Here I thought January 6 was the biggest snowflake day.

There is a lot of competition tbh, conservatives being angry about the "war" on christmas, magats crying over masks, UK conservatives screaming about passport colours, etc etc

To be fair if I saw a single snowflake nearly 40cm across I'd want to measure it too. Surely snowflakes that big don't exactly fall often.

Us avalance safety, snow science and backcountry skier folks measure snowflakes quite often

What’s the biggest you’ve seen?

40mm range for a single flake. I was blown away by how huge it was, 40cm is NUTS.

Ok, that tracks with the biggest I saw as a kid in Colorado. Big fat puffy ones sometimes. I can’t imagine the conditions that would produce 40cm!
