"Dearest Mary,
I work tirelessly everyday to find a cure for your ailment but it seems my efforts are in vain; now I'm seen as an outsider amongst our own people! A sadist if you will!
There seems to be some advantages to my experiments though. I have recently acquired a new assistant in the form of a somewhat intelligent Ghoul. He does not talk much but he reminds me of those monsters you so often right about in your novels! He seems to strangely only respond to the name Igor if you can believe it!
I hope to return home soon to you and my darling child (you must be growing so fat!).
Your loving husband,
Percy."
-A letter from Percy Bysshe Shelley to his wife, Mary Shelley, appearing in the biography "Accounts of a necromancer: Percy Bysshe Shelley, A Modern Prometheus."
Note that many use this letter as evidence that the inspiration for Frankenstein's monster in Mary's famous novel came from the common Ghoul. The ailment mentioned is likely to be her lack of magic (a squib).

That's interesting, true or not, Mary was an extraordinary writer.
