Hi Imgur. A while back I remember seeing "A Day in _____" from all over the world. I thought it was cool and wanted to show my life a bit.

Now mine is going to be a bit different since my job isn't the most stable in Turkey and I go all over the city while working. So you will see different seasons and crowds, but it is over all the main routes I take.

Also previous people took photos of their house/flat. I don't want to do that. So instead, here is a window view from my flat!

Here is another view without snow.

Also that land you see across the water from the right side? That's still Istanbul.

As I leave the flat, I see this one trying to go through everyone's trash. This is her "Aww, I got caught again" face.

My usual route from home to work requires me to go a small uphill, then get on metro (subway) and then shift to metro bus.

Here we are waiting for our ride to be. During rush hours it usually does get this crowded even though the metro arrives every 3-5 minutes at a time. Imagine it being similar to Tokyo metros/subways, minus people being hired to shove people in.

Here is what a metro cart looks on holidays. This is the only time I can see the actual interior.

So. Much. Space!

After the metro I get off and battle my way to a metro bus.

I wasn't kidding about the battle part... Luckily it is this bad most of the time. Still crowded though.

This is one of the earlier mornings of commute right before rush hour. Otherwise you see the bar and someone's butt.

In Istanbul, if you are from the Asian side, there are only three ways to get to the European side. They are underground metros, crossing one of the three bridges (but no one likes to talk about the third bridge), or by boats. Since I commute 3-4 hours a day, metrobuses/metros are better for my sanity.

Now my profession involves with 3D modeling. Turkey would like to tackle on the gaming industry as well as VR simulation. Since it is new, most companies don't want non-approved photos leaked, and thus, I can't show you my previous offices.

So instead here is a photo of me going home on a double decker bus.

And a photo somewhere in Taksim. I was taking a breather from an indoor restaurant that slowly changes into a party bar. If I recall this was taken around 10-11pm and the night life has just begun.

I also make my own food because fast food and restaurants in Istanbul are expensive. I mean do you have the money to spend minimum 300 tl a week to eat out? For most of us who get tl as our wages, the answer is hell no.

Usually make food during the weekend then toss them in the fridge or freezer. Here we have stuffed cheese meatballs. Under the pool of sauce are mushrooms, onions, red peppers, and egg plant.

Cat Tax! and a couple of other things!

I know this is probably gonna get ignored and buried, but I thought of the other stories being so cool and informative, so... I added mine. If anything I might help people being grateful that they don't need to commute 3-4 hrs a day to get to work. XD

Have a great start of the week!

Thanks for the tour.

These are great, thank you for sharing! How did the attempted coup and instability affect your day to day life?

8 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

Honestly, where I lived, I was able to sleep through a good chunk of the coup. Sure there were sonic booms, and bang bang noise, but

I grew up south, a bit south east of Turkey. I am kinda use to it, hence my ability to sleep. Now we are in a economy depression. Because of

that it is very difficult for start up companies to stay stable esp if they have international influence... like the gaming industry.

But ppl can still go to the streets and eat as they please. For me the biggest problem is censorship and banning sites such as PayPal.

Didn't Turkey had a economic growth of 11% in 2017? On of the greatest growth than any other of the world 20 biggest economies.

Gotcha. Thank you for clarifying. I'm glad that it isn't as bad as some media outlets make it out to be and that you are able to still go
