Wasn't there a guy who crashed a drone into one of these??

8 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Isnt thermal just another way of saying temperature?

8 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

Because 'hot' does not already imply 'thermal'?

8 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

According to the post last week about it our son burns out, you should live near here.

8 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Looks like iris.

8 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

8 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Is this in Yellowstone?

8 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 1

Yes, it is. It's Morning Glory Pool. No idea why the image is reversed.

8 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

Sarlacc!!!

8 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Why is the aspect reversed?

8 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

That’s the devils vagina right there.

8 years ago | Likes 43 Dislikes 4

Is the meaning of Morning Glory the same in your country? Because here it means a morning hard rod... weird name for a spa not in thailand.

8 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

That's hot

8 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Ahhhh the Thot springs!

8 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Many scientists propose that the first dna based Micro-organisms originated in hot spring pools just like this.

8 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

You're going to need to take some RadAway.

8 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Where is it?

8 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

Yellowstone.

8 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

Just look at it.... would you just look at that would you

8 years ago | Likes 4 Dislikes 2

Idk why but it reminds me of The Marshall Tucker Band album.

8 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

It's caused from tourists throwing trash into it over the years

8 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 1

PCR!

8 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

Acid lake ?

8 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

No.... so hot, it would kill you and then boil the flesh off your bones.

8 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Morning Glory Pool is a hot spring in the Yellowstone Upper Geyser Basin of the US. Source: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Morning_Glory_Pool

8 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Its actually the bacteria in it that give off different colors at different temps. Saw this and others last year at Yellowstone. Beautiful

8 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Probably....Yellowstone National Park

8 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Put... put your dick in it.

8 years ago | Likes 221 Dislikes 12

Hilarious

8 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

It looks nice but would scald you beyond repair :(

8 years ago | Likes 4 Dislikes 0

Twice!!

8 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 1

Tried, didn't fit.

8 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 1

Didn’t some guy fell on one and his body disintegrated in a matter of minutes?

8 years ago | Likes 30 Dislikes 1

Well, several hours, but yes very quickly.

8 years ago | Likes 10 Dislikes 0

Also that guy who jumped in to save his dog and he died with his dog.

8 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 1

In Yellowstone, yes.

8 years ago | Likes 26 Dislikes 0

Sign says * morning glory pool*

8 years ago | Likes 26 Dislikes 2

Why is it backwards?

8 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

Don’t know, I’m not OP

8 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

Why not morning glory hole?

8 years ago | Likes 4 Dislikes 1

I didn’t make the sign...

8 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

I thought it said "Long Haired Freaky people, need not apply"

8 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

So I tucked my hair up under my hat and I went in to AAAAAAAAAAaaaaaaaaahhhhhhh!!!!

8 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

AAAAAAAAAAAAGARGLWARGLEggggghhhhhh...

8 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

....(blub).

8 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

You've got to wonder how many white people jumped into these things due to their sheer beauty while the natives sat back and laughed.

8 years ago | Likes 93 Dislikes 20

Its common and tragic, actually. Not a laughing matter unless you're sociopathic

8 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 3

Then everyone got smallpox and clapped

When I was in Yellowstone last summer I watched multiple Asian tourists put their hands in thermal features, one woman tasted sulfur??

8 years ago | Likes 5 Dislikes 1

It's not necessarily an instant death sentence. still very stupid and disrespectful. They are hot and acidic and shouldn't be underestimated

8 years ago | Likes 5 Dislikes 1

It's stupid for sure, I couldn't believe some of the people there

8 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Why not. It's just high in sulfur.

8 years ago | Likes 5 Dislikes 15

Water boils at 212°f, this particular spring is around 160 and many are hotter

8 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

It's essentially near boiling sulfuric acid with a pH of 1-2, extremely dangerous to the human body.

8 years ago | Likes 6 Dislikes 0

You would be fine in some hot springs. Iceland has livable ones, and Japan. Yellowstone is way hotter though.

8 years ago | Likes 6 Dislikes 0

Because they are usually incredibly hot. Tons of tourists and pets have died in Yellowstone.

8 years ago | Likes 27 Dislikes 1

You realize that your skin will melt off and you’ll be cooked alive, right?

8 years ago | Likes 9 Dislikes 1

Been at the hotspings in jasper. It's relaxing

8 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 3

Not all hotsprings are the same

8 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

Absolutely. I’ve been to the ones at Lake Moraine, but they’re not as hot. A lot of the ones in Yellowstone will cook you.

8 years ago | Likes 7 Dislikes 0

Every few years some tourist mistakes a hot spring fed creek for a cold spring fed creek and dies.

8 years ago | Likes 14 Dislikes 0

I read a story that a dog dived into one and the owner ran in after it. They made it out but both died minutes later because severe burns

8 years ago | Likes 8 Dislikes 0

I read one about a family that jumped in after their daughter

8 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

What's... what's the difference other than temperature?

8 years ago | Likes 7 Dislikes 0

Yellowstone has one you can wade in. It's so hot you can have one foot in boiling water an the other in ice cold water.

8 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

And the acidity

8 years ago | Likes 10 Dislikes 0

199 Degrees killing you instead of getting a cold ????

8 years ago | Likes 6 Dislikes 0

The hot ones often look like this post, with weird mineral deposits. Cold ones usually aren't, huge asterisk.

8 years ago | Likes 4 Dislikes 0

But by cold do you mean like... a regular fresh water spring? or just not "melt your face off hot with a side of alkaline chemical burn?"

8 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

I'm thinking regular springs, but really there isn't a 'regular'. But the kind hot enough to kill you is often also hot enough to melt

8 years ago | Likes 4 Dislikes 0

Colours all fucked now because your families have thrown so many coins in.

8 years ago | Likes 106 Dislikes 6

Fking punks draw penis, weed, and curse words into the bacteria there, so no, wouldn't doubt it a bit

8 years ago | Likes 8 Dislikes 1

Oh I was more saying because tons of the pools are this color naturally. I know humans are fucking terrible.

8 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Can it be fixed?

8 years ago | Likes 9 Dislikes 1

There's been some attempt to induce geyers to clear the trash. Mixed results.

8 years ago | Likes 5 Dislikes 0

Not really. Time. If it can it will be extremely costly and difficult

8 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

people suck

8 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Not sure if you’re being serious...

8 years ago | Likes 25 Dislikes 0

Neat!

8 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 2

Fascinating! I had no idea. So many of the sulfur pools in Yellowstone are this color. Who knew morning glory was initially different?

8 years ago | Likes 7 Dislikes 0

Wow I had no idea, that's awful

8 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

Humans are a plague on this planet.

8 years ago | Likes 18 Dislikes 2

You should start the cure with you being first!

8 years ago | Likes 6 Dislikes 5

Save the planet! Kill yourself!

8 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 1

How about instead we just start w/ all of the stupid fucking idiots that think throwing coins into a prismatic geyser is a good, fun idea?
