On Tuesday, the Toronto Maple Leafs played the Nashville Predators at home. During the playing of The Star Spangled Banner the microphone went out. The Canadian filled arena then proceeded to sing the rest of the American national anthem themselves.

Thank you for giving America that moment of pride to hear our national anthem through to the end. The fact that you knew the lyrics and did not hesitate to continue the song makes me even more proud to call you neighbor.

If you're curious like me, below are the lyrics to the Canadian national anthem, 'O Canada'

O Canada!
Our home and native land!
True patriot love in all thy sons command.

With glowing hearts we see thee rise,
The True North strong and free!

From far and wide,
O Canada, we stand on guard for thee.

God keep our land glorious and free!
O Canada, we stand on guard for thee.
O Canada, we stand on guard for thee.

The Leafs were also kinda enough to take a 9-2 drubbing as a way of saying sorry for the mishap. Canadians, so polite.

Our anthem looks so short in comparison. Especially considering the American one has, like 10 more verses.

We learned the song from your television show and movies.

Don't be, your countrymen are amazing, there's just one exception that has sucked so bad on his own that he tipped the balance to neutral

That's good. An anthem can be easy to sing and still beautiful, and more people will want to sing along to it
