We are incredibly fortunate to have been born on Earth. Can you imagine what it would be like to be born on a different planet? Indeed, geography shapes our destiny.

You don't know you're from a death world until you leave it.

Geography and timing shaped. If a billion years from now the earth is scorched and mars is just right the Martians will say the same thing.

That’s not how that works, man.

I wonder how many people are born on the sun each year

It must be so boring. Same temperature:) we have seasons

I imagine if we had been spawned onto a different planet that we would have adapted biologically to that environment and we'd be saying the same thing about earth

I agree.

What are the odds we’d be born on a planet that supports life?

Since we're here… 100%.

Well the chances of being born on a planet that doesn't support life is pretty low, so probably pretty high.

100% chance of all life born in the universe is born on a planet that can support life, or failing that an artificially created life supporting environment

The Sun and Pluto are not Planets. Just sayin.

That all depends on how you define planet. https://xkcd.com/3063/

I go with whatever definitions given by astronomers.

The comment was in agreement, not being contrarian.

The definition of a planet adopted by the IAU says a planet must do three things. 1: It must orbit a star (in our cosmic neighborhood, the Sun). 2: It must be big enough to have enough gravity to force it into a spherical shape. 3: It must be big enough that its gravity has cleared away any other objects of a similar size near its orbit around the Sun.

Yes, I did. It's one of the not funny ones from xkcd.

Oh, I see you don't have a sense of humor. Got it.
