I was asked to provide a more detailed post regarding the new allegations against Mr. William Halle of butler, pa School board member, youth leader, homeless shelter operator, maga supporting, local religious nut job
His statement because, why not he deserves to defend himself even if he does it by implicating himself
The situation;
He was observed by no less than 6 neighbors with the girl. Once police became involved the girls phone was taken by her father and explicit sexual messages were found between the 58 year old Bill and the 17 year old minor, going back at least 2 years when she first began working for his youth ministry coffee shop.
The pfa while charges are drawn up
His resignation
His non profit that operated a kids camp annually…where thousands of local kids attended daily pool trips where clothing was changed.

Court Orders are only confidential if the judge so orders, strange how he thinks these things are automatically confidential, unless it was asked for and granted there's no expectation of confidentiality in a court order. But then it wouldn't fit the victim narrative very well!

This. I came in ready to be outraged, calmed down at the initial read, then when it got to that got seriously pissed. That and the local kids camp stuff where the bits that made me go "woah hold up". Note i'm from the UK so a 17 and 58 year old here would be super creepy and social unacceptable, but not illegal AFAIK unless it predated their 16th birthday.

If you’ve even met each other before one person is of age an argument can be made for grooming imo. I work crisis counseling and have some young males who will have a single interaction with an older female that they misinterpret and ruminate on. As for young women, a few test the waters suggesting inappropriate ways to discuss adult topics and need boundaries set. All it takes is an adult who recognizes risk factors and personal vulnerabilities to set them up for future exploitation.

Oh not arguing against any of that. Just saying that for me the big outrage point wasn't the 58 dating 17, (though still yucky), but that it isn't something thats started in roughly the last year. Grooming is grooming and can take a lot of non-obvious forms.
