I don't know if you're into the whole dom/sub thing but I've seen so, sooo many doms that are not the ones in control. Honestly it seems that way more often than not in my experience. The sub has all these ideas of what sort of experience would be fun for them and they want it juuuust right and the dom is really just there to fulfill their desires.

That's kind of inescapable in D/s. The submissive always has the power. If they don't, then it's a toxic relationship because the vulnerable one *must* (obviously, hopefully) retain autonomy over what happens to them at all times. They can end the 'action' on a whim. The only power the top has is whether or not to continue the relationship; whether those 'whims' are in line with their own expectations.
Some couples negotiate, conceptually, "no limits", but such things can always be rescinded.
