Blue Line gets its own tunnel through downtown. Columbia Pike in Virginia gets a metro line, the Pink Line, which connects to the Blue Line east of the capitol.

IIRC, a separate tunnel for the Blue Line is being considered. The Columbia Pike line was part of the initial metro plan that 1/

they still need a line that follows around and hits the beltway stations only. Vienna to Shady Grove? Bring a blanket and a travel pillow.

They should continue it along the Beltway 1/
