OH MY GOD WE GET IT YOU VAPE!

6 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 1

Digital doesn't necessarily mean better.

6 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Why do we need torque wrenches? (I’ve truly never learned why… If you’d like to explain it to me, pretend I am a 10-year-old)

6 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Nice vape jackass

6 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Ok... but why tho?

6 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Why is this necessary? You set your wrench and it clunks, Job Done!

6 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Won’t be needed in Michigan

6 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

How accurate are these?

6 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Step 1: set the torque correctly. You're welcome.

6 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

I have the dial ones and it's a PITA to use as I cannot figure out if the torque is right.

6 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Cheers for the heads up OP. Just emailed my purchase manager to find out costs on this. I sell Groz gear and they're usually decent quality.

6 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

This shits been around forever

6 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

Super dump an unnecessary.

6 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

i dont get it

6 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

You know you dont have to "perform" the tightening of those right?

6 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Neat but I want my tools to be as simple and as mechanical as possible. The fewer complicated parts, the less can go wrong. Before you know

6 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

your torque wrench 2.0 will need a firmware update before it'll work. And guess what! The next update falls under premium subscription!

6 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

does it make "clunk" after reaching the torque?

6 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

Hidden ads, covered as content, so hot right now on social media.

6 years ago | Likes 4 Dislikes 1

Where can I get one before my mechanic does the next tire rotation on my car?

6 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

If you pay a deposit, auto one will loan you one for a couple days. Check your torque and return for a full refund.

6 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

Did... Did he just torque that Mercedes to 140 something?

6 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Most german cars bolts get torqued to 130 nm.

6 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Hmm. The torque chart at my shop is mostly 89 for Audi's and vw's and up to 110 for bmw and Mercedes. Not saying you're wrong, just 1/2

6 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Different charts

6 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Just give it two ugga dugga's and it's minty.

6 years ago | Likes 14 Dislikes 1

I thought you had to give it all the ugga dugga's, so it won't accidentally come loose on the side of the road, in the rain, with a flat?

6 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

beeps when you over-torque it, versus dis-engaging (like the click-type normal torque wrench), so what's the use ?

6 years ago | Likes 28 Dislikes 2

The digital one I have can also do TTY(torque to yield) for song head bolts. It also can switch from inch pounds to foot pounds to nm.

6 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Clickers don't fully disengage. Only a couple degrees and then your 300lb gorilla is breaking something again.

6 years ago | Likes 10 Dislikes 0

Arguably the digital load cell is more accurate and stable than a pivot block.

6 years ago | Likes 11 Dislikes 1

Clickers don't disengage, they just fall back a degree or two

6 years ago | Likes 5 Dislikes 0

Well, unless you're deaf… .

6 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

If you need to torque something to a precise setting, the cheapest option is not the best option and will very likely cost you thousands.

6 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

If its good enough for the 737 MAX its good enough for me.........

6 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

How long would that last before needing calibration?

6 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Pretty cool but I think I'd miss that satisfying clunk

6 years ago | Likes 344 Dislikes 3

6 years ago | Likes 5 Dislikes 0

Sometimes that can be static friction... the digital ones are so much more accurate doh

6 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Is it actually aiding or just measuring?

6 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

A torque wrench is to make sure your are doing it to the correct tightness, not help you do it harder.

6 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

6 years ago | Likes 16 Dislikes 0

@OP Does it come in sizes other than 12mm?

6 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 1

The Clunk-ching of Achievement

6 years ago | Likes 7 Dislikes 0

Ahh, the racked knuckles of victory.

6 years ago | Likes 42 Dislikes 0

once upon a time, swapped out a girls brakes, used torque wrench, set it to 100lbs... inch...pounds... OOPSIE! Wrong one!

6 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

She dead

6 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

no, but I had to replace all twenty bolt studs, and redo it, she brought it back in time after hearing *WUBWUBWUBWUBWUBWUB*, lol...

6 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Harbor freight has them for about $30. Well worth it.

6 years ago | Likes 39 Dislikes 7

Mine was $12 from HF, did you buy their fancy one?

6 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Harbor Freight is good for simple hand tools but anything like this that takes calibration or has electronics, you're wasting your money.

6 years ago | Likes 7 Dislikes 0

As long as being within 70% of spec is good enough, that Chinese garbage is great!

6 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

Harbor Freight is good for simple tools you plan on using one time. Or items you break anyway.

6 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

Chinesium garbage

6 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Keep your dick in a vice.

6 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

Do NOT buy a torque wrench from Harbor Freight. We tested four of them and none of them were accurate. By a lot.

6 years ago | Likes 38 Dislikes 3

surely that's illegal? i mean if you sold me a set of scales that didn't register weights properly, that'd be a paddlin'

6 years ago | Likes 8 Dislikes 1

It's only illegal if they claim to be accurate. It's still, technically, a torque wrench. You just don't know what torque it decided on.

6 years ago | Likes 7 Dislikes 0

You get what you pay for. How is the average joe gonna check that they're right?

6 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

send it to the weights and measures department? https://www.nist.gov/pml/weights-and-measures

6 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

If you used them for business then you’d want calibrated ones. They don’t always show correct weight. Hence a disclaimer on them

6 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

Here’s the thing about torque wrenches: unless you spend big $$$, they’re horribly inaccurate out of the box or after a few uses

6 years ago | Likes 107 Dislikes 5

i was surprised i got a torque wrench for $20 and it came with a cal cert, but the £100 for a cal isn't worth it for a home gamer.

6 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 1

Yeah basically.

6 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 1

If it’s 10 or 20% out that’ll be a good ball park for playing at home

6 years ago | Likes 5 Dislikes 0

Yeah a lot of them have this inaccuracy after a while where they'll use imperial! Who on earth would want that?!

6 years ago | Likes 4 Dislikes 4

That's not what they told me at Harbor Freight.

6 years ago | Likes 19 Dislikes 0

That, and if you add sealant, lubricant, or thead locker, it gets even more difficult.

6 years ago | Likes 4 Dislikes 0

All those things have zero effect on torque. Those change mu of the thread and alter clamping force.

6 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 1

They're boringly easy to calibrate as well.

6 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 1

Method?

6 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

It's long to explain given the 140 char limit but there's plenty in YouTube. Give it a shot.

6 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 1

Even big money wrenches can be garbage. Snap on re brands are some of the worst offenders.

6 years ago | Likes 15 Dislikes 0

The beam types are generally accurate, provided the scale is correct. Click wrenches, less so.

6 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

Worked for a company that makes hydraulic bolt tensioning systems. As part of my trading I learned that the torque method, regardless of 1

6 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Brand has an error of 30 to 40% on clamping force. The only way to be truly accurate is to use hydraulic tensioning could with ultrasonic 2

We only do ours annually

Or you know Damascus 1980 happens.

6 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

Question. Do you mean twice a month, or once every two months?

Cool, thanks! Another question, if I may: Four and a half kilometres underground? Looking for mithril?

6 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

I'd say you're much better off buying a calibrated unit to check the wrenches each time before you use them at your desired torque

6 years ago | Likes 9 Dislikes 1

But then what happens when the calibrator gets uncalibrated?

6 years ago | Likes 8 Dislikes 0

That's why you should always buy a calibrator calibrator

6 years ago | Likes 10 Dislikes 1

We always calibrated our loadcells ourselves a,

6 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

I've got one of those but it's out for calibrating atm
