Found him in Star Trek Enterprise and got all excited.

I hate Seth McFarlane, and I don't know why, and that's why I hate him!

I love The Orville but I also like Star Trek: Discovery. Very different but both very good.

8 years ago | Likes 5 Dislikes 2

I like that the character building arc of the Orville in the first season. Well done.

8 years ago | Likes 56 Dislikes 4

As a writer and voice guy he's OK. Just can't stand watching him Act. Watched "The Orville" once, that was enough.

8 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 1

Orville should have been crap. It is just the opposite. Ready for season 2.

8 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Just saw Tom Morello in Voyager. I don't really know who he is.

8 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 1

Anything Star Trek is awesome.

8 years ago | Likes 26 Dislikes 6

Do you REALLY want me to go out there and find all the shit?

8 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

Except for the new one, STD.

8 years ago | Likes 13 Dislikes 0

Ah yes, the mature trekkers response "LOL, STD!" I don't need 90s Trek, I had 90s Trek, that should not that be what they deliver.

8 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 5

not a fan of the new std they put out though.

8 years ago | Likes 8 Dislikes 0

Brannon Braga also writes for his show, he was a Star Trek writer as well.

8 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Wait. He was actually IN Star Trek?

8 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

yes. two episodes in star trek enterprise as far as I know :) a picture of what he looked like in epi 2

8 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

He was a little chubberino back then lol

8 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

He's being black mirrored

8 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

https://youtu.be/sn_Sgcxg5PQ he did this

8 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

And it still can't distract from how SHITTY all of his cartoon shows are

8 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 3

Started watching tonight. Happy with imgurs recommendation

8 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 1

A lot of actors got their start as stand ins. Like one of jack blacks first speaking lines was the pilot in Waterworld.

8 years ago | Likes 28 Dislikes 1

Jack Black was a child actor. Played the main bully in Never Ending Story 3.

8 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

Colbert and Steve carell both were minor actors on the daily show.

8 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

He was on an xfiles episode aswell

8 years ago | Likes 5 Dislikes 0

*2 episodes

8 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

I remeber the arcade episode, what was the second?

8 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

And so was Giovanni Ribli

8 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

you're joking, right?

8 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

he was a the seaplane pilot https://imgur.com/YukEAIX

8 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

Nope. It was one of his first speaking and credited parts.

8 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 1

Beats the crap out of that stupid CBS streaming series. He out trekked trek

8 years ago | Likes 9 Dislikes 2

I was kinda lukewarm about Discovery at first but it did get better. Looking forward to it coming back on Sunday.

8 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

Haha yes! Didn't he have some crappy line and then get scolded by Trip!?

8 years ago | Likes 4 Dislikes 1

yep :D

8 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Do you mean starting trek the next generation?

8 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

The Orville is like the middle ground between Star Trek and Galaxy Quest. Watched the first four and loved it.

8 years ago | Likes 163 Dislikes 4

It gets better. And then worse. And then better again!

8 years ago | Likes 20 Dislikes 0

Which episode did you think was bad? Just curious. I've enjoyed all of them so far.

8 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

IMHO, the first three or four are the worst. After that, it picks up. (Worst as in iffy acting, forced jokes..)

8 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

Seemed like any other show, really. Starts bad, gets better as people watch it more.

8 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

Yup. I'm glad I kept up with it.

8 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

I loved Galaxy Quest and pretty much all of the Star Trek shows. I tried, but I could not get myself to enjoy The Orville.

8 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

I'm watching Orville and will continue to, but I find his acting flat. He really doesn't have a much dimension as an actor.

8 years ago | Likes 6 Dislikes 2

I like his deadpan delivery of funnies, but he's not great at emotion. Probably because he's not actually an actor by trade? Not sure.

8 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 1

Maybe one if the reptilians lol. Any voice over work I've watched produced, I still see the voice actor acting happy, sad, scared, w.e. so

8 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

He does have acting experience, he just seems so awkward. Like you said, expression emotions. Same in a million ways to die in the West

8 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

He insists upon himself

8 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 1

Plus I keep hearing Brian.

8 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 1

pretty sure this is the only thing he actually ever wanted to do. he totally checked out on family guy. that show is a mess now.

8 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

I recollect him saying it should have ended a long time ago...

8 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

yea, he has. i wonder if he’s trying to kill it. because i love the show but it’s been almost unbearably cringy and just... obscure.

8 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

and with adam west and carrie fisher gone... it’s even more painful to watch.

8 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Is this show part of the Star Trek Universe?

8 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

no, but heavily inspired and in about the same time.

8 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

The Orville is actually not part of the Trek universe. Its merely a comedy of all the best parts of what Star Trek is. Its quite good.

8 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

Reminds me of a plot to a Black Mirror episode

8 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Oh wait you just meant generally, didn't you...

8 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

S4e1

8 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Which one?

8 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

S4 E1 im guessing

Orville reminds me more of Stargate: Atlantis because of the tone. The social media episode would even have totally fit as an episode of SG1

zoinks, wrong turn link

It's weirdly more Trek than the currently airing Trek. Social commentary and ending on sometimes difficult questions about morality.

8 years ago | Likes 5 Dislikes 0

Rather than... JJ make go boom. Boom!

8 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

Agree 100%

8 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

Well I agree 200%

8 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

I must agree with your 200% by 300%

8 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Why can't star trek remember that what we loved about star trek.

8 years ago | Likes 14 Dislikes 1

Because right now it's about hating on groups of people, and TNG tried to fairly represent people.

8 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

They make more money making startrek for dumb people

8 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

He was in 2 episodes of series 3. . . . Some of the worst episodes of Trek ever made. (* Until Discovery)

8 years ago | Likes 12 Dislikes 5

So no one's ever told you about Voyager, I see. Don't look for it. Some scripts are so bad that I seriously think writers were trolling us.

8 years ago | Likes 4 Dislikes 2

Series 3 Enterprise = All of Voyager in quality.

8 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 1

Season 3, you mean?

8 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 1

Not a fan of discovery? I haven't seen it yet.

8 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 1

I like it. It's definitely not like other treks, but that's not to say it isn't trek.

8 years ago | Likes 6 Dislikes 4

Those very words kind of say it's not Trek.

8 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Not really. What it is is basically TNGs "The Pegasus" stretched out for a whole season.

8 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

If you want your TNG Nostalgia boner stroked then Orville is great. If you want something new and pretty good, look toward Discovery.

8 years ago | Likes 9 Dislikes 3

I dropped Discovery a while ago. It was ok, but it didn't thrill me. I got maybe 5 episodes into it. It's not bad. It's just not great.

8 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

It's a show that defines slow burn... I think I may have gotten past any rough parts because my local trekkie group hosts viewing parties.

8 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Generally the group loves the show so maybe that keeps us up for the rougher parts (episode 8 was terrible until you watch episode 9)

8 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Makes sense, he was a part of the lowest point in the franchise's history, of course he'd want to make up for it.

8 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

You haven't seen either Voyager or Discovery? Lucky!

8 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

Can’t argue with you about Discovery but ain’t no way Voyager is worst than Enterprise!

8 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

I disagree. Voyager has some terrible writing. I admit Enterprise had a bad start but Voyager got worse.

8 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

It has better sets than Enterprise, but Janeway was a horrifically bad Captain.
