Our daughter's finished playhouse bed!

She was quickly outgrowing her toddler bed, but after looking at the overpriced "big girl beds" we decided to build our own. We used the left over paint from her room, some spare trim pieces and about $250 in Accessories and "B" grade wood from our local home improvement store.

Decided to put cedar shakes on the "roof" for dimension

The bed, before paint and details were added.

We had to bring it into her room in 4 separate pieces and bolt it together there. The mattress is lofted and sits on top.

Inside view of ladder & chalkboard.

Added some Contac type chalkboard paper to the inside so she could draw and play school.

Why would you pay $250 for scraps?

Because they're fucking awesome scraps apparently.
