My version of a dream home is a pink Victorian house with a tower. Maybe in a better looking neighborhood compared to this one. I know these can be a pain to maintain, but it's well worth it for me.

Holy hell yesssss omg.

Theres one down the street in cottage grove oregon.

9 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

You know it's haunted.

9 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

I'm pretty sure it's been proven that every Victorian house is haunted.

This looks like something that fell out of Wes Anderson's brain. Except for the lack of symmetry, of course.

I live in a neighborhood of Victorian style homes built in '89/'90. There a pink one and a purple one on my street.

Get pre approved and do it. Quit buying coffee and tans and save up. It works! You got this!

9 years ago | Likes 15 Dislikes 6

I don't buy coffee from coffee shops or get tans, and currently going through architecture school. Still my dream though!

This is identical to the house in the board game LIFE...

Come to Galveston! We've got lots for much cheaper than you'd find on the west coast.

9 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Personally prefer the Midwest because we don't have hurricanes

9 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

Op should see my town about half of all the houses are victorian. It's gorgeous during Christmas. Rural towns are pretty.

9 years ago | Likes 43 Dislikes 0

In a town in the woods at the top of a hill, there's a house where no one lives...

9 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Sounds like my Grandma's house (minus it being Victorian) She has some very scary dolls

9 years ago | Likes 7 Dislikes 0

So what's with all the dream home posts lately?

9 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

9 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

"Well worth it for me" - Guy who never maintained a house.

9 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

- Guy who has lived in a 90 y/o house for his entire childhood and has done work with it. I know that old houses can be bitches at times

9 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Thanks for your reply :) Having owned a house and worked as a builder, ill take a concrete cube any time :)

9 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

That my friend is a manor not a house

9 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Or mansion. I suppose a house like this would have originally employed servants and caretakers

9 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Yep

9 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

One electrical outlet per room and the Historical Commission won't let you add any more. Pretty soon you will hate living there.

9 years ago | Likes 31 Dislikes 1

Surge protector with a ton of outlets can fix that

9 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

Live in historic district, no limit to interior changes. Only exterior.

9 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

One electrical outlet = one giant gang extension lead (this is NOT advice, I am not an electrician ...)

9 years ago | Likes 5 Dislikes 0

In my childhood home (1920s house) we do use power strips with surge protectors on occasion, but we don't use every single outlet

9 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

If you add more Romex behind the baseboards and get period-looking ceramic socket plates, they look lovely.

9 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

A pal of mine has a Victorian. She and the Mr redid the chair rails so some flip down to reveal sockets and ethernet ports.

9 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

They throw costume LAN parties sometimes. Lovely couple. Only person I know who spends more time fixing their house than I do.

9 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

I've lived in a house with limited electrical outlets and it really depends on what guidelines the historical commission has set for (1/2)

9 years ago | Likes 19 Dislikes 0

the interiors of houses. Would definitely research what restrictions are present, because many exist for exteriors (2/2)

9 years ago | Likes 16 Dislikes 0

Is this Victorian?

9 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

Yes, very much so

9 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 1

I suppose despite naming the style after the British monarch it shares nothing with Victorian architecture? Confusing!

9 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

It is weird. In America, this is what we consider "Victorian" architecture http://www.oldhouses.com/styleguide/victorians

9 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

I see. Over here (guess where) St Pancras station is a good example of Victorian!

9 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Of course it isn't. It's in the USA, by location and of both aesthetic and material design is not like a Victorian house.

9 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

In America, "Victorian" architecture refers to this: http://www.oldhouses.com/styleguide/victorians

9 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

So, not Victorian, even by era some of those houses. May as well call it Grover Cleveland architecture.

9 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

To make things even more confusing: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Queen_Anne_style_architecture_in_the_United_States

Just another comment, I'm not talking about this specific house, but used this house as reference. Also I'm male

9 years ago | Likes 83 Dislikes 4

theres a bed and breakfast near me that looks exactly like this.

9 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Go to Ferndale, Ca. Stay in the Gingerbread Mansion, have his time. Hoisin: went and stayed there just 90 days ago.

9 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

Why does your gender have anything to do with it? You like it. End of story x

9 years ago | Likes 10 Dislikes 1

We got a bunch of these old Victorian style houses just like this in the mildly hood area of San Diego.

9 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

I thought this should be an unpopular opinion puffin but it got quite a few upvotes. To each his own.

9 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

This looks like a historical house in Flint Michigan.

9 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Pink is a mans colour.

9 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

You are right, especially during and before the Victorian era

9 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

There's one in Wellsville NY. Your neighbors could be nazis, meth heads or both! Oh and ghosts, it's supposedly haunted.

9 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Here you go http://circaoldhouses.com/search/

9 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

Ooh, nifty website!

9 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

Do you happen to know where this particular house is located? I swear I've seen it in person before but don't know where.

9 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Lexington ky? There is one just like it

9 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

I have been informed that it's located in Eureka, CA

9 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

Nothing wrong with being a dude who likes pink. I want a 1970 Challenger in pink.

9 years ago | Likes 31 Dislikes 0

Want a yellow (which also geys shit) '68 Stingray here

9 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Pink is a very good and flashy color for Victorians

9 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

Uhhh... OP. Do you know where this house is? This looks like my hometown

9 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

I've been told Eureka, CA

9 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

You have been told correctly. It is called The Pink Lady and sits across the street from The Carson Mansion.
