They've Drunk the Koolaid

So San Francisco has this public transportation system called BART. Recently there have been a number of violent robberies on its train services. Instead of releasing video surveillance of the incident as is common to help identify the perpetrators, BART withheld the video so as not to "perpetuate racial stereotypes". After some backlash they tried to update it by saying it was really due to some of the suspects being minors, however their original comments are public. I want to ask how as a society we have become so politically correct we can't release video evidence of an unsolved crime being commited because it might make a group of people look bad. Security cameras are not racist, they can't be, they just record the facts. How can the undeniable, provable, recorded facts be racist. If they'd released the video, no sane citizen would have even commented on race. But now we can't show footage of criminals still on the loose because they're a minority and it might be mean to other minorities. This isn't about race, it's about political correctness gone too far. It has stopped being constructive and has started to actively hurt society. Why is common sense being abandoned.
