Exactly though I'd hope we have more chemistry than those two. They make great friends but it's hard to picture them doing much sexually. You know what, I thought Alien Resurrection was great! Was it ever gonna live up to the first two? Nope. Was it still ultimately SOOOO much better than the 3rd? Oh yeah.

The third is my favorite. I think everyone was disappointed that hicks, bishop, and newt died but that to me was brilliant because there is nothing but cold hurt in the world of aliens. Everything is lost and desperate and that really creates a dark gritty reality. I also like that Ripley had to face predators from the human and alien kinds alike. It gave her a greater stage to display her resolve and strengths. 3 was such a grand departure from the norm. Assembly cut is the best version.

Soooo fun thing about Resurrection. Joss Whedon had a hand in that movie which does explain a few things. If you squint you could almost see the crew of the smuggling ship as a proto-Firefly crew. Ron Perlman's character (for instance) is basically Jane.

My biggest problem with 3 was the absolutely enormous plot hole of how she got impregnated and what the heck made the ship crash. Oh and the fact that there existed some really crazy good books and comics and such that gave us much better content for what might have happened before 3 was ever released. Aliens: Earth War was so good.
