Just a little sliver before totality

Boom! Totality

Near completion of the totality

Time to put the filter back on.

A few pictures from my other camera.

These are a few random unedited pictures. I really have not had much of a chance to even look at them yet.
Although I am sure you all hate the sun right now, if anyone is interested I can post more later.
These were taken at southern hills golf course in Cookeville, Tennessee. Made a last minute decision to ditch St Louis and move to better weather. From the sounds of it I chose wisely.

Omg stop it with the eclipse pictures. Its just a solar eclipse!!!

Side note, I know some of these pictures are not good. I have well over 1000 to go through. I just randomly exported a few.

I'm in Nashville, TN. Go OP! What camera set up are you using, if I might ask?

Don't you just love corona?

I love it! What's your setup?

These are actually the best ones I've seen yet,as far as detail of prominences.

Hey, part of the point of all the publicity was to have photos like these taken by amateurs. NASA etc want these. Not BS...

I don't know who to call (not Ghost busters anyway) but check it out.

Some of them look like the intro of Heroes

From now on, before climax, I will now scream, "Boom! Totality!" in your honor.

Uh, I'm going to complete.

8 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

Just as long as you don't say, "boom! Fatality!" we're good

Better make it epic every time.

Really amazing work. If you can enhance/magnify the prominences, I can't wait to see what's next.

Most of the pictures are hdr and in groups of three. So I imagine I will be able to do something with Lightroom when I get home.

I drove 6 hours to be in totality zone... and it rained. Oh well!

We ditched Kansas City last-minute and ended up in Ashland MO. Great pics! #boomtotality

Was the view good there? I know clouds popped up in a few places.

8 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Ashland turned out to be a great spot. A few scattered clouds but nothing to block the view

8 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

That is great, had a few block the eclipse early on, but was completely clear for the totality.

Sounds like a lot of people missed it due to clouds. I would have if I stayed in southern Illinois. I recommend trying to catch the next one

It was a bit further for me and I can't travel right now. I figure I'll make plans for the next total eclipse thats in range for me.

8 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

2024, not that far away

8 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

No it is not, and much closer for me. Got to start making plans sooner this time, was a mad dash to get everything ready.

Did you have to drive far? Also - What gear did you use to photograph it?
