We all have bad days at work. Don't let someone tell you you're not allowed to think your job is hard just because they think theirs is harder.

Good and bad are transient. I hate baby boomers who just say "you should feel good that you have a job". Doesn't make my life suck less.

What a wise thing to say

I'm gonna call this meme "Emotionally Supportive Tough Guy"

8 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Dat second tag

8 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

Ya, but have you ever taught children?

I work as a debt collector in a call center. It's not an easy job. But it's got it's pros, its changed the way I speak entirely. Assertive

I've worked both desk jobs and intense manual labor. I'll take mindless labor over the stress of office work anyday.

8 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Finding a job is the most difficult job :(

8 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

There is always that one asshole.... “you think you’re job is hard” and then proceeds to elaborate on how much harder they have it

I just wish we were working as a species to attain the tech that would allow us freedom to explore the world, not be wageslaves.

8 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 1

"Stop complaining, people have it worse!" could also be, "Stop being happy, people have it better!"

8 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

i really needed to hear this today, so thank you!

8 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

I had a long conversation the other day about work and pay and how the difficulty of your job doesn’t necessarily equate more pay.

My mother never got how physical waitressing was until she visited on a busy Saturday. NO, I'm not going to slow down, or I'll never leave.

8 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

I forever respect the grit, training and moxie of nurses... but as their supply tech... SOME OF Y'ALL DUMB AS FUUUUUUUUUCK.

8 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

My ex husband did this to me for YEARS...

8 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

I onno man...getting screamed at for the death of a kid, when you gave everything you had to save them, is pretty up there

8 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 1

It always pisses me off when people say the streets they grew up on were 'like a warzone', and that they know what real combat feels like.

8 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 1

I work in a horse barn cleaning stalls. I've worked retail in the past. I will NEVER go back to retail. Fuck retail in the ass with a cactus

8 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

Used to be Marine Infantry now a software engineer. There are days I wish I was back sleeping in foxholes.

8 years ago | Likes 11 Dislikes 0

This ty some handle physical labor well wile others handle desk work. Be you.

8 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

Aww thanks guy. =)

8 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

Coffee maker has been broken all week. It sucks.

8 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

My job is easy, too easy. That's what makes it difficult, The boredom.

8 years ago | Likes 5 Dislikes 0

My job is easy. I love my job. Kudos to those sticking with their tough jobs. My fiance is one of them. She gets daily shit from her bosses.

8 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

She's been there 8 years. The company has legal issues with verbal harassment. Owner is a complete asshole.

8 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

I was offered the red carpet into politics, I declined. I'd rather shovel sh!t then speak it every day. Perspective rules supreme.

8 years ago | Likes 9 Dislikes 2

And thats why politics fails, because everyone assumes it will fail and nobody decent will go in it.

8 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

What role?

8 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

Going into state government which can lead into federal. (Australia)

8 years ago | Likes 4 Dislikes 0

I did retail for 20 years. Now I work for a political party. It is a toxic environment but retail has offered me valuable lessons...

8 years ago | Likes 5 Dislikes 0

...in handling people in politics.

8 years ago | Likes 4 Dislikes 0

I can understand that. I know members of our national parliament personally and they have a very long workweek. 50-60 hours. I don't envy>

8 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

them. (Of course it depends on the person. There are others who don't take their job as seriously.)

8 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

but... i don't have a job because no one is hiring

8 years ago | Likes 4 Dislikes 0

No one? At all?

8 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Ask a boomer. It's your fault for being lazy, shiftless, and stupid. Seriously though, I may be about to be in the same boat. Good Luck.

8 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

that's tough too

8 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

Just got laid off. I understand what you're saying. Put in quite a few applications and haven't heard anything.

8 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

Pay being equal, I'd rather work in construction labor than customer service. I'd get in shape or I'd Die.

8 years ago | Likes 84 Dislikes 3

meh. Probably wouldn't die, as long as your boss isn't a cunt that treats you as disposable.

8 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

I quit being a meat cutter 2 years ago to become a union electrician. Some days are tough, but worth every second. Pays damn good, too.

8 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

Been working for att as an installer for 4 years, love it. Had to get away from the IT cubicle I did previous

8 years ago | Likes 7 Dislikes 0

Done both, earned more in construction but customer service is a lot more taxing

8 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

As a UPSer (preload, not driving), I do good manual labor AND I get paid well AND benefits. I enjoy my job.

8 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Went from service to labour intensive work. Wouldn't want to go back. My arms are jacked.

8 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

After customer service you go "Yes! Freedom! I hate customers!" After construction you lay down and ache until dawn to do it again.

8 years ago | Likes 6 Dislikes 0

Yeah, but I can cuss at work. and yell at my coworkers.

8 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

Idk sometimes after customer service I lay down and ache until whenever-the-fuck I work next. And the hatred thing.

8 years ago | Likes 4 Dislikes 0

That's a more extreme example possibly, but makes a point.

8 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

Construction labourer for ten years. Until you get into a trade, you're mostly literally cleaning up other people's messes all day.

8 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Construction is a way better job imo (i haven't done either)

8 years ago | Likes 6 Dislikes 1

It's not trust its not worth the money half the time.

8 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Bad hours?

8 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Then one day you wake up at 28 and everything hurts. And it never stops.

8 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

I turned 40 recently. Now, I'm not saying I'm in better shape than when I was your age, but I'm not in perma-pain. Maybe talk to a doc? 1+

8 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

2/2 If it's mild aches increasing in frequency/severity, that's one thing. But there are things that can slowly screw you long-term.

8 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

In construction you lear a ton of important life skills. Like how to fix a hole in a wall. Or how to replace a plug or light switch.

8 years ago | Likes 11 Dislikes 1

In customer service you learn that humans are pathetic, and that includes people who say dumb shit like you

8 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 1

Or how 6 men can do the job of 1.

8 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

I got that from YouTube and didn't have to fuck my back up to get there.

8 years ago | Likes 5 Dislikes 1

Yeah, but it's better to work on your own place when it's the 1,000th time you've done a particular task than when it's the first.

8 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Yea tape and bedding is so much easier if you get taught by someone that has done it for 20 years.

8 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Work was hard back in the day. But then you saved 2 wages for the down payment on a house and 3 wages got you a brand new car.

8 years ago | Likes 27 Dislikes 5

I'm not even talking about "back then" to now. I'm talking about how just because someone works a physically demanding job doesn't mean that

8 years ago | Likes 17 Dislikes 0

another person who works retail or in an office doesn't also have challenges worth being stressed over. All jobs have difficult aspects.

8 years ago | Likes 18 Dislikes 0

I think physical stress is more relatable and tangible than mental stress. That's why people might think the former sucks

8 years ago | Likes 11 Dislikes 0

No one's sayin you are. They're just talking about the old fat boomers bitching about how all the young people got it easy while they're...

8 years ago | Likes 7 Dislikes 0

busy paying them shit wages and shit benefits and spending them into debt slavery unto the seventh generation and treating them like shit.

8 years ago | Likes 9 Dislikes 0

Retail is hell

8 years ago | Likes 7 Dislikes 2

I've never worked in retail but it is easy to know it indeed is hell

8 years ago | Likes 6 Dislikes 0

If you've ever been *to* retail, and seen a bad customer... it's your facebook memory of the week... and their Tuesday. :)
