Avatar: The Last Airbender

The one about Katara being in all 5 season finale is a bit dated considering there were 7 season finales, Katara not appearing in the last 2

#4 good thing too!

every style in is based on a kung fu style: Waterbenders=T'ai chi ch'uan Earthbenders=Hung ga firebender=shaolin and airbender=ba gua 1/2

and you can find some of the form coded online. I'll deliver!

Oh my god the Boulder = the Rock... God I'm so dumb.

11 years ago | Likes 62 Dislikes 0

idk how i missed the footloose comparison

11 years ago | Likes 5 Dislikes 0

As if the loss of Lu Ten wasn't sad enough. "Tales of Ba Sing Se" still yanks on my heartstrings.

11 years ago | Likes 26 Dislikes 0

I personally enjoyed Sokka's bit, especially when he gets thrown out.

My bunny is named Momo, partially because of this show & partially because she's a little fuzzy peach. Rex rabbits are amazing.

11 years ago | Likes 10 Dislikes 1

Momo are also delicious Tibetan dumplings.

11 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

I named my cat momo too <3

I finished legend of korra today, so many feels. Thank you so much. This helped. I think I might just start over again, with Aang.

11 years ago | Likes 18 Dislikes 3

The comics are seriously so good. I highly recommend reading some of them before rewatching the show.

11 years ago | Likes 5 Dislikes 1

I want the comics but don't know which one to start with. Help?!?

11 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

There are the trilogies and the lost adventures, which I haven't read yet but the trilogies start with The Promise, which has 3 books.

That gif kind of has a rhythm to it don't you think

11 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Supposedly that's the original Toph design. It explains why all the other characters in the opening credits are major except for him.

11 years ago | Likes 12 Dislikes 0

wait.. Mark Hamill was THAT character?!! I didn't know he played Luke!

11 years ago | Likes 23 Dislikes 1

What you did there, I see it.

11 years ago | Likes 4 Dislikes 0

But Toph doesn't. BAM!

11 years ago | Likes 4 Dislikes 0

yeah she does with her feetsies

11 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

Revenge of the Sith came out in 2005, so a kid who is 9 today and watches A:TLA was born after the most recent Star Wars movie.

11 years ago | Likes 4 Dislikes 0

Maybe I'm just getting older, but does the current younger generation not know Mark Hamill as Luke Skywalker?

11 years ago | Likes 16 Dislikes 0

Not unless they have seen Star Wars, and even then they dont know his real name.... kinda sad, eh?

11 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

They will by Christmas

11 years ago | Likes 14 Dislikes 0

My boyfriend actually didn't know who he was. He is also 32 so has no excuse

11 years ago | Likes 4 Dislikes 0

Mark Hamill also voiced The Joker!!!

11 years ago | Likes 64 Dislikes 2

Voice acting is pretty much his main gig, isn't it? I like his characters.

11 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Still my favourite Joker. Ledger's was a masterpiece but in terms of pure straight-up craziness it's got to be Hamill

11 years ago | Likes 6 Dislikes 0

and General Crozier in metalocalypse

11 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

And the trickster

11 years ago | Likes 11 Dislikes 0

and a ton of other bad guys

11 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

well he played the trickster

11 years ago | Likes 6 Dislikes 0

In the old Flash and the new one!

11 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

And a bunch of adventure time characters. He has actually done more voice over work than regular acting. I think he voices Skips from RS too

11 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

I'm really happy they didn't make azula zuko's older brother. It turned out so much better this way

11 years ago | Likes 14 Dislikes 0

Yea I prefer Zuko being the heir apparent who lost his birthright.

11 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Yes, because azula is way more awesome. And hot. And voiced by Grey Delisle.

11 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

Same goes for Toph not being a guy. It's a step into the direction of more gender equality on screen, and also I like non-stereotypical >

11 years ago | Likes 9 Dislikes 0

Though I'm really glad they did it that way in this case, going to the opposite extreme isn't the same as non stereotyped.

11 years ago | Likes 4 Dislikes 0

Well, between "male" and "female" for an overly tough person the non-stereotypical choice is also the exact opposite.

11 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

characters much better. :)

11 years ago | Likes 6 Dislikes 0

That moment when I realise that Mark Hamhill makes Ozai's voice: http://www.reactiongifs.com/r/2013/03/agape.gif

11 years ago | Likes 8 Dislikes 0

He's also Skips in Regular Show. Though I really do love his VA work with Ozai, so goood.

11 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

And Stickybeard from KND.

11 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

If you've seen the movie Hook, Zuko is the voiced by Rufio. I had the same reaction when I figured that out

Dante Basco (voice of Zuko) said in an interview that it was a strange experience recording the dramatic scenes calling Mark Hamil ...

11 years ago | Likes 148 Dislikes 0

Ive actually met dante basco before. He is pretty awesome. Extremely friendly, down to earth and fun to talk to.(1)

11 years ago | Likes 5 Dislikes 0

Me and my sis had a conversation with him when he was a guest at an anime convention asa guest in my town

11 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

"father" when Mark Hamil is known for the most famous dramatic father/son scene of all time (Vader/Luke).

11 years ago | Likes 131 Dislikes 0

I've cried 2 different times watching avatar, 1rst time watching zuko come to terms with his rage at the beach party, 2nd time was 1/

11 years ago | Likes 11 Dislikes 0

The second time I watched that same scene probably 4years later. He resonated so much with me as a teenager...

11 years ago | Likes 11 Dislikes 0

You have to be a robot not to cry at the part where Uncle Iroh is morning his son. THE FEEEEEEELLLLLLSSSSSS

11 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

Dante Basco also played Rufio in Hook, another one of my childhood favorites

11 years ago | Likes 22 Dislikes 0

Whaaaat. I'm a huge Avatar fan and I never mad that connection.. Damn..

11 years ago | Likes 7 Dislikes 0

Yeah he is Rufiooooooi

11 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

He's done quite a bit of voice work. Him and Mark Hamill both moved to mostly voice roles after their on-screen successes.

11 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

My favorite Zuko fact: Dante Basco's rather most famous role? Rufio in Hook. Another story where he has father issues...

Uncle Iroh was my favorite.

11 years ago | Likes 10 Dislikes 0

It was also the last episode with the actor who originally voiced him, Mako, before he died. Double feels. He did a ton of great work.

11 years ago | Likes 9 Dislikes 0

he was Aku in Samurai Jack!

11 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Not true. Mako finished the season and died after wrap. They give the dedication there because it was the best iroh moment

11 years ago | Likes 4 Dislikes 0

Did they named the character Mako in "The Legend of Korra" for him?

11 years ago | Likes 7 Dislikes 0

That they did.

This show is a masterpiece. There is no other word to describe it. It is a masterpiece

11 years ago | Likes 2069 Dislikes 18

eh, film was better

11 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 3

I say the feeling of the ending is pretty much comparable to The Lord of the Rings. Simply majestic.

11 years ago | Likes 6 Dislikes 1

Idd.The legend of korra was not as good as the avatar:the last airbender. But it was still good, the story of the first avatar was epic!

11 years ago | Likes 7 Dislikes 2

I thought they were both just as good but each just had a different style.

11 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 1

Ya it's pretty good

11 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

These 11 images though... WHYYYY! :(

11 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Honestly, there needs to be more American shows like this. Avatar is par for the course in terms of above average Japanese Anime quality

11 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 3

Ugh! The feels they're too much! It hurts sooo good!

11 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

I own 2 dvd sets and have it on dvr/on my comp. My favorite show of all time. Nearly flawless in every way.

11 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Korra in my opinion is also about as good in my opinion. They are both amazing

11 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 1

So true! I still go back about once a year (sometimes more!) and just marathon the whole thing over again. It's so dang good!

11 years ago | Likes 7 Dislikes 1

You are correct. They are other ways of saying this, but you are right.

11 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

I've never understood why people think that but I might give it another shot here soon.

11 years ago | Likes 7 Dislikes 1

The first season begins much more as a kids show, alot of people have trouble getting into it because of that, but it changes quite a bit.

11 years ago | Likes 5 Dislikes 0

I feel like I mostly watched the first season. I'm hoping the main characters get more enjoyable and the fights get better.

11 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

The fights, especially in season 3 are pretty epic.

11 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Each season is better than the first. The first is good, but the second and especially the third are just incredible

11 years ago | Likes 6 Dislikes 0

I feel like that's the one I really saw. I just remember not really liking the main characters.

11 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 1

Yeah the first season only finds itself in the end. But the second two are wonderful.

11 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

I tell everyone to watch it. Especially if they have kids, but even if they don't. It's really the best animated series I've ever seen.

11 years ago | Likes 188 Dislikes 4

How many episodes is it, i want to watch it but i dont want to watch something that drags on for too long

11 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

There are 3 seasons for a total of 61 half-hour episodes. The sequel series has fewer episodes, but they're prettier.

11 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

It's also worth nothing that AtLA is three 20 ep seasons of one story and AtLoK is four 12 episode seasons, each season it's own story.

5 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

60, IIRC. About 20 per season, three seasons. Then there´s Legend of Korra, but that´s another thing.

11 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

Only other animated shoe in its league is Gargoyles.

11 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

and mysterious cities of gold! Dam best animated show ever.

11 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Gargoyles is one of those rare series that holds up to the nostalgic memory of awesomeness.

11 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

I need help convincing my friend to watch it. It's amazing but he won't give it a chance.

11 years ago | Likes 35 Dislikes 1

Unfriend this person, he dumb.

11 years ago | Likes 17 Dislikes 3

Easy. Ask him "Do you like animated TV? Y/N" If N: don't even bother. If Y: this is the best animated TV series there is, so just watch it.

11 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

Doesn't matter. I don't like animated tv much but I love this show.

I never understood, why this character?

11 years ago | Likes 16 Dislikes 0

He goes crazy when the Avatar visits Kyoshi (a previous reincarnation of the Avatar) Island. So people use it to freak out over Avatar posts

11 years ago | Likes 6 Dislikes 0

A bit of tongue-in-cheek humor.

11 years ago | Likes 12 Dislikes 0

Or foam in cheek humor.

11 years ago | Likes 14 Dislikes 0

Same dude was in Korra. He had a picture of Aang in his hut on the beach when Korra was being a loner.

11 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

I... don't think that was him.

11 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

Had to be, Aang was doing the marble trick in the photo. He mentions meeting the other Avatar when he was a kid in his village or something.

11 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

There were literally dozens of kids in that village, and foamy mouth guy was hardly a "kid".

11 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

He was the only one who freaked out about that trick.

11 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

Yep, certainly so. Now go get some coffee, nerd! (Never thought I'd find a Devin Townsend reference over here, haha)

11 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

I've never seen it either, but I assumed it was some kind of anime. My world has gotten a little wider today.

11 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

You should get around to that. It's one of my favourite shows. Not just cartoons; SHOWS.

11 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Anime isn't really my thing, honestly.

11 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

It's not anime. Whilst it borrows from an anime art-style and Asian setting the pacing, story-telling and characters are very Western.

11 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Meh. Maybe someday. Doesn't really seem like my kind of show.

11 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

u should change ur name if u didnt know that

11 years ago | Likes 8 Dislikes 0

Step 1: Watch Avatar

11 years ago | Likes 7 Dislikes 0

It's on Amazon Prime, and, well, other places for free. It's worth it.

My girlfriend and I are both 24, and watched both series over the past few weeks. Worth every second.

11 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

Seriously though, just start with the first ep and make your way through, watch at your own pace and and you'll learn to love it!

11 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

Are you serious? You poor, poor soul. Go watch that shit right now

Anime fan here: watched a few episodes, the concepts of the universe are simple but in a way that allows a lot of awesome development 1/2

11 years ago | Likes 4 Dislikes 5

But if you watch ALL the episodes, the concepts of the universe aren't simple and there is a shitload of developement, SO... there you go

11 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

That's the good thing with simple ideas (good ones), they allow unlimited possibilities and development into more complex concepts.

11 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

I feel like noone got what i meant by "simple" and thought i was saying "simplistic". I'm not, simple but potent ideas are hard to find

11 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

but i found it to be too similar to anime's classical codes: characters are VERY conventional, so i quickly felt like i already watched it 2

11 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 5

You obviously didn't watch enough of it then. This show prides itself on being unconventional.

11 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

I probably didn't but you can't blame for not followin through a series that did not hook me. You have probably done that for other shows1/?

11 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

of it" for almost any series, this is no different, the fanbase gets pissed when you don't treat it as Masterpiece just cuz THEY love it 3

11 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

why can't i do it for this one? To be clear, i am rewatching now to give it an other chance, but you can say "you haven't watched enough 2/?
