Had to say goodbye to my step dad this morning.. he fought a brave fight, and any man that can love someone else’s children unconditionally deserves Dad status in my books! He was the best!

He fought Idio pulmonary fibrosis and copd for a while and eventually had to be on oxygen 24/7. But he always had a smile or a laugh to share.

He loved my scaley pets

He encouraged my love of reptiles.. bet he never expected that one day I’d have a few .. but he loved them and was fascinated by thier little personalities. We are really going to miss him.. EDIT: Thankyou so much for the outpouring of love and positive vibes! I’m going to show my mom all of the amazing comments and support that has been given by the imgur family!

I wish I had a cool stepdad like this. Mine was a douche. Rest easy cool step dad!

I don't know if it helps but someone once said to me; "They didn't leave the house, he's just in a different room."

My best dad was my second father. He didn’t have to adopt me, but every day I’m glad he did. I’m sorry for your loss @op

Being a stepdad must run in the family

8 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

Well i do get my eyes from him. I actually predict ome of my son's will become a stepdad

8 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

Your eyes? Also I want to clarify my joke was not to spite your comment, it's very sweet. But I'm an ass so what can you do

8 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

I took it as that. People use to tell me I had his eyes its funny, and people can't beleve my youngest isn't blood as he's a clone of me

8 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

He might not be blood, but his influence and love will shine in you :)

8 years ago | Likes 27 Dislikes 0

This is really sweet

WHY are we not treating Age as a disease? How many millions more must wither and die from this disease?

8 years ago | Likes 12 Dislikes 5

It's part of the human experience. What makes life special if it cannot end?

8 years ago | Likes 6 Dislikes 2

Oh come on. Who wouldn't wanna avoid death and live forever? I'd be so much happier knowing I won't die one day.

8 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 1

And watch my wife die? And my kids? And their kids? Hard pass on that tragedy.

8 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 1

IMO it's worth it.Why do you think you wouldn't watch your wife die anyway? Could be either way.

8 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Sorry for your loss...i still can't deal with my grandmother (mother of my dad) and her sister being gone for the last 5 years...

8 years ago | Likes 6 Dislikes 0

Christmas time is specially tough...i even miss the last times where they really had some troubles while eating and all of that...

8 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

But their smiles made everything good..like there was no troubles at all.

Just cool you felt the need to make that completely irrelevant statement about a person who didn't even mention smoking in their message.
