A day in the life of a trucker (Mar 7, 2021)

Hey hey ! Short weekend, Sunday afternoon and already back behind the steering wheel. Got some septic tanks to haul, again.

And we're rolling. Here, passing a few gears, from 1st to 7th split, listening to some Thin Lizzy.

Music to chop ears to.

Some contractor with a minivan and a trailer went off-roading on the 401.

(I Know) I'm Losing You, by Rod Stewart. It's got an interesting drum solo near the end.

Stopped at the Mallorytown OnRoute when I noticed that the two tubs at the back of the trailer moved and were a few inches off the trailer on the helper's side.

The thing is, these tubs are about a ton each..which means I can't simply push them back on the trailer. So what I did is a classic "Improvise, adapt, overcome".

I used a chain that I hooked around one of the pipes.

And across to the other side where I attached to a ratchet load binder. All I had to do is krank, and krank, and krank.. slowly pulling the tubs back on the trailer.

After "three rounds" everything was back on its place. I strapped them tanks again and have them two or three extra kranks.

Someone else is hauling the same poopjugs.

The same Thin Lizzy song I was listening to this morning when I left our yard.

More music from the 70s. This time..a classic band from Montreal.. Offenbach. They're one of the only French speaking bands that do get airplay on Montreal's classic rock radio station.

That song makes me want to get a Hammond B3.

And finally at my destination in South Woodslee ON, not too far from Windsor.

Got my dinner warmed up, with some veggies. And after that, bed !

Titus, my sweetheart's ( @choppingdeadcats ) old pupper. He's 12½ years old. I took him for a walk this morning, and we went on the frozen river in front of our home.
