Isn't that the species that spider owners have to sign a document to never release into the wild? Because they quite literally can destroy your vegetative area, two enough to do serious damage to a tree, but they are very good for feeding big spiders like tarantulas?

The Caterpillar wanted to eat something spicy. And it did just that.

Last year they killed my tomatoes. And the year before. This year they discovered my neighbor had gotten into gardening, and devoured HIS tomato plants. HATE these things.

3 of those assholes are over 100 cherry tomatoes

My bearded dragon loves these but you can’t feed them wild ones because depending on what they eat (like tomato plants), they might be toxic

My neighbors chickens are awesome at controlling these demons

At least you can squish it and get revenge, not that I'm saying you should. I have a bunny that decimated one of my hydrangeas. Thoughts?

Where there's one, there's usually more. Look for their black droppings to see how many.

I went out to my garden one morning and found a bunch like this:

I used to pick those eggs off the caterpillars when I was little. Don't know if I saved the caterpillar or killed it and the wasps

Hornworms will decimate everything leaving you with its massive turds as a parting gift.

We had a dog named BJ as a kid that would eat them off the plants. He was a good dog.

I like squishing them. Not hard enough to kill 'em, but hard enough to see them struggle with slipping through my fingers. Lol

Sooo after you plant the thing and it grew a bit you should buy some birds who eat that evil fella?

8 months ago | Likes 4 Dislikes 2

Good bait

There’s little more satisfying than catching them early though. Following the trail of turds and taking vengeance on the defoliators. Well worth the sunburn

Yes! I just relocate them to my patch of vinca, because they're really pretty moths that are excellent pollinators. I just don't want them eating my tomatoes!

I bought a UV flashlight to find them at night. Hornworms and other caterpillars glow. Been super helpful the last few years.
