Thinking of leaving a copy of this in every mail box in the office.
bolharr2250
I'd do it. I don't think it'll accomplish much, but its not destructive and more helpful than spiteful
delpharseven
In my experience, management is incapable of understanding it is the problem.
LeftTwix382
I'm leaving due to my manager as well. He's a lazy bum who passed all his work on to us minimum wage peeps and won't actually talk to some.
Fonzo125
The exact reason why I quit.
NurseFeelgood
Just left mine. I blame it squarely on my boss, who said *nothing* when I said I needed a day off to be tested for cancer.
pyrotica
My last boss was a lazy asshole. Being self employed sucks.
Mrcrankyface
I'm on my last day of my current job so this hit close to home. Weird management and workflow ..
shakedownblues
I've watched it happen time and again in the military. One shitty supervisor and good people are made miserable and leave.
LZYRMN
My DM hasn't acknowledged the fact that I am leaving next week. He's such a pussy of a human being.
Kiore
I picked a job with a lower payrate because of a good manager. They're kinda rare.
Silverforte
Or... most of the employees are shit talking, abusive assholes who take advantage and lie until the good employee can't take it anymore.
sxybritchesheartsandypandy
Don't leave because you think it will spite your manager. Do what is best for you, but be smart about it.
yenagrrl
I left my last job because I can't take facing asshole customers face to face. The urge to bitch slap them was strong.
Every single day

Can confirm. I just left my job because my boss was a twat. That's the last time I start a business with my wife.

So what does it mean when the manager quits?
sadquesadilla
I have a manager who only gets after me, almost made me cry at work (not the first time). Today was the first day I thought about leaving
FartsSmellBad
Thing is, a bad manage cannot recognize a good employee
derekjohn
Or maybe they can and recognise that they have competition.
Rotholia
Where i work, i volunteer whenever help is needed, i go above the average effort, but yet, i really want to quit because of my manager 1/2
Mainly because, he and she act like dicks all the time, other employees agree, it is not the company, it is just, the managers do not care
ciarakira
The manageress at my old job was systematically bullying most employees, nothing was being done! Most girls quit in tears! Horribly unfair
crankyfranky
My job KNOWS my supervisor is a serious problem. We've been told directly by our manager that "management has the right to mismanage".
PirateRubberDuck
I have only left one job that I really liked my manager in. She was brilliant. The company went into administration and kept only 1/
Two stores open and she was left managing one so the company liked her too.
RenaissanceFaireMan
Every time someone quits/let go, the job then has to seek out new employees. They have to be trained and will be a drain for weeks/months.
My last job, someone quit or got fired....they didn't even hire someone else because HR had a "hiring freeze". More work for everyone!
chicagochick
problem is some businesses equate "Managers" with those who are able to work others hard vs those who develop & motivate their teams
HsuDoNihm
Sometimes the manager's manager is a shite.
SaddleShins
True. Finishing up an Intro to Management class in college and management vs leadership was a huge chapter.
Cool! I aspire to get into an MBA program! I have a high interest in value based Leadership!
khimeira
I just had a similar class yesterday. Although in Anglo Saxon culture there seems to be a huge difference, it's less marked in French cultur

Leaders participate. Managers don't.

I go back on Sunday after two weeks stress leave. Theyre going to give me a warning for taking leave, Im going to show them this and go.
Good luck, sounds a lot like a situation I've been in with my job

I'm leaving mine soon because I was originally promised a programmer position in this tech company at 20 a hour. When I showed up I was told
That actually the position is for a CSR at 10 after I turned down a 16 per hour job for the original 20. So because I was falsely promised
I'm leaving this shit heap I am working for.
AllOutOfEucalyptus
Is that not illegal? Jeez.

I was a supervisor at my job. We had a new employee who had this trainer--the trainer was good at her job, but condescending. I got a lot >
complaints from the new employee. I addressed it as I could but there weren't other trainers. All I could do was try to be encouraging. >
Trainer eventually moved on to another department, and the new employee struggled, but I was human with her, trusted her work, and took >
her seriously. Eventually she began to show that she was quite dependable. When I was promoted, she eventually took my supervisor position.

Yep I just left my job; it was funny watching my boss make up reasons for it. I didn't have the heart to tell him he was a mediocre manager.
itsthevoiceman
You're right, you don't have the heart. Because a caring person would admit it to the person with that flaw, hoping that person changes.
Yep you got me all figured out from that single comment. You're very intuitive.
Spifflelight
You should have, but in a constructive manner. Feedback is good, and could at least help your remaining colleagues after you left.

I'm about to leave my job, I only take orders from the owner but I'm being paid nothing and the jobs stressful. My girlfriend just got a 1/
Job being paid more than 4 times as much as I get paid so I'm tempted to just go back to school and find something less stressful
I pivoted to a career in tech/design about four years ago without more schooling. If you're devoted to something it can work.
Yea I'm signed up for the nypd it's just a long wait to get into academy. By next year hopefully I should be in so in not too worried
thisisnottheusernameurlookingfor
I would trade an insufferable incompetent supervisor for a mediocre one which I had the displeasure of working for.

But what would you trade for a Klondike bar?
