Merry Christmas from the OR!

Dec 25, 2016 4:25 PM

Edit: Thanks for all the holiday wishes! I'm a resident on ortho this month. My "hat" is the frame for a large sterile suit for cases involving major joints like hip and knee replacements. The one thing I like about the suits is that you don't have to wear a mask over your mouth once you're scrubbed in. It even comes with an air conditioning fan to keep you cool during the case. Medicine is 100% nothing like Grey's Anatomy. We were called in for an emergency hip fracture this morning but I'm off call now and get to enjoy my Christmas.

Stryker hip implant? No good.

9 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

Trust me - a lot of times they're more attractive with the masks on.

We use them for knees too. It's mostly about how infectious the patient is.

9 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 1

Yep, I've worn the same for knees
