My name is Rex.

15 FROSTFALL 4E 201

My new friends and I have finally reached Ivarstead. We've ducked into the nearby barrow to make a plan of action. Last time I was here, I robbed the tavern in a drunken stupor and got hauled off to the Riften dungeon. From there, it escalated to prison break and full-on murder. And then more murder. And also some more light theft. But mostly murder.

So far, every guard in the Rift has been after my head and my bounty has increased exponentially since my jailbreak. So just making it to the middle of town and reaching the tavern won't be easy. I'll probably die. But I'll do it if means reuiniting my band.

"I really don't have time for your shit right now, ghost."

"Well, that was weird."

"Yeah, me too."

"Okay girls (and Inigo), listen up."

"If we're gonna do this, we'll have to play it smart. The four of us may be strong, but look at what happened in Sunguard. We'll be no match for the entire town guard. We'll probably get cut down before we even lay eyes on the tavern if we go out spells blazing and swords swinging."

"So we're gonna have to be sneaky."

The four of us snuck out of the barrow clad in heavy armour.

Totally a fullproof plan.

Thinking quickly, I ducked into the local apothecary.

I was thinking that I was thirsty.

And if we cocked this up, we'd really need extra potions.

Next stop: Vilemyr Inn.

"What the-"

"How did you get here!?"

"Who..."

And just like that, the courier was gone.

I stayed beyond cover and scanned the letter.

After all, if a courier needs to appear out of thin air to deliver it, it must be important, right?

"Goddammit Inigo."

I continued towards the tavern.

"Seriously, what is your deal?"

"Ah, whatever."

I made it!

My heart sank as I stepped inside.

Then it rose again when I saw Louise clad in her shining steel armour.

"Sorry I took so long."

I couldn't really see her face under all that armour, but I was sure she was happy to see me.

Hoth was happy to see me too... I think.

"And you as well, Reiko."

"And Erik! My favourite!"

We slid into the bathing room to talk things over.

We discussed what happened and I explained to them the situation.

I may have left out a few dirty details at the time, but they got the point.

The point was we had to get out of the Rift.

And go somewhere my bounty wasn't as high.

"Oh, I almost forgot."

"I brought gifts!"

"Some souvenirs from my trip through The Rift."

"You look fabulous!"

With that done, we geared up and headed back upstairs.

"Buddy, it's a long story.

But in the end, it all worked out. I was going to get away with it!

"Shit."

Were they waiting outside for me or something?

"I say... I'm outta here!"

"Run to the hills!" I screamed.

"Run for your lives!" I shouted.

But I wasn't running away.

I was getting backup.

The battle was in full swing when I stepped outside the Barrow.

It was an exhilarating feeling.

The bloodshed, the screams, the clashing of steel....

I never felt more at home.

"Well that was... something."

Indeed, it was something. Something great.

We'd gotten the band back together.
