Knickers is a giant steer in Australia who became known because he grew so large that he was too big to be slaughtered. The usual machines and spaces at the slaughterhouse could not handle him. Instead of being sent away, he was kept on a farm where he could live out his life on a farm near Perth.
He spends his days grazing in wide fields, resting in the shade, and moving slowly along the paddocks. The farmer and helpers look after him, giving him food, water, and a safe place to sleep. Sometimes visitors come to see him, curious about the gentle giant who could not fit the usual systems.

His story makes people think about how animals are treated and the choices farmers make. Being too big for slaughter gave Knickers a chance to live peacefully. On that farm near Perth he can grow older in peace, surrounded by open sky and green grass, a calm reminder of kindness and second chances. ???

#2 Man that's massssive, solid unit.

He is not the largest bovine in the world, just the largest domesticated one. At least I assume so, I didn't check but he's certainly not larger than the largest bisons recorded.

Living the rest of its life watching his friends get murdered because they are just the right size for slaughter.

Be too big to be sent to the slaughter. Something for the good anti fascist people in america to aspire to.

Some dumbass redneck really got butthurt about this enough to have to run his mouth about how ‘super’ the Wyoming cattle loaded full of growth hormones are what a fucking loser, this shithole country can’t get what it deserves fast enough

The article makes it clear he's no "giant" - his breed averages 6' and he's 4 inches taller. They usually slaughter them at two years old, he's 7. The animals around him are a different breed to make him look big. It's all bullshit. https://www.thedodo.com/on-the-farm/knickers-giant-steer-cow-australia

Somewhere out there, recommitting his love to Babe. Reminding himself that the lifetime of love from his beautiful blue ox is worth a million gigantic bulls saved from slaughter.

Just as well he's a steer, imagine if a whole half of the herd couldn't go to the peaceful pasture?

Imagine what it takes to handle his package for the ladies. He's literally three times their size.

Camera trickery. The games where filmed in a similar way to how they filmed the scenes with Gandalf and hobbits in lotr.

when being a giant actually extends your life span

1 month ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 1

Gigantisms is tied with a lower life span and there's even a direct correlation between human height and life span, taller men live shorter lives.

1 month ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

Gigantism was a valid evolutory branch to the top of the foodchain and surviving alpha predators, until homo mc eatemall invented the pointy stick.

1 month ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

The driving factor of megafauna was the ice age, as colder weather rewards larger bodies. Most megafauna was not the top of the food chain.

1 month ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

Not relly every age had huge animals, mammals becoming huge was just because of the dinosaurs extinction.

1 month ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

I didn't say sole factor, I said driving factor, of those that lived alongside humans as that's what we're talking about. And no not every age had huge animals depending on what you mean by age.
