We thought the first dog was bad enough because she wouldn't swallow the last mouthful of water she just carried it around until the next time she'd open her mouth and splash it all over the floor or you.
Then the puppy came along and started carrying and throwing her full water dish around the house.
Then there was our family dog who would drink, look up at you, and squish the last mouthful of water through her jowls and all over the floor. We loved her dearly despite the constant threat of Wet Sock any time we walked anywhere remotely near her water dish.
I should teach my german shepherd this. But she's 11 and double-digit-dogs get to do whatever they want. But for the last 11 years she has put her whole bottom jaw in the water, swallowed until she was done, then walked away with water RUNNING out of her mouth just wandering around the house like she pays bills.
I taught my dog to wipe his butt before he goes back inside lol. He used to always do it on the carpet when he came in so I just added the command "wipe your butt" to something he was already doing so now he does before we go in.
I had a pibble that would rub her drooly mouth on my leg when she was little and I'd recoil because it was cold and startled me. eventually she learned on her own to wipe her mouth after drinking so her mouth wasn't so wet when she put her head on my leg

Such a sweet girl

I love the thirsty schlorping sounds

Cool. That other bowl is the dog's food bowl covered with the towel, so that's probably why the dog "wipes" it's snoot. Would like nom if possible.

Thats one thing I wish we managed to train our dog to do. Small chance now...
twoamartist
If only I could teach my dog to wipe the floor!
Unitedite
I love that even in different languages the cadence when speaking to a dog is pretty much the same.

I don't trust people who don't talk to their dogs like that

People have these well behaved dogs meanwhile mine just tossed his food bowl …again
batzthehooman
He sounds like a good doggo.

My parents have a german shepard. She gets more water on the floor than in her mouth. They need this.
MrStealYourGiF
Practical skills that should be added to doggy school curriculums, perhaps in schlop class.

Thank you very much for the original sounds, and no sappy music or stupid AI-voiceover.

Good thing too, otherwise her nose would be cold and wet
NacLac
My greyhound would wipe her face after eating. Right to one of her beds and rub her face all over it.
HavocWraith
Gotta clean up the face! Mine does it too
DasBeaker
So wish my dog would learn this.
kennelbreach
Training! Doesn't hurt to put a towel setup like in the video, and at least introduce your dog to the idea.
jt42
Yeah, our dog drips water everywhere, especially after a run.
DasBeaker
Same lol. I love her but good lord I’d like not to have a water hazard in the hallway at 2 in the morning.
