Yes, she has water on the ground next to her food. But she also requires a special coffee table water or she will help herself to our beverages. Rumbles is a special lady.

You know they dig in their shit box with those paws...

My cat does the exact same thing.

Typical cat showing us the dark side of her moon.

5 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Our cat only drinks out of the kitchen faucet. He’s so spoiled

Rumbles is doing what she thinks it takes to hang with family....she is watching and tries to emulate

My cat used to drink out of the fishbowl, fish and all in it. No fishy, no drinky strange enough.

I went so far as to buy one of those water fountains. They kept knocking over my glasses so now it's all water bottles.

She’s just joining the social convivialities.

5 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

My kitty does this too!! Husband thinks it’s weird so it’s our nighttime ritual he doesn’t know about mwahaha

Lol my adult daughter complains that I treat my dog better than I did her growing up. I say "The dog has never slammed the door on me"

5 years ago | Likes 41 Dislikes 0

She can’t wait to use that line on her children, I imagine.

Had two older lady cats that for a while would only drink ice water out of glass glasses.

"Swing away Merrill. Merrill... swing away."

I have one that wants our water... I should get a cup just for him.

5 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

I think you mean Spoiled lady. Lol

5 years ago | Likes 18 Dislikes 0

She sees her family drinking from cups and rightly concludes she should too☕

5 years ago | Likes 117 Dislikes 2

When i was a toddler, I thought adults were just licking cups to get the liquid inside, so I would do the same

5 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

She specialllllllle.

One of my cats will almost exclusively drink from a glass. If I pour a glass for myself she jumps on the counter to try and get to it!

5 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Don't let her on the coffee table? That and counters were the first off limits areas for my cat

5 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 1

My cat would just knock it over.

5 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Have a fountain and water bowl but 3 of my fosters drink out of my water glass as a preference so bring out2 glasses

5 years ago | Likes 4 Dislikes 0

Our cats drink from the fish bowl on the kitchen counter... Our beta Stolice doesn't mind and the cats don't try and eat him.. It's strange.

Loving the Pink Floyd coaster

Everyone deserves coffee table water.

5 years ago | Likes 6 Dislikes 0

I always have to have two glasses sitting out otherwise my cat will drink all of my water especially when there’s ice in it

5 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

*sigh* Rumble is probably suffering from defective kidneys. It took me two cats dying from kidney failure to learn that drinking H2O in 1/2

5 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

2/2 excess is generally a sign of advanced kidney failure. Cats in the wild don't drink much water as they obtain it from prey. ?

5 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Try putting her water bowl away from her food bowl. Cats instinctively take their pry away from their water source, also try a cat fountain

5 years ago | Likes 333 Dislikes 2

my cat will drink from any open top cup in the middle of the night and knock it over every time. his water is not near his food

5 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

Depends on the cat

5 years ago | Likes 22 Dislikes 0

I tried a cat fountain. It hurt my neck so I went back to a cup.

This, my kitty only drinks the dogs water. Never after the dog drank, so he meows for me to clean the bowl and put fresh water everytime.

5 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

Yup!! Removed those paired food bowls and put their water on the opposite side of the room from their food. They drink considerably more!

5 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

They say cats a liquid, but I don;t think a fountain would work

5 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

Some dogs and cats drink more fluid if moving water

5 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

She uses both

5 years ago | Likes 86 Dislikes 0

Mine is the same. Porcelain fountain and plastic. Still tries to steal my water I put on my bedside.

5 years ago | Likes 12 Dislikes 0

Don't put cat food by water. They naturally don't eat food near water because in the wild that food is almost always spoiled.

5 years ago | Likes 66 Dislikes 3

My Shia prefers it near, though I have a secondary water bowl for him and his brother. They seem to like variety.

5 years ago | Likes 4 Dislikes 0

She still uses the one by her food, too.

5 years ago | Likes 23 Dislikes 0

I think this person is explaining a remedy to your situation

5 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Ya they will still use it, just against their instincts. Trust me, separate food and water and kitty will thanks you

5 years ago | Likes 11 Dislikes 1

FWIW, I have a fountain, a glass bowl, a tall pitcher for cat waters and they still like the stale water in the corner that I do not wash

5 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

the bowl,. I call it their swill water. They use them all, but I see them in the swill more often than any of the others.

5 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

I don't wash the bowl, I just keep adding to it when it's very low. Ok I do wash it, maybe every few weeks. I think they think they're

5 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

in the wild having to forage for their water. They seem to like having to work for it. I put obstacles in the way of their pitcher water.
