8 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

8 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

8 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 1

8 years ago | Likes 4 Dislikes 0

Tuner and mixer still work just fine .

8 years ago | Likes 4 Dislikes 1

That's still the stereo I want

8 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 1

My neighbour still has a tower like this and is really proud of it! He's in his 70s and a genuine great guy.

8 years ago | Likes 4 Dislikes 0

I do

8 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

Marantz anyone?

8 years ago | Likes 5 Dislikes 0

Marantz and Dennon and Pioneer. And McIntosh if I could afford it

8 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

Nakamichi cassette deck, TEAC reel to reel and Advent speakers. None of which I could afford. I did have a busted-ass 8 track!

8 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

My older brother had that same setup!

2 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

I also remember when the brushed aluminum look changed to black. And it has never gone back.

8 years ago | Likes 10 Dislikes 1

Technics? =)

8 years ago | Likes 8 Dislikes 0

Don't sweat it

8 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 1

8 years ago | Likes 4 Dislikes 0

8 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

8 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

My Parents still own a old Stereo set... still use it. as it does the job just perfectly

8 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Shewt I still want one of these

8 years ago | Likes 318 Dislikes 2

Late 80's Sony system? They were shit then and I would say they are shit now but they didn't last that long.

8 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 3

+1 just for "Shewt"

8 years ago | Likes 5 Dislikes 0

Trece

8 years ago | Likes 6 Dislikes 0

You are not alone

8 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

Yeah, I still want high-quality audio and I have no desire to play shitty music through a shitty bluetooth speaker from a shitty phone.

8 years ago | Likes 12 Dislikes 1

I wish I didn't have to settle for it but my good stereo is to much for an apt. N when I get a little sauced I wanna hear good music loud!

8 years ago | Likes 10 Dislikes 0

I'm a Technics guy myself but that does look pretty sweet.

8 years ago | Likes 11 Dislikes 0

Technics was my go to when doing college radio; reliable! A quarter turn was precisely a quarter turn, my segues were smooth as can be.

8 years ago | Likes 5 Dislikes 0

I like JVC/Panasonic gear, but I used to repair all the old equipment and technics + sony were both good shit

8 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Panasonic = Technics

8 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

Yeah, that slipped my mind, because JVC also was Panasonic for a while. I lost track.

8 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

they should have just called it all Matsushita and had done with it

8 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

My dad still has some of that.

8 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Sure I remember! And of course, we kids weren't allowed to touch it!

8 years ago | Likes 79 Dislikes 1

My dad had one of those and God help us if we touched it. I managed to brake the glass door and the turn table on it......inevitable really!

8 years ago | Likes 11 Dislikes 0

You broke the turntable. If he never spoke to you again, I don't blame him.

8 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

so... your ex-Dad then? cause after that, didnt he disown you?

8 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

No, just got a beating. Well, it was the 70's

8 years ago | Likes 4 Dislikes 0

8 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

8 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Same here

8 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Yep, just played a Simon and Garfunkel record yesterday.

8 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Same here, took it over from my parents, including the sturdy as hell record player and awesome speakers..

8 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

Today is my 40th birthday.

8 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

at least you're still at the forefront of this technology - the watts have gone up, nothing else has been improvable for basically 30 years

8 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Back in 1983 my dad got his hand mangled in an industrial accident because he was told to use an empty bucket as a step stool, the resulting

8 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

lawsuit money bought him two things, a brand new 1985 Ford Escort, and a kick ass sound system that was working fine in 2007 when my mom

8 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

forced him to get rid of it during a move. He had every King Crimson vinyl ever made, Talking Heads, etc, all out in the trash.

8 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

Noooooooo!

8 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Do you also have a dead hooker in your bed room?

8 years ago | Likes 4 Dislikes 0

Nah he just has drugs

8 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Why would you ask me that like it's not normal? You don't?

8 years ago | Likes 4 Dislikes 0

Sorry let me rephrase that. Do you have a dead hooker in your bed room also?

8 years ago | Likes 4 Dislikes 0

Well yeah, they are the best kind. You don't have to pay them after you are done with them. And they will be there tomorrow.

8 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

I have one and i am 19 so no

8 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

I still want that. The sound missing from Bluetooth and wireless drives me crazy

8 years ago | Likes 34 Dislikes 1

What sound missing?

8 years ago | Likes 9 Dislikes 4

Wifi streaming still not enough for ya? Even at 96k +?

8 years ago | Likes 9 Dislikes 1

96k is great if it ain't downsampled prior.

8 years ago | Likes 6 Dislikes 0

Um... what? It's all about the codec. Saying bluetooth is missing "sound" is like saying your paint brush is missing color.

8 years ago | Likes 7 Dislikes 7

Eh that's not true though. There's a reason all the high end stuff is still wired.

8 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 3

A2DP transcodes so source is irrelevant. Unless both sender/receiver supports LDAC or aptX you're getting bad quality. 1/2

8 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Of those two, only LDAC sounds somewhat lossless at close ranges, and I've finally got a phone a headphones that both support it.

8 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

What I'm trying to say is, if all there is is bristle but you want kolinsky then paintbrush really isn't good.

8 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

That's exactly what I am saying. You can't blame cheap options for bad quality if the standards support options that can produce goodquality

8 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

the audio quality is dependant on the detail of the coding algorithm and the content of the audio that goes in at the start

8 years ago | Likes 9 Dislikes 0

Looks up APT X
