This is what American oligarchy looks like in 2025.

Billionaire Miriam Adelson whispered to Trump last night at the White House Hanukkah reception. He announced to the crowd that she offered $250 million if he ran for a third term. The crowd chanted "four more years."

The same day, Axios reported that Elon Musk is back funding Republican congressional campaigns after threatening to start his own party. He spent $291 million on MAGA political donations in 2024. If he matches it, that's about a half billion dollars from just two megadonors.

Trump's supporters say he is trolling people by continually raising the idea of an unconstitutional third term. But the nation's wealthy are lining up behind him with enough funding to make this anything but a joke.

We've emailed 5,100+ stories over 320 straight nights. Stop hoping the algorithm shows them to you. govbrief.today

Thank you, OP.

Ask three higher ranking individuals in this administration, get at least three different answers. They're not decision makers. They're puppets installed to enrage and confuse.

Snuggles!

"haha, unless...?" Doesn't quite cover it. He fully intends to try, and if they don't let him, he'll just do Jan 6th all over again, this time making sure it doesn't fail. They're going to just skip over the Constitutional Crisis and declare President for Life with the new selection process involving a sloppy bj.

#2 of course the grunts revolt, it is their asses on the line in the next voting season

The work you do is admirable. Thank you.

That was a way to brighten my morning. Thank you for saying that. Have a great day.

Re: 2. Maybe you shouldn't have voted against it in the first place? Your speaker didn't get these credits to expire all by himself.

Oh, wait. You're Republicans; accepting responsibility for your actions is a foreign concept to you.

#3 You people are fucked!

3 months ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

All of us are. There was a lot of research happening. :(

Stay woke.

#14 would be nice to ban all data collection this way, not just those who went, "too far". Also Ken Paxton is a knob so I think something personal (no kickback) must have happened for him.

Agree with you on both!

#9 huh, so it was about oil all along… whodda thunk it?

3 months ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

They're just saying it now that they had this long leisurely buildup.

Still doing the GB challenge: pick an article and read it completely. Mine was #9. All US residents should read through #9. Off to read more.

You'll want to check today. I made you famous even though I didn't use your handle.

That's awesome! The anonymous mention is very cool. I'm in everyone's inbox and they don't even know. :)

Off to read about today's happenings. Thanks as always!

#1 whats this? A GOOD cop? How novel. /s

3 months ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

It happens, and it always ends the same. Any time a cop stands up against the system, they get arrested, censured, fired, or worse.

I'm surprised at #10 due to how Oklahoma is (unfortunately, I live there), so I wonder if there's something going on in the OKSC.

3 months ago | Likes 4 Dislikes 0

You've got a weird local story in today's brief about Oklahoma looking to privatize behavioral health centers. The story the link goes to is really well done.

3 months ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

Yeah, that is on-par for OK's behavior, but I meant that this state is so red that I'm surprised it did not encode the 2020 election denial and the Bible teaching in the curriculum. The OKSC actually said "no" to both.

Ncar is such a fixture of the Boulder skyline, it pisses me off to no end that he’s trying to close it

It has science. They don't like science.

But living in the DC area for decades, I feel your pain.

(In reference to #6)

#12 Im sorry what?, From a logistical point would that even be feasible having fishing boats carrying drugs all the way to Europe? Like even if possible the risks must be too great to consider for boats that small... I assume any cartel smuggling drugs are all in for the profit so it just doesnt sound worth it at all when they can just smuggle whatever to the US for less cost and distance...

Cocaine

It depends on markets, and ease of entry. They might be able to aggregate small shipments in a container in the Caribbean or something, and then sneak it in thru some Mediterranean port

Dude is gonna pull the 'we are protecting your citizens' and 'have you even said thankyou' bullshit card shortly.

3 months ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

of course, if this was a quote from someone known for lying, then those boats might've not had any drugs at all. We would know for sure if someone didn't keep sinking those boats, and we would have better evidence than "trust me" if someone wasn't blocking everyone from viewing the footage.

And you still can’t blow them up for that, you have to board and arrest them

3 months ago | Likes 15 Dislikes 0

Wait, I don't understand #4, why did the (D) and black governor block a réparations commission?

3 months ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

Great question! He believed that they were stalling and that the state has enough information to begin the process. With this committee, they now have another 2 years before the report is due. He wanted the process to begin now, or rather, earlier this year.

3 months ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

Aaaah, okay, his idea was to get a move!

#7- coworker stated that's because there are already so many people working and the lazy are too scare to file unemployment because they are scared of being caught for fraud and so many "leeching illegals" are gone and can't use American services now. I asked where he got that info and he stated its just fact if your eyes are open. Living in the DSA is scary.

Unemployment numbers don't count people that are gone. (And don't really count people that aren't looking for work.)

3 months ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

It's a very imperfect number that at best is directional.
