Sometimes I just get a little excited, I swear it's never this much I must just like you a lot.

8 years ago | Likes 121 Dislikes 0

A rotten egg/vomit smelling foam party.

8 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

No, don't do that. Not the fun foam. It's the kill you kind of foam.

8 years ago | Likes 10 Dislikes 2

Whoooooooooooooo!

8 years ago | Likes 14 Dislikes 0

Its called AFFF Aqueous Film Forming Foam.

8 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

Wow, you're fun at foam parties

8 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

I am irl. Once I convinced my roommate to buy a $2000 vacuum from a door to door sales guy, simply cause you could make foam for parties.

8 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Its called AFFF Aqueous Film Forming Foam.

8 years ago | Likes 4 Dislikes 0

Happened at Coast Guard base where I live in winter (doors shut) 3 helos totaled. The foam and electrics don't mix well.

8 years ago | Likes 4 Dislikes 0

Did aircraft maintenance. Can confirm.

8 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

It works...ok people, the surprise test was a success. Back to work. Nothing to see here

8 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

Bahahahaha... wait isn't that corrosive?

8 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

Aaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaand Fired.

Uhh don't go near it. It's an asphyxiating agent is it not?

8 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

I'm sure they can wear oxygen masks

8 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Aka someone got fired

8 years ago | Likes 407 Dislikes 6

No, no fire; only foam.

8 years ago | Likes 26 Dislikes 0

This stuff is toxic. Fired would be a nice consequence.

8 years ago | Likes 10 Dislikes 1

It might not be the AFFF foam we use in ships for oil fires is protein based

8 years ago | Likes 4 Dislikes 0

The definition of irony.

8 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

no foam

8 years ago | Likes 5 Dislikes 1

If someone got "fired" than the "firing" prevention foam failed!

8 years ago | Likes 11 Dislikes 2

We had one of these at the Johnny Rockets I worked at. I wanted to pull it so bad after I found out what it did.

So... then did someone get foamed?

8 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

8 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

They got put out.

8 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Sir, you can't fire me for that, it's fire PREVENTION. So just tell TSA to stop beating me and I'll go back to work.

United Airlines*

8 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 1

How do you clean this stuff up and why the hell is there so much of it? Can the wind blow it away? Is it hard?

8 years ago | Likes 10 Dislikes 0

Spray it with cold water and the foam will go away, or blow it away with a jet engine, source, airforce guy

8 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

Its called AFFF Aqueous Film Forming Foam. And yes. Imagine Dawn dish soap 100 times stronger

8 years ago | Likes 5 Dislikes 0

I work for a fire alarm company, that's a half a million dollar mistake.

8 years ago | Likes 36 Dislikes 1

More right? There's a plane in there....

8 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Just to reset the system, right? Because i know those turbines are fucked, and those are worth alot more then a half a million.

8 years ago | Likes 6 Dislikes 2

The turbines are fine, it's literally just soapy water. 1% trimethyl-trimethylene glycol and 99% water make up the solution. $10,000 mistake

8 years ago | Likes 9 Dislikes 0

That's good to know. We have a fire suppression system in our paint booth that coats everything in a paste. Ruined 100,000 in electric motor

8 years ago | Likes 5 Dislikes 0

What color and consistency is the paste?

8 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

White. More like a thick powder. Coated anything that wasn't hermetically sealed.

8 years ago | Likes 4 Dislikes 0

So this is specific to Louisville Delta Airlines hangars? Has anyone tried it in any other hangars?

8 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

Sounds like some science needing to be done.

Looked for this comment!

8 years ago | Likes 4 Dislikes 0

Although I think that is the neutral gel? or whatever its called - the one made of moon dust

8 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

This happened at my hangar and we only had 1 jet left on the flightline and all the foam rolled out directly at the only plane sitting there

8 years ago | Likes 16 Dislikes 0

Fuck that lone plane in particular.

8 years ago | Likes 5 Dislikes 0

Its called AFFF Aqueous Film Forming Foam.

8 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

I know. Like I said, I had this thing happen when I was in the navy

8 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

Me too. We accidently lit off the AFFF system in the Helo Hangar once, Not fun cleaning up lol

8 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Oh yeah, good times

8 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

If only that jet had some sort of speedy way to get out of the way...

8 years ago | Likes 13 Dislikes 1

..some kind of way of rapidly heating air for forward thrust and momentum..

8 years ago | Likes 6 Dislikes 1

Nobody was in it. We did move it with a tow tractor though

8 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

Heh, yeah I figured it wasn't sitting there ready to take off.

8 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

Well you never know with airplanes. They are tricky

8 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

If you're ever in a hangar when these go off, throw your shirt over your head and run like hell. The foam will suffocate you

8 years ago | Likes 13 Dislikes 6

What if I'm in a rave party?

8 years ago | Likes 5 Dislikes 0

Thats kinda the idea. Trollolololololooooollllloooollolol

8 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

It just smells obnoxious. Open he hangar doors and get the toxic gas out. I've been bilge diving in AFFF. I'm still here.

8 years ago | Likes 5 Dislikes 0

No, it will not. Stop misinforming people. Source: Am firefighter, work with fire fighting foams

8 years ago | Likes 11 Dislikes 1

Genuine question: Why not? Breathing in this looks like it would create irritation, and irritated airways gets pissed off and kills people.

8 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

Because you don't breathe it in. It's a very light and fluffy foam, simply exhaling blows it away and creates an air pocket.

8 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Everywhere else in this thread is saying it's soap and 1% trimethyl-trimethylene glycol, which is apparently carcinogenic. T-shirt FTW.

8 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

It is not a known carcinogen.

8 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Oh ok then.

8 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

But: no fire, so it worked.

8 years ago | Likes 1274 Dislikes 0

Flawless Victory

8 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

Duh, there was no foam there to ignite.

8 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 1

Oh my no, I promise he's fired...

8 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

Hi-ex wor-ks

8 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

I'm 90% sure that foam is insanely carcinogenic. We have had issues with it in Australia.

8 years ago | Likes 11 Dislikes 1

How? Did the dumb cunt drink it?

8 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

Google Williamtown / Newcastle water contamination. It's pretty far reaching.

8 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

Besides direct exposure to workers, it Washed into local waterways. Then fish were contaminated and consumed when caught. Pretty fucked up

8 years ago | Likes 4 Dislikes 0

But where is the spider!?

8 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Well there was some firing that is for sure

8 years ago | Likes 219 Dislikes 3

So it didn't work then?

8 years ago | Likes 30 Dislikes 1

nah, some people just don´t have to work anymore now.

8 years ago | Likes 4 Dislikes 0

No literal fires, but people got fired

8 years ago | Likes 17 Dislikes 1

So it didn't work.

8 years ago | Likes 17 Dislikes 0

Well idk how you spill it since about 95% of hangars have this system built into the ceiling, but ok let's call it a spill, not an oops I..

8 years ago | Likes 9 Dislikes 0

Pulled the wrong handle and could have potentially killed a few people in the process..

8 years ago | Likes 8 Dislikes 0

Not toxic and safe to be around. Total damage is less than 10k USD

8 years ago | Likes 4 Dislikes 1

Isn't that foam kinda toxic?

8 years ago | Likes 119 Dislikes 4

Super - see below

8 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 1

only to fire

8 years ago | Likes 4 Dislikes 0

*slowly gets up from making foam angels*

8 years ago | Likes 17 Dislikes 0

looks at cancer. shit.

8 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

Very corrsive to the aircraft and other metals. Everything has to get washed. Pain in the ass. But, yeah, the environment too.

8 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

2/2 ventilation and fresh air is available, it shouldn't be very harmful at all

8 years ago | Likes 5 Dislikes 1

Only a little

8 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

Yup, very. Lots of issues and lawsuits are associated with ground water contamination.

8 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

No. It's Aqueous film forming foam.only danger is when it sits too long it generates H2S. And seeing as these were in a place where 1/2

8 years ago | Likes 7 Dislikes 1

Dunno about toxic, but it's very hard on equipment if it gets inside. Happened at Bombardier and totalled a plane that my buddy flew

8 years ago | Likes 54 Dislikes 0

Your buddy flies Bombardier planes? Brave man.

8 years ago | Likes 14 Dislikes 0

You can suffocate in it. So it's deadly in that sense.

8 years ago | Likes 10 Dislikes 0

Not entirely true. The H2S content has to be 100 ppm to be IDLH. Halon 1301 and PKP as well as CO2 can cause suffocation in closed spaces

8 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 1

Me reading your comment like

8 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

PKP is a dry chem, this is foam. Most likely AFFF.

8 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

No kidding... That's why I said its AFFF... Basic Damage Control...

8 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Halon 1301 is not AFFF

8 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

The wells in our community (near a Navy base) are ruined because of contamination with that foam.

8 years ago | Likes 31 Dislikes 1

Sauce?

8 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

Less toxic than fire...

8 years ago | Likes 242 Dislikes 0

Fire is just energy. Smoke is toxic.

8 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

But the toxicity of fire depends on the material that is burning..

8 years ago | Likes 9 Dislikes 2

No, all fire is extremely bad for life if the fire gets inside of it.

8 years ago | Likes 12 Dislikes 0

But it does purify the soul though.

8 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

But isn't that soulwashing, aka brainwashing souls?

8 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0
