Whataburger Bacon Cheese burger with Jalapeños, on Texas toast

None of their regional chains has a candle on Culvers.

Best burgers hands down

That is a visual pain to observe. I can feel my blood pressure shift uncomfortably.

Whataburger is not that great, no fast food burger is that great.

8 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

I prefer Whataburger food, but In-N-Out treats their employees WAYYYYY better. So I don't mind giving them my $$ too.

8 years ago | Likes 23 Dislikes 3

In Texas we already have a chain for shitty little in-and-out style burgers. It's called Stake and Shake and it sucks.

8 years ago | Likes 11 Dislikes 8

Also P'Terry's.

8 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Those aren't even remotely the same style of burger.

8 years ago | Likes 7 Dislikes 0

In-n-out fearlessly opened locations in Texas. Whataburger won’t do the same In Califas because they know they would remove all doubt.

8 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

Am I the only one that feels Whataburger burgers are just Sonic burgers with too much mustard and a dine-in area?

8 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

As a Texan we have the best burgers on back patios, but our chains are pretty damn good too.

8 years ago | Likes 95 Dislikes 21

Do you... do you use propane and propane accessories?

8 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Texans know two food groups, Texmex and BBQ.

8 years ago | Likes 22 Dislikes 2

This is especially true in San Antonio

8 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

A&W+Long John Silvers I went to once had battered onion rings (LGS fish batter). Best damn rings I’ve ever had.

8 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

Anyone still here remembers when Shake Shack used to by NYC/NYC regional? Good times… There’s still Checkers/Rally’s, but it’s not enough.

8 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

I hate to be the bearer of bad news, but Checkers/Rally’s isn’t NY regional. I grew up with them in TN. Now live in FL and they’re here.

8 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

True, they’ve started in the SE (Checkers) and MW (Rally’s), and they’re scattered throughout the country, mostly in East USA + Calif now.

8 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

It really comes down to what type of burger you like. Philosophy of burger, if you must. I’m a purist so less is more - In-n-Out is for me

8 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

In Michigan we have coneys.

8 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

So many fuckin coneys

8 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

Everywhere. Coneys everywhere. No difference.

8 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

In-n-out is over rated.

8 years ago | Likes 7 Dislikes 5

Now I'm curious, what's your state's local/regional burger chain? (Well other than texas/cali - since we know those already) Is it good?

8 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

Max.

8 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Five guys. Very filling

8 years ago | Likes 4 Dislikes 2

In Oklahoma/Kansas/North Texas: Braums. Awesome burgers for fast food and really good ice cream too.

8 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Back Yard Burgers was the Tennessee option, but I haven’t been back in years. Great burgers. Also, waffle fries.

8 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

In Seattle you go to Dick's

8 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

Portillo’s. Chicagoland

8 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

Here in KC we've got Freddie's based out of Topeka (like Steak & Shake) and Winstead's (has a '50s vibe). But if I'm really in a burger 1/?

8 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

mood I go to 54th Street (think Applebee's/Chili's with much better food). 2/2

8 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Culvers in the upper midwest region is good. Based in wisconsin and then a radius out from there in other states

8 years ago | Likes 10 Dislikes 0

Goes at least all over Michigan, and down to Illinois, the burgers are above average for fast food, but the ice cream is where it's at.

8 years ago | Likes 4 Dislikes 0

Because its not ice cream, its frozen custard. Which is always better, but Culvers frozen custard is just mediocre.

8 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

And cheese curds.

8 years ago | Likes 9 Dislikes 0

Aww yea the cheese curds are magical.

People that don’t like In n Out put pineapples on their pizzas and ranch in PBJ.

8 years ago | Likes 67 Dislikes 44

Dude. Pineapple on pizza is fuckin’ delicious.

8 years ago | Likes 9 Dislikes 3

I don't understand why pineapple on pizza became some sort of dividing point. Lots of people don't like lots of things that other people do.

It is delicious, but it's also heresy. :P

What I think you're saying is that we here at Five Guys are serving better burgers and fries as In-N-Out licks our balls.

8 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

I was high as a kite and thought the first comment was ambiguous as to which was being praised.

8 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

The cookout delegation stands with the Five Guys delegation in pronouncing the Texans and Californians wrong

8 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

5 guys burgers are worth every penny.

8 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

How can the others compete with bacon as option in thier milkshakes?

8 years ago | Likes 11 Dislikes 1

i always felt i was in the minority believing five guys is just as good or better

8 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Not around these parts. It's the official unofficial spot to eat for everyone at my company. We routinely text each other when we're there.

8 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Soggy fries and meh burger, pass.

8 years ago | Likes 4 Dislikes 3

Smash Burger is way better. The quality of the food is not significantly better, but there are way more choices.

8 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

As a California I secede my native fast food chains and hold your claim vaild.

8 years ago | Likes 8 Dislikes 3

The chair does NOT recognize the senator of the Five Guys delegation at this time!

8 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 2

The senator would ask the chair to look at the upvotes and realize that the people have spoken and cannot be silenced.

8 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

Yuck lol

8 years ago | Likes 6 Dislikes 6

I agree. The two times I ate there I thought I would die. Grease running out of the paper bag

8 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 1

Agreed. Plus better fries, cuz how you gonna claim to have a great burger then need to go somewhere else for good fries?!

8 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Five guys have the most consistent experience by far. Always a good burger with good fries. Plain and simple wins.

8 years ago | Likes 6 Dislikes 2

Been to 5 guys. Horribly disappointed. All those topping and they only have 1 variety of cheese. Go to Backyard Burger instead.

8 years ago | Likes 4 Dislikes 2

backyard burger!! didnt know that was a chain? went for the first time today it was amazing and cheap

8 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

Small chain here in the deep south. Sadly went through bankruptcy a few years ago, but a store reopened nearby. What sold me was when 1/2

8 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

the cashier asked me what type of cheese I wanted. I mean... I GET OPTIONS!? They had blue cheese. You're goddamn right I ordered it. 2/2

8 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

8 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

I'm here from the Melt delegation. Who needs burgers when you got grilled cheese so good grown men weep.

8 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Their burgers are great, but their fries are lacking. Fresh cut sounds great, but great fries require more steps.

The council recognizes the Five Guys delegation, but does not seem it worthy of joining the council of Whataburger/In N Out.

8 years ago | Likes 9 Dislikes 8

The motion is recognized by the council.

8 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 2

The council also asks for the five guys delegation to stop moving into LA where they are not wanted

8 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 6

If they are not wanted, the invisible hand of the market will drive them out. Are they still there? Well. Motion to dismiss is dismissed.

8 years ago | Likes 5 Dislikes 1

The Council recognizes freedom of choice within boundaries, but recognizes choices other than the aforementioned 2 to be wrong.

Chain places never serve the best of anything. You want the best? You go to mom and pop places.

8 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Depends, small restaurants can be pretty bad as well, but I usually do avoid chains when possible

8 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

Five Guys wishes they were Burgatory, medium rare bison and a coffee smoothie with patron please

8 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 5

That sounds like a slightly different level than what we're talking here.

8 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 1

Burgers are basically same price as a five Guys meal though

8 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Sure, but what's a meal at Burgatory cost? You can't compare a whole meal cost to one burger.

8 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Okay but we’re comparing five guys to whataburger here which is the same dilemma, a burger at five guys is a meal at whataburger

8 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Five guys is good and all but their prices don't even compare to in and outs

8 years ago | Likes 63 Dislikes 11

If it cost you $15 for a double-patty hamburger, scaling for price In n Out would cost about $1.75 here. I wouldn't trust meat so cheap.

I don't remember exactly what I got but it included more than just a burger
