This is the only thing I can find that resembles a maker/artist signature.

Oh. It says, “Made in China”. Who knew?

Yeah, that’s haunted

I have one of these tables. My grandparents brought it back from China I think

My parents have this in black. Bought it in the 80's in China Town, SF. Was around $350 back then

6 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

That's really cool, how haunted is your house now?

6 years ago | Likes 9 Dislikes 0

No falling objects or strange noises but the security cameras have been acting fishy...

6 years ago | Likes 4 Dislikes 0

LooksLike something my grandmother got in Bali

6 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

Imagine how much opium that table has had on it.

6 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 1

I’m pretty bummed that your comment doesn’t have more likes. Haha

6 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

I need to start going to garage sales.

6 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

Not bad for 3.50

6 years ago | Likes 19 Dislikes 7

>_>

6 years ago | Likes 4 Dislikes 2

My parents have one just like it. In 80’s having some Asian accent pieces was In. Asian furniture store wants $3k. Parents paid $300.

6 years ago | Likes 5 Dislikes 0

It’s actually a really cool piece to be honest and I enjoy looking at it. Some are better quality than others.

6 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

That means courage. I got it as a tattoo in 1994.

6 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

we need to talk, that is the exact set my dad had in our house in the 70s, reqally, i grew up with that table

6 years ago | Likes 9 Dislikes 0

Mah jong table.

6 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

My mom used to have this EXACT table but it was black and painted with gold accents while the relief under the glass was super colorful

6 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 1

Woah that sounds pretty cool!

6 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 1

How much!

6 years ago | Likes 12 Dislikes 4

Now find out when Antique Roadshow will be in your area

6 years ago | Likes 4 Dislikes 0

Thought of that but I had faith in my fellow redditors to help since I’m too impatient to wait. Haha

6 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Don't bother. Mediocre carving. Cheap varnish. Poor wood joinery.

and NO CAPES

6 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

Well that's a meme

6 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 2

Sneaky way to get that in … deserves a down post for that.

6 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 1

Doesn't look like a garage to me.

6 years ago | Likes 55 Dislikes 3

I agree. It looks more like a table with matching stools.

6 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

It's not, it's a sail for a garage!

6 years ago | Likes 4 Dislikes 1

I didn’t take the picture at the garage sale.

6 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 1

My grandmother has literally the exact same one! She's had it since I was a kid! (I'm 26) I've never seen another one before!

6 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 1

Cool! 26 here too, friend.

6 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 1

My wife and I found a triple chest set with the same type of art engravings. Does it smell Smokey? If so, it should be made out of Camphor.

6 years ago | Likes 4 Dislikes 0

I haven’t noticed a scent like that within general distance from it but I’ll take a closer sniff tomorrow. Haha

6 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

You wouldn't happen to have brought his in NSW Australia would you?

6 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

Nope. Oklahoma

6 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

My friend, 96, had one of those almost identical, her husband brought in Singapore approx 1950 ish. It was stolen a few years back.

6 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

It was valued massively over what you got it for.

6 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

Close

6 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

No joke my grandma has that EXACT same piece

6 years ago | Likes 152 Dislikes 3

So did my aunt!

6 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

My land lord has one, too!

6 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

I was just coming here to post my great grandma had this same one!

6 years ago | Likes 4 Dislikes 2

Mine too. Completely serious.

6 years ago | Likes 11 Dislikes 0

Mine too!

6 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

Me too. I still remember sitting around it with my cousins eating in the living room.

6 years ago | Likes 8 Dislikes 0

Mine too- or at least she did

6 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

Mine too (in Portugal).

6 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

My Mom had one too. Nice replica. Bought in the 70's 400.00 comes to mind.

6 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

I tried looking it up and found ones very similar but had little things different here and there. Like on the edge the people on the edge

6 years ago | Likes 7 Dislikes 0

The people along the edge, is a story about an old couple. Could be BS my Mom made up stories

6 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Damn.. A lot of people have this. Maybe it's from Pier 1.

6 years ago | Likes 23 Dislikes 0

Your grandma HAD that exact same piece, now she has 3.50.

6 years ago | Likes 5 Dislikes 3

My Italian grandparents have it too. In the UK here

6 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

My dads got the exact same on too will add pics monday

6 years ago | Likes 21 Dislikes 0

.

6 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

Me too!

6 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Bought it brand new while in Hong Kong in the late 70’s and shipped back over to the UK.

6 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

My Korean neighbor has the exact same one

6 years ago | Likes 14 Dislikes 0

I have a similar chest that I got when I lived in South Korea. The carvings tell a Korean fairytale.

6 years ago | Likes 7 Dislikes 0

How much did she pay?

6 years ago | Likes 61 Dislikes 2

Most likely 3.50

6 years ago | Likes 82 Dislikes 13

Dammit Jim! We need an answer, not an old meme!

6 years ago | Likes 4 Dislikes 1

You can't post this without some initial research and the price you paid, c'mon this is antique/ interesting object blue balls

6 years ago | Likes 159 Dislikes 0

It's some 70's era cheapo pop furniture. It's not worth anything.

6 years ago | Likes 18 Dislikes 8

Father in law has the exact table

6 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

Chinese, one of only a handful of pieces which survived the Ming dynasty purge of all non-vase crafts.

6 years ago | Likes 32 Dislikes 2

You can tell by the made in Taiwan on the bottom

6 years ago | Likes 14 Dislikes 0

I wouldn’t have posted this if I’d been successful in finding any info. I’m not trolling either. Got better things to do.

6 years ago | Likes 22 Dislikes 2

How much did you pay?

6 years ago | Likes 6 Dislikes 0

$100

6 years ago | Likes 5 Dislikes 0

That. Is a great find. If it's solid wood it's easily worth 5 times that. Maybe even more.
