This wasn't this year's harvest. I just saw a bunch of people posting mushrooms, so I wanted to join in.

Nice morels!

This is a gorgeous dress.

ah yes, that's what I'm here for, the mushrooms.

I've found 17 pounds so far, this year. Although, it was all in the tick infested woods about 20 minutes from me. I'd prefer your situation for location.

I've seen those along the trail around my old job site!

wtf do you have a lot of fallen trees or live in a forest

2 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

What is the morel of your story?

2 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

@OP How do you cook them up in your neck of the woods? We do a sautee with butter for toppers for meat, and then breaded and fried in butter for stand alone. Also dehydrate to use in things like snack sticks and deer sausages.

We just saute them with butter and put them on burgers usually

Even though they dont taste any different, blonde morels are just so gorgeous. Maybe because where I live, they are less common than black morels? Oh well, enjoy your bounty!

I did not read the title and assumed it was a video of someone showing off their cool dress. Realizing it's a photo took me longer than I'd like to admit

I, too, have collected morels from my yard. I'm glad I sliced them open to clean them because I found a few with snails living inside them. They were indeed delicious (the morels, not the snails, whom we set free)

Hey dm me. I'm nothereforfood

Awesome find! I use morels as a trigger for lucid dreaming, because the only time I ever find them is when I'm asleep

I've picked these before. Up in the Blue mountains in Washington. So good!

2 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

I have no morels, so I confess it took me a while to spot yours

Splendid fungus harvest! Were these picked in an old forest fire area? That high-carbon humic soil is a great spot to find them!

2 years ago | Likes 4 Dislikes 0

Nope, just my backyard. Though we do search areas that have had fires as well :)

They are quite small. You should have let them mature more. They'll usually grow to about 2x-5x that size, sometimes even more.

2 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

Not in our backyard. We've tried to let them get bigger but then they just go to mush without growing anymore.

2 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Why did you pick the this small, are they best tasting this size?

2 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

They don't get much bigger in my yard. They stop growing and turn to mush.

Ah makes sense, thanks =)

yummy

Awesome! All we get are Oysters, Chanterelles, and the rare patch of Black Trumpets.

2 years ago | Likes 9 Dislikes 0

My favs! Just make sure and cook them thoroughly.

2 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

I think I've seen this picture before

2 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

@op I don’t suppose you know anyone that sells morels?

2 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

I do not

2 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

If they grow in your area, just go hunt them. Otherwise, check Facebook marketplace. There will be a ton of ppl selling them if they grow around there.

2 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

some markets do. I found some at my local specialty market. as big as my hand.

2 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

I sometimes sell mine to Pierre. Otherwise, i use them for Life Elixir.

If you're in the Eastern half of the U.S. or Canada and you've got morels coming up, you may well have ramps around as well. They tend to come up around the same time and grow in the same environments. Probably also some fiddleheads to be had.

2 years ago | Likes 5 Dislikes 0

Lightly fried fiddleheads are delicious! 😋

2 years ago | Likes 6 Dislikes 0

Mmmm fiddleheads

2 years ago | Likes 4 Dislikes 0

We find lots of Dryad's saddle ( pheasant's back) same time and place as the ramps and fiddleheads

Aw well now you're just making up fantastical names. And I'm here for it.

How about witch's butter , stinkhorn, devil's fingers and dog vomit?

2 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Ah, a woman of loose morels!
