These are all from 1991, which means so many reading this weren't even born yet so you may not have even KNOWN McDonald's did birthdays. Hell, I bet this guy wished he didn't remember

Each party kid was given a party hat and if I remember correctly we also had Happy Meals. As a side note, notice the hair cuts?! We were not fashionable people in the early 90s

This is just for the clothes. They were awful

Another party angle. I'd like to. Point out the sign making the non-smoking section

And the outside Play Place, which is what we're all really looking forward to as kids

More bad hair and clothes

And finally my graceful self.

FP Edit: You guys popped my most viral cherry! Send pictures of your favorite beers!

My 4th or 5th birthday was at Showbiz Pizza. What a relic. The drummer dude creeped me out, and cheerleader duck chick was weird too.

Girl you be trippin' . Those clothes were the bomb. Bright and colorful, one lil' dude even has a TMNT shirt! And the hair was awesome.

I'm a 200's kid, went to a few maccas parties in Australia

8 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

I remember that ... but I'm a Living Fossil (born 1974 and Belgian).

Born in 1979 myself, so I feel ya. Console yourself with the fact that you grew up surrounded by great beer.

I miss the days when a half wall could protect us from second hand smoke.

8 years ago | Likes 7 Dislikes 0

aus maccas still do birthdays

8 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

that guy in the first picture looks like Wayne from the Wonder Years

8 years ago | Likes 161 Dislikes 1

He actually looks a hell of a lot like the nerdy fellow from Buffy the Vampire Slayer, you know the one...

8 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 1

We all looked like that even the girls. I miss those parties.

8 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

No, he looks like Lorraine's brother, from when Marty goes back to 1955!

8 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 1

Did he sing out of tune?

8 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

I couldn't place it.

8 years ago | Likes 7 Dislikes 0

mixed with Danny Bonaduce

8 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Why the hell arent Wonder Years reruns on anymore?

8 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

Because Netflix hates us

8 years ago | Likes 4 Dislikes 0

He looks like a young Nick Swardson

8 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Holy shit! You're right! I was trying to figure out why he looked familiar to me

8 years ago | Likes 17 Dislikes 0

Scrote.

8 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

I thought it was Ed Norton

8 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 1

Yeah. I was certain it was a young Edward Norton as well.

In France (and maybe other places), you can still have your kid's birthday party at McDonald's. Look exactly the same.

8 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

Except the haircuts, of course.

8 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

I had my birthday party here when I was 4 or five I loved it they had a Nintendo 64

8 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

I went to 2 McDonald's birthday parties and one Burger King birthday party when I was a kid. Also I used to dress like that.

8 years ago | Likes 7 Dislikes 1

My brother had a Burger King party. He was given a Burger King doll(part of the pkg)that he more or less distroyed within a couple months.

I (old fart) remember a mid-1970s McD birthday party. I was mom-shamed into apologizing to some soft kid. Still not sorry, other kid's mom.

8 years ago | Likes 8 Dislikes 1

Lol what did you do

8 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

I think most Australian ones still do them.

8 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

They also used to have pizza on the menu.

8 years ago | Likes 12 Dislikes 0

They did, but it wasn't rolled out nationally. They also used to do Lobster Rolls in New England stores. Imagine that.

8 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

Only time I ever saw that was on a fieldtrip to Canada in 7th grade (~'96 or so)

8 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

That crust was so damn crispy! #neverforget

8 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

Burger King too

8 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

Ice cream cake!

8 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

I remember the PURE SUGAR decorations of their cake. Grimace was saved, & survived a week or two in the freezer before temptation gave way.

8 years ago | Likes 4 Dislikes 0

McDonalds used to have dedicated party rooms before they installed playplaces.

8 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

Now it's just a bunch of ghetto middle aged people demanding15 dollars an hour to flip burgers.

8 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

#4 I like the TMNT shirt

8 years ago | Likes 4 Dislikes 1

If you've ever hosted a child's birthday party at your home, you'll understand why McDonald's canned this policy. :P

69¢ cheeseburgers and 59¢ hamburgers

8 years ago | Likes 77 Dislikes 1

remember 29¢ hamburger Wednesdays and 39¢ cheeseburger Sundays?

8 years ago | Likes 8 Dislikes 0

Tai Mai Shu does. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=mYkv7wVUrCg

8 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

well then

8 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

That's nothing! I remember 25¢ cheeseburgers, 10¢ hamburgers, and a super size cup of fries for $1.99! Weekends were always busy at McD's!

8 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

Did they charge 15c for cheese or were these different years?

8 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 1

Different years. This was in the 90's!

8 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

They brought back those prices in 2001 or so at one of my local McDonalsa. My buddy and I would leave school to go on lunch and get 10 each.

8 years ago | Likes 9 Dislikes 0

Define burger.

8 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

That 69 cents is $1.28 in 2018 money. Regular price for a cheeseburger at McDonald's now is $1. They're cheaper now.

8 years ago | Likes 31 Dislikes 0

Maybe the packaging? They used to have more elaborate Happy Meals, polystyrene burger clamshell cases, now everything comes in paper.

8 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

The regular cheeseburgers always came in paper. It was the Big Macs, Quarter Pounders, etc. that used styrofoam.

8 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

Dang. Props for doing your research!

My seventh birthday party (‘87) was at McDonald’s what a flashback!

8 years ago | Likes 34 Dislikes 0

So was mine! Same year :)

8 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

Woah! :) mine was in October hbu?

8 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

My neighbors had a b-day party for their kid at McDonald’s when I was 4 or 5. Creepy Ronald ruined the day for me.

8 years ago | Likes 4 Dislikes 0

He usually does

8 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

Hello fellow '80 child!

8 years ago | Likes 5 Dislikes 0

Hello!

8 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

Yea, this post had brought back some very, very old memories. The kind I haven't accessed for 25 years. Nothing bad though, so there's that!

8 years ago | Likes 8 Dislikes 0

Yeah same! Glad it only made me remember about my McDonald’s birthday party

8 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

I went to one about that time too, and we had to go into the freezer due to a tornado warning, made for a memorable time

8 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

Yeah I bet!

8 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

I'm 26 and I remember birthday parties at Maccas! Then again, I am from NZ and we're only now catching up to the rest of the world....

8 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

Australia had them last i remember like 07 maybe

8 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

side note: if I had seen @op back then I would have avoided her because girls have coodies.

8 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

Nuh uh! Boys were the real gross ones!

8 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Boys ARE gross and always will be (we're mostly dumb too) but you know deep down you had coodies in these pics... ADMIT IT!!

8 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

They still do ? some of them at least.

8 years ago | Likes 84 Dislikes 2

Haven't been inside a McDonald's in 5-10 years, but back then they did and a had special table for it with a special chair in one end

8 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

In Germany they do.

8 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

I don't know if mine does for sure, but we have a spot on our order taking screens for setting one up

8 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

In Spain most still they do. Special happy meals, cake, amenities and shit.

8 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

Two out of the three nearest here do I think. Third one is more highway service focused I think.

8 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

The ones close to me don't anymore but that just might be due to a lack of Play Places. I can only think of 2 nearby

8 years ago | Likes 18 Dislikes 0

The one closet to me has an entire area designed specifically for parties, but yea it has something to do with location and size.

8 years ago | Likes 7 Dislikes 0

Yeah, I know of one, even went to a party probably at least 7 years ago now. Only know of one, though, out of maybe 20 I've visited.

8 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

They still do, but they used to too!

8 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

They still do nationwide here https://www.mcdonaldsparties.co.nz/birthdayparty_nz/index.jsp

8 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

In Argentina they still do. And I remember I had one like ten years ago, in 1987

8 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

In my country they do (Australia)

8 years ago | Likes 13 Dislikes 0

THE ICECREAM CAKES!!

8 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

Germany, they also still do

8 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

My town had a train caboose outside the McDonald's, all the best birthday parties happened there. Not sure what it had to do with McD though

8 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

(I guess they had to make up for no play place and only one in town somehow, why not a train, sure)

8 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Yes! I remember the caboose! We had them too before there were PlayPlaces.

8 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

I always wondered if that was actually a thing! So I guess we just had one way longer than we should have, it lasted until like 2010.....
