So yea, I bet no one really cares. But I feel so proud right now. I’ve always thought I was a failure when it comes to school, being a C student with at least one F every semester of college. But after dropping out and taking years off, I’ve gone back to school, finally found something I’m passionate about, and it’s so MUCH easier for me to learn! Anyways, I’m hoping someone might see this, and it might help them realize that there is hope if you’re struggling with school. Just find something you love. Also, congrats to anyone who has finished finals! —- FP Edit: holy crap this exploded! Thanks for all the support you guys! The community still amazes me with positivity!

I just turned 36, & finished my first semester with almost all A's, except for the C in Stats. Which is basically an A. <3

Same. I’m 34 and am a junior into my undergrad. Just got a 4.0 in both my classes this semester for the first time in my life. We got this.

Going back to school and I am 50. It is never too late. Maturity has it's benefits. No more drinking and partying. Way better marks.

I like to think of myself as more of a Tommy boy

Total fuck up the first time through - double 4 point degrees in my mid 30's. Maturity helps. CONGRATULATIONS! A's feel SO good :)

Dude same. Went to college after high school and failed through 6 years. Still don’t have that degree

I'm 29 and just started an apprenticeship. So many 17 and 18yr olds. I feel old, but I'm finally learning something I love. Good job @op

Good on you I went back to Uni around the same age as you, makes a difference if oyuu want to be there- well done!

Teenage years are THE ABSOLUTE WORST to be taught stuff in school

7 years ago | Likes 5 Dislikes 0

I only suggest to young people to wait a year or two before going to post secondary, once they've got a better sense of what they want.

Took me about six years to go back, excited to start pursuing my degree in University next month!

Not sure how I managed to type 'only' I meant 'usually'

Wish I would have talked to you at age 18. Guess that is why the rearview mirror is tiny and the windshield is huge.

I usually suggest enrolling and focusing on prerequisites since they take about 6 semesters to complete. Gives you time to pick a major.

7 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

Well congrats on the good grades! Easier to hammer a nail for something you love. Keep up the good work!

Motivation and being genuinely interested in something make it a lot easier

7 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

Schools generally suck at teaching because people learn differently, my dad's high school told him he just wasn't trying hard enough

7 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

I always thought that was my problem. I think most of it was I had picked a grueling major (Music performance). Practicing sucks lol

Awesome!

I’m 36 and went back to school, in my 2nd year and I have nothing but A’s and B’s. Feels good!

7 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Sorta same boat. In school at 30 and actually giving a shit and making straight A’s. I’m interested to see how long I can keep it up

Similar story here: 2.33 GPA in college, 2.78 at university. Going back for my Master's degree at 31 years old with a freaking 4.0!

7 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

Yes! Way to go!

7 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

I went to college and earned a degree with no plan for it. I’m going back with a plan and career goal this time. Nervous and excited!

7 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

I did the same thing. Wasn’t a pleasant experience the first go.

7 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

Best wishes! We got this!!

this gives me hope. going back to school for nursing at age 30, very afraid of failing.

7 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

I thought the same thing. I thought I was just “bad at school”. If you’re passionate about it, you’ll succeed. Good luck! Pulling for you

Nice Job, Went back to college again at 28, folks were like "You'll be 32 when you graduate" Well, I'll be 32 in 4-yrs anyways. Great Grades

When the "Research paper or bar hopping" question was asked. Paper was easy, bar scene was "Been there, done that" (was a roady once)

7 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

Crazy how people try to scare you by making you feel like you're wasting your time. It's like "Oh you don't own a house by 20? Guess you

7 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

Just wasted your life!"

7 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

28, started college for the first time, and I'm loving it! I know how you feel mate! Best of luck

Cool. What are you going for?

7 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

I'm 30 and have one more year left. Been working full time but just quit to finish.

7 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

29 and still unsure of what to go to school for :\

7 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

31 and I went back to school this year, it's totally cool to figure things out or go in a new direction.

7 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

I feel you. For me I just know that if I'm not passionate about it I won't give my all. Plus limited time/$

7 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

Take the basics, an A.S. has the same initial classes any degree requires, less $$ at a community college too!

7 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

True. I just did that once without the drive and bc failed because I believe didn't go enough due to work
