Four young men from Calgary who stopped the attempted rape of a 15 year old girl.

These dudes from Calgary were skateboarding in a parking garage when they came across a man attacking a 15 year old girl. They stopped him, and one helped her while the other three chased down the man and held him until the police arrived. The four of them received an award last month from the Calgary police. Arnaud Nimenya, Carsyn Wright, James Hielema and Starlyn Rivas-Perez - Canada's finest!

Gwell done them. Also, this looks like it's taken from a college brochure

9 years ago | Likes 7 Dislikes 0

Since they're Canadians I hope they yelled ARE YOU SORRY?! in that rapist's face as they held him down.

9 years ago | Likes 7 Dislikes 0

I miss read the title as "Skaters, stop attempted rape of 15 year-old" Got very confused for a moment

9 years ago | Likes 8 Dislikes 0

Jeez so close to home! I'm from Edmonton. Crazy! Never heard anything on the news about this which is sad.

9 years ago | Likes 5 Dislikes 0

I'm from Calgary, and even I never heard about this! Nuts!

9 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Are they about to drop an album?

9 years ago | Likes 48 Dislikes 4

One Direction: America to Canada.

9 years ago | Likes 10 Dislikes 1

Can they just be a crime fighting team that cruises around Calgary on skateboards?

9 years ago | Likes 9 Dislikes 0

As a kid who used to skate, you can fuck someone's day up with a truck to the face. Just saying...

9 years ago | Likes 14 Dislikes 0

As a truck driver, I can confirm.

9 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

I'm glad they were there to help her....and they were recognized! Good guys! ????

9 years ago | Likes 4 Dislikes 0

Such a diverse group all they're missing is an Asian and Captain Planet.

9 years ago | Likes 10 Dislikes 2

Angels walk among us! My prayers go out to the young girl and her family as they heal from such a horrible experience.

9 years ago | Likes 4 Dislikes 0

Maybe the saddest part of this (aside from the assault) is that they were afraid of getting in trouble for attacking the attacker...

9 years ago | Likes 31 Dislikes 1

The legal system for most of the first world is set up to protect the criminal.

9 years ago | Likes 4 Dislikes 0

ya, sucks that the legal system is set up in a way where you have to second guess doing thing right thing

9 years ago | Likes 11 Dislikes 0

Sometimes doing the right thing involves unavoidable violence. Our justice system needs to understand that.

9 years ago | Likes 8 Dislikes 0

It does. There's still an investigation, as there should be, but the result was that they walked and received medals. Also as it should be

3 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

this seems like its another fake news story created by the Society for the Advancement of Multicultural Sk8ers. the scoundrels

9 years ago | Likes 4 Dislikes 0

Guy on the left looks like Marlo from The Wire.

9 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

I think if more attention was given to the (sweedish?) guys than to The Rapist Brock Turner, we would have more examples like this.

9 years ago | Likes 35 Dislikes 5

I thought the Swedish guys wanted to remain unknown? I remember them being terribly upset over the whole thing, one crying with the cops.

9 years ago | Likes 10 Dislikes 1

Which story is this? I missed it. The Swedish guys one, I mean.

9 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 1

Was the same story if brock the rapist. Swedish guys rescued the girl and caught brock in the act.

9 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

They are Swedish, and I agree! They saved her life, she said she drew two bicycles and put it on her wall to remember her two heroes

9 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

People prefer hearing shitty news. That's just how it works.

9 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

Which story is this? I missed it. The Swedish guys one, I mean.

9 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

exactly. Wrong emphasis by the media.

9 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

It was Swedish dudes that stopped him...but the scene was so fucked up they had a hard time talking about it

9 years ago | Likes 6 Dislikes 1

Ah. I'd missed that detail.

9 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

Yeah I admit it took me a min to understand the comment

And then the man mysteriously died of a heart attack

9 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

It's sad we have to celebrate something we should expect from a good person, but since people often walk by, start filming (1).

9 years ago | Likes 28 Dislikes 1

The same guy you stopped to save their life for would sue you for mental trauma caused by an accident you didn't take part in

9 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

But also want to add that filming it would help identify the perpetrator without the risk of being sued by anyone

9 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Crimes and accidents like It's nothing. Bit sad when you think about, but because of that necessary to show the society what we should (2)

9 years ago | Likes 14 Dislikes 1

Expect from them (3)

9 years ago | Likes 10 Dislikes 1

They thought they were going to get in trouble with the police for fighting with the attacker...and they STILL did it. +1

9 years ago | Likes 49 Dislikes 1

It's a pathetic country where you have to worry about getting in trouble with the state for doing the right thing.

9 years ago | Likes 6 Dislikes 7

Agreed...

9 years ago | Likes 5 Dislikes 5

Well, they did apologize profusely to the rapist as they beat him to a pulp.

9 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 1

hispanic, latino and african but lesser so compared to the other 4

9 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

9 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Europeon ethnicity, predominantly French and British Isles

9 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

What qualifies as ethnically Canadian? I'm genuinely curious.

9 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

Good question. Literally just self-identity. So a Jamaican-Canadian may identify ethnically as such; while a Metis or Quebecois as Canadian

9 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

So for example, my Metis wife identifies as Canadian and would be as such on our stats. But I'm a second-generation, so I choose not to

You can identify Canadian ads when you see a black perso, asian person, gay couple and someone with special needs in the same ad

Also American elementary school book covers

...and it's a beer commercial but nobody drinks.

No bigots? How exclusionary.

Welcome to Canada, where multiculturalism actually works most of the time.

9 years ago | Likes 82 Dislikes 5

That's why our nation is referred to as the cultural mosaic and not the melting pot

9 years ago | Likes 32 Dislikes 0

This. We celebrate the differences.

9 years ago | Likes 21 Dislikes 0

Damn straight

9 years ago | Likes 11 Dislikes 0

I freaking love living in Canada and being Canadian :)

9 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

lol as a Canadian, why is this so weird that it needs commenting? jeez the rest of the world sucks ass

9 years ago | Likes 124 Dislikes 17

I was legitimately surprised that this was mentioned. As a Canadian it never even occurred to me!

9 years ago | Likes 6 Dislikes 3

It's not people just obsess with diversity for some reason

9 years ago | Likes 7 Dislikes 4

Lol it doesn't deserve commenting. That's any big city in US also.

9 years ago | Likes 11 Dislikes 2

As a non-Canadian, I must admit being rather partial to a bit of ass sucking.

9 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

My high school was like 85% white. Maybe more.

9 years ago | Likes 11 Dislikes 0

600 kids, 1 black kid, 5ish Hispanics, a dozen Asians, and a shit load of white kids.

Definitely depends on the area. Bigger cities are a lot more diverse than where I grew up. Source: I am on the Toronto streetcar atm:)

9 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

Because in the US you have races separated, whites this way and blacks on that other way (in my opinion)

9 years ago | Likes 4 Dislikes 2

Because if it happened in the US like that, it would look staged.

9 years ago | Likes 5 Dislikes 0

This

9 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 1

It actually is kind of surprising in a prairie province though.

9 years ago | Likes 5 Dislikes 1

Born and raised in Edmonton. Untrue. All of the major cities are incredibly diverse.

9 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

All five of them? :p

9 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

Lol. Yup! 7 if you include Winnipeg and Ottawa. But yeah....

9 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

Its a cliché in film and TV that gangs of skaters or whatever are improbably multicultural

9 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

You have no idea. Keep up the good work, Canada, maybe robots won't kill us all if they see you first.

9 years ago | Likes 32 Dislikes 3

Actually the most likely reasons a sentient AI would kill us is because it would become so intelligent it views us as we view ants, Canada

9 years ago | Likes 4 Dislikes 2

would get killed just like everyone else :)

9 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 2

Yay!?

9 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

We skateboarders don't give two shits about race or creed. We are just trying to roll forever with our friends. You get it, yer in.

9 years ago | Likes 361 Dislikes 20

You see my Crew is shining' just like an icicle.... i ride around town on my low rider bicycle... bicycle.. bicycle...

9 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Kick. Push. Kick push. Coast to coast.

9 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

Truth. Skaters don't give a shit, just try, don't be a racist asshole, and don't rollerblade.

9 years ago | Likes 22 Dislikes 0

Fucking binliners

9 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 1

Those damn fruit-booters

9 years ago | Likes 6 Dislikes 0

Roll forever, shiny and chrome

9 years ago | Likes 78 Dislikes 0

As a 30+ year lifer in the skateboard world.. that's a completely appropriate response. Warboys and skate rats have a lot of commonalities.

9 years ago | Likes 31 Dislikes 2

Noice

9 years ago | Likes 5 Dislikes 0

Same deal here in the motorcycle community, well at least my area.

9 years ago | Likes 4 Dislikes 0

Yep. I'm a skateboarder, supermoto rider, and a car/truck guy. I'm constantly meeting new people through all that.

9 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

Nice man, I used to ride a DRZ400SM. I now ride a FZ09.

9 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

I want an FZ so bad. That'll probably be my next bike. I'll always keep the motard though.
