Ketchup vs. Mustard (yellow and red hockey sticks in gym class!)

10 years ago | Likes 17 Dislikes 0

Or Condiments vs Mayo for those schools that managed to order the cheaper piece of shit white sticks before they sold out.

10 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

As soon as I saw those wheeled carts my fingers started to hurt again...

10 years ago | Likes 4 Dislikes 0

You know, those aren't handles, their guards...

10 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

What are the things with the apple logo on them? Didn't have those in elementary school. ..

10 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

I thought they were pencil sharpeners until I saw the logo

10 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

The blue part will erase your paper. So I guess it does erase ink.

10 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

Destroy*

10 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

The blue part didn't erase ink, it erased the paper.

10 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

Even for Ireland loads of these fit here XD

10 years ago | Likes 5 Dislikes 0

YES. YES TO ALL. DOUBLE YES TO THOSE BOARDS WITH WHEELS, WHATEVER THE HELL THEY WERE CALLED. Best part of gym class.

10 years ago | Likes 5 Dislikes 0

Until they crushed your fingers

10 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Born in the 90s raised in the 00s. That's what this is.

10 years ago | Likes 30 Dislikes 0

Aside from the Macs and maybe Bill Nye (he was on Almost Live at the time) this is accurate back into the early 80s at least.

10 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Yeah. I started school in the '50's and we hardly had desks and books back then...

10 years ago | Likes 4 Dislikes 0

Exactly this. I'm a 93 baby and every one of these was accurate.

10 years ago | Likes 9 Dislikes 0

this doesn't resemble a nut, nor a shell, at all

Spacecowboy02 the new lassannn?

10 years ago | Likes 5 Dislikes 0

I went to school before a lot of you, and I can tell you, those recorders are fucking timeless. Neighbor kid was playing one the other day.

10 years ago | Likes 336 Dislikes 0

I went to school in the early 2000's, and all of this was still there, minus the macs.

10 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

As an art teacher, the music teacher still teaches recorder to all kids 3-5 grade

10 years ago | Likes 17 Dislikes 0

Learned how to play a bunch of songs on mine. My favorite is the hobbit theme, always a hit when I pull it out

10 years ago | Likes 4 Dislikes 0

Yeah, Excepting a couple of items, a lot of this has been around for a loooooong time.

10 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

I never played the recorder. I went straight to clarinet. My husband's a musician and lumps the sound of recorders in with bagpipes.

10 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

Mf'n Hot Cross Buns.

10 years ago | Likes 110 Dislikes 0

Why does this not have more up votes is beyond me

10 years ago | Likes 6 Dislikes 0

oh god i just laughed so hard.

10 years ago | Likes 4 Dislikes 0

HOT CROSS BUNS??

10 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

My classroom is next to the music room. They definitely still play the recorder!

10 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

You know you can make real music with them? A lot of YouTube videos of people playing da rude sandstorm though

10 years ago | Likes 15 Dislikes 0

We played Star Wars on them for a concert. Was amazing.

10 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

WHY WERE WE NOT TAUGHT THAT?

10 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

I still don't know what that fucking S is from.

10 years ago | Likes 7 Dislikes 0

All this nostalgia,That S yes, I'm still waiting on someone to fulfil tat legend of the blue eraser. +1 OP made my day

10 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

But where did the S come from m. No one has ever explained it to me.

10 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

I have no idea where it originated from, all I remember is how to draw it.

10 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

this is not math in the 90's they still teach this stuff to new teachers in college

10 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

BILL, BILL, BILL, BILL, BILL, BILL, BILL, BILL, BILL, BILL, BILL, BILL, BILL, BILL, BILL, BILL, BILL, BILL, BILL, BILL, BILL, BILL, BILL.

10 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

WAS I THE ONLY ONE WHO WENT TO AN AMERICAN ELEMENTARY SCHOOL AND DIDN'T HAVE TO PLAY THE RECORDER?!

10 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

I was in the Recorder CHOIR in 6th grade. I was so boss.

10 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

YOU'RE NEVER THE ONLY ONE

10 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Vanilla ice cream: ...what? Apple computers: ....what? All those weird block things: ....WHAT? I was K-to-grade-6 was 1991-1997 for me. WTF?

10 years ago | Likes 59 Dislikes 5

Late 80's here. Fun times.

10 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Not just vanilla ice cream - incredibly cheap individual cups of ice cream with built in wooden "spoons" you'd only get at school parties

10 years ago | Likes 9 Dislikes 0

96-2001 had all these things.

10 years ago | Likes 9 Dislikes 0

As a non-American, most of these were like "wut"

10 years ago | Likes 5 Dislikes 0

96-02 had almost all of them although my school skipped the recorders.

10 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

95-01 for me, we had allllll of this. Sweet nostalgia

10 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

I was in elementary school from 2001-2007 and we had these things, so maybe you were too early.

10 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

89-95 here. Had all those things except the Apples were the Mac II, not iMacs

10 years ago | Likes 7 Dislikes 0

Me too. I started kindergarten in 1990, so just a hair younger than you.

10 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

86-91 Same here.

10 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

Omfg this makes me feel ancient. I started kindergarten in 1985.

10 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

I was 2005-11. Update the computers and it's all stuff we had.

10 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

I was 2005-11. Update the computers and it's all stuff we had.

10 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

You were in elementary school 4 years ago?

10 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

grade 6 was 2nd year of middle school for me, but yeah. i am a hormonal dysfunctional unit, as my calc teacher says.

10 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Uh. I had all of these things but the iMacs, myself. Trade 'em in for some old Apple IIs, and that's what I had. And I was earlier than you.

10 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

See I was in these grades from 2001 to 2007 and we had all of these things

10 years ago | Likes 18 Dislikes 0

03 to 08. Had all of the things.

10 years ago | Likes 4 Dislikes 0

2005 to 2010, same, all except the macs.

10 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Anyone else remember that weird purple and green ketchup?

10 years ago | Likes 356 Dislikes 2

Yes!!

10 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

My mom made meatloaf and ran out of normal ketchup. My siblings and I were pretty stoked for green meatloaf!

10 years ago | Likes 28 Dislikes 0

Really wanted to see a Meatloaf/Hulk hybrod pic here..

10 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Wait a minute here... didn't it come in a horrifyingly bring blue too? Or am I thinking of another unnaturally colored condiment?

10 years ago | Likes 10 Dislikes 0

*bright blue

10 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

They probably ended with that one those things were crazy

10 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

First time I swore in front of my dad was at the commercial for that - "That looks fucking gross" - and he was so appalled he didn't care.

10 years ago | Likes 7 Dislikes 0

I remember mixing them and then they became brown. Threw both in the trash right away.

10 years ago | Likes 4 Dislikes 0

Gross. Yes.

10 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

My fav was the blue fries...so much food coloring my toddler brother proudly called us all to see his bright blue poo

10 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

I tried it once but it made me sick

10 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

Don't remind me. bleh.

10 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Yessss!!!! I was too scared to eat it.

10 years ago | Likes 4 Dislikes 0

Or the pink and blue squeeze butter?

10 years ago | Likes 11 Dislikes 1

Eeeeewww thank you for reminding me of that! I made my mom buy it and she made me eat it all, and I couldn't let her know I was grossed out!

10 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

Saaaame! Number Munchers, Carmen San Diego, Oregon Trail and....fish game.

10 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

with the mystical B drive

10 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

That last one didn't even have a proper name. Everybody called it fish game.

10 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

As someone who grew up in the 90s, I'm always surprised to see how much "color" everything had back then. We really liked our colors.

10 years ago | Likes 68 Dislikes 1

It's remnants of the 80s

10 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

I blame that color explosion for making me gay.

10 years ago | Likes 16 Dislikes 0

Me too :-\

10 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

FUCKING LISA FRANK!.... Ugh... I had alot of those folders

10 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

It's really sad when you look at cars now. They're almost all gray or silver or black. So many more color options for most cars in the 90's

10 years ago | Likes 7 Dislikes 0

This is true!

10 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Its getting better for some car brands!

10 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Your elementary school had Macs? What kind of bourgeoisie place did you live?

10 years ago | Likes 816 Dislikes 8

Not those. If they were like my elementary school, they had Mac laptopss that you used, like, once, maybe twice a year.

10 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

I had them in public school in Georgia from 1989 onward. They were cheaper than PCs, schools got a discount. Nobody would use them over PCs.

10 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

St Peter's Primary School, Glenburn and it was a shite hole of the third order.

10 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

So THAT'S how you spell it...

10 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

My ISD got a huge grant with Apple when I was in Kindergarten. I grew up with the latest machines. Both Macs and PCs up to OS9 and Win2000.

10 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Only 90 kids understand

10 years ago | Likes 6 Dislikes 1

My school in the 90s had Macs... from the late 80s.

10 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Mine did too. I was in elementary around 2004.

10 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

My school district is considered "poverty stricken" and we've always had macs. And teachers get a MacBook pro to use for their job.

10 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Early on, before they realized that idiots would pay fucktons for a shitty piece of stolen tech, Apple supported schools and learning!

10 years ago | Likes 44 Dislikes 7

My high school let everyone use macbooks that they could take anywhere. Only had a $25-$50 rental fee. My district was also pretty poor.

10 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

We had "computer week" and a truck brought laptops that had 2-color displays-orange and black. After a week of clipart truck took them away.

10 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

My school had macs... They were the beige kind.

10 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

My elementary didn't even have computers. My town is poor.

10 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

Finally someone else from a poor area

10 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

We got netbooks in high school, but they had to be shared with every class. Even my college had computers running on windows 98

10 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

I'm 25. I remember having those macs sometime in k-12, but it may have been middle school. I'm in a fairly low income area too.

10 years ago | Likes 4 Dislikes 0

I'm 23, we got a lot of those in 2nd-4th grade. In middles chool they got a bunch of IBMs to replace them all.

10 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

21 here. We had refurbished HPs and Dells and, in elementary school, we only used computers during typing class. Not enough for everyone.

10 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

To be more clear: they had already replaces a lot of them with slightly newer macs, but are now replacing the remaining ones.

10 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

I'm working at the elementary school I went to, now, and they're only now replacing some of those Macs with Chrome-puters

10 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Mine had those macs and I was in Lewiston Idaho.

10 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

I remember my school had two of those macs and everyone wanted to use them!

10 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

He's too young to even know what that word means

10 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Mine had Apple II gs-but only in the computer lab and one in the math teacher's room to play number munchers.

10 years ago | Likes 5 Dislikes 0

I'm actually glad that my elementary school had PCs. I had to use Macs in middle school and I hated it.

10 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

my elementary school had macs too...how else were we going to play Oregon Trail during Library time?

10 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

I thought they were hole punchers

10 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

We had one teacher. ONE teacher who owned a blue mac, and it was tight as shit. She was also pretty awesome.

10 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Right? I saw the iMacs and felt old as fuck.

10 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

My elementary school didn't have computers.

10 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Try no computers.

10 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

at my public school we got mac books which we could take home to use for homework.

10 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Mine did too though. I grew up in WA. So I guess WA? Lol

10 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Mine didn't even have computers :c

10 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Mac used to be cheaper and more user friendly

10 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

My middle school had imacs. We also had a teacher who didn't know the first thing about computers and I frequently got stuck fixing them.

10 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

My school had three(!) BBC Micro PCs.

10 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Mine did too. Albeit, they were Apple IIs, not iMacs...

10 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

We had 386s :(

10 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

We had the super old, gigantic dinosaur macs with the tiny screen. When I was in sixth grade we got enough money to get these! Was sweet!

10 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

I went to a public elementary school and we had them, also had them in middle school and we learned photoshop

10 years ago | Likes 39 Dislikes 0

we had 4 old as shit desktop computers in the library, that was it

10 years ago | Likes 6 Dislikes 0

We had a Mac in our Grade 2 class, we took turns on it at lunch. My friend used it for porn. Good times...

10 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

My school had them! I remember admiring them so much and wanting one "when I grew up."

10 years ago | Likes 7 Dislikes 0

I remember a PC in my 5th grade glass (2001). Can't remember if any grades before 5th ever had a computer.

10 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Lol those macs were a lot newer than the ones.i had in elementary school.

10 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

How do you even say that

10 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

I feel old

10 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

I loved using those Macs. I only used them once, but they were great. It was blue.

10 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

In my high school, every classroom got one as a grant. The teachers didn't allow students to touch them :(

10 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

I lived in Florida and we had colorful macs.

10 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Mine were those macs too. I was born in 1995 so by the time I started school they were in most classrooms

10 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

Mine had those computers with the green on black monitor. This post was made by a young'un.

10 years ago | Likes 154 Dislikes 3

Same.

10 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

There was one computer and no one was ever allowed to use it. Apart from on super rare occasions where three children would get to share it.

10 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

When I was in elementary school, the computers had XP. I'm 17...

10 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

ours were like that, but macs

10 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

Yup had the monochrome monitors too. Still have the atari system and old tandy computer my father gave me too.

10 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

A lot of control right arrow and control left arrow at my elementary school.

10 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

I honestly had no clue who Bill Nye was until I was a teenager.

10 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

We just had a room filled with old Dells.

10 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

We had macbook laptops that once we finished our work, we would have a Tony Hawk LAN server set up and we'd all play on that.

10 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

I feel ya, Apple IIe is what we had in elementary school.

10 years ago | Likes 4 Dislikes 0

we had like 4 old as shit windows computers in the library, that was it, besides the ones hooked up to TVs

10 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

I remember the lone Apple II next to the Commodore, and later, a couple IBM clones running DOS. Oregon Trail FTW!

10 years ago | Likes 14 Dislikes 0

A lot of these "90s" things seem to be more 2005 things

10 years ago | Likes 25 Dislikes 0

Well they're "90s" things because they were experienced by 90s kids, who were in school in the late 90s and early 00s.

10 years ago | Likes 4 Dislikes 0

I graduated high school in 2005 and I definitely saw all of these in junior high.

10 years ago | Likes 11 Dislikes 0

I had a Commodore in elementary.

10 years ago | Likes 4 Dislikes 0

I used a commodore monitor with my atari and tandy pc, that count? Haha

10 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

My school had both at the same time. Ibm and Mac under the same roof.

10 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

I think mine did too. They even let us take one home for a week. Oregon trail for days.

10 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

Anybody else remember the game with on the black and green computers with the dinosaurs and the balloons and I think math?

10 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

Number Munchers?

10 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Totally! Do you remember a game, I think it was math based to, where you get to make aliens? I think you just matched heads and bodies etc.

10 years ago | Likes 4 Dislikes 0

Really, really faintly.

10 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

ok yeah, THIS game was called Number Munchers.

10 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

In the 90s almost all school computers for students were those Macs. PCs were only used for administrative purposes.

10 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

We had the Apple 2C. Antiques compared to those shiny colourful things

10 years ago | Likes 4 Dislikes 0

My school had a Commodore 64 or some other old computer. Had a weird fishing game on it. And a game where it told you how high fish jump.

10 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

My middle school had iMacs. This was back when Apple was in the habit of donating computers.

10 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

At my school, when we had computer lab time, people would always call dibs on the "color" computer, which meant "4 colors on the screen"

10 years ago | Likes 15 Dislikes 0

I remember having to use dos for everything. :P

10 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

We certainly didn't have a mouse, or even a GUI, but I don't know that it was literally DOS we used. I think we just booted from the floppy.

10 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

Wow. Booting from floppy, that's is old school.

10 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

The mechanical pencil syringe trick is still great.

10 years ago | Likes 1313 Dislikes 3

and i still use multi-colour pens

10 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 1

Makes it even better that he has a Mario Party shirt on

10 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 1

My only trick was pushing the lead up my tear canal.(Don't do this kid's if it break.. you are in trouble)

10 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

in college. can confirm. still awesome.

10 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

I'm 43. I still do this almost daily :P

10 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Get em started early

10 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

One of my school chums attempted to do this with a sharpened non-mechanical pencil. I don't know how big the injury was but the teacher 1/2

10 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

had to take her to the school nurse. (She was next door, the teacher appeared at our door and said "this silly girl has stabbed herself")

10 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

Trick?!

10 years ago | Likes 5 Dislikes 3

You mean not everyone else has been jabbing graphite into their arms? Good thing I stopped using led pencils.

10 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

Magic pure magic

10 years ago | Likes 4 Dislikes 0

As an adult, I bought a pen that looked like a syringe. Used it in college. I'm cool. I'm hip. I'm with it

10 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

I did this in front of my students today. Then, an hour later, I saw all of them trying it. I didn't know whether to be ashamed or proud.

10 years ago | Likes 41 Dislikes 1

Well... As long as they don't know what heroin is yet, it should be harmless.

10 years ago | Likes 7 Dislikes 0

Kids shouldn't even have the idea of what drugs are! or sex! We should keep these SINS from ever entering their minds then they'll be safe

10 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 1

I actually have a piece of graphite stuck in my leg from doing this in grade 2. It looms like a blue freckle

10 years ago | Likes 8 Dislikes 0

This is what the parents and teachers warned us about!

10 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

Have you seen or asked anyone about it? A slow and steady exposure to graphite might have terrible health effects :/

10 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

It's such a small piece

10 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

I did. And they would have to do a 2inch by 2 inch cuts to remove it. They figure it's encased in scar tissue so I'm good.

10 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

*sigh of relief*

10 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

Graphite is just carbon, isn't it? What terrible health effects can that have?

10 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 1

After doing some light research... None, really. I just saw the comment and got worried. Sometimes, its not harmless graphite.

10 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

I've had a pice smack in the middle of my palm. Only grew out in my mid-20s. Never felt a thing tough. I kinda miss it now :'-/

10 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

Until the one time your coordination is shit and you don't press the back haha

10 years ago | Likes 173 Dislikes 1

I did that on accident until I started doing it on purpose to scare people that knew about the trick. It never made me bleed or left marks

10 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

I googled { draw blood funny gif } cuz i'm lazy and dont have a response gif from imgur and i found this gold

10 years ago | Likes 7 Dislikes 0

Aaand set to wallpaper. Thanks!

10 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

I'm really high and I thought you said lady instead of lazy so I was confused.

10 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

I prefer the "impaled by lead" trick- click 1/2"-1" of lead, poke your skin (back of hand works well) and twist it around. Don't puncture

10 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

Commenting for experimenting..

10 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

I hope my instructions are explicit enough. I looked for a video to link. Nobody know the trick, or I don't know what my search terms well..

10 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

It might hurt a bit, but you need to get the lead stuck in that loose skin. Hold the end of the pencil in place with you chin or head.

10 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

keeping the pencil perpendicular to your skin, flick the pencil away from you (let it fall wherever) and the lead should be stuck in you.

10 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

Now pretend you have been stabbed. Or hold your pencil on the other side as if it is piercing your hand.
