I grew up in the rural area of a red state. You'd be surprised what happens and gets covered up. My boyfriend is a corrections officer and he has a couple inmates that are in prison for that. Also a sheriff in KY last month just killed the judge in town cause he found out he was messing with his daughter.

Well that’s a bright side. I wish that is what happened here — in my rural town sexual assault has happened to a lot of my close relatives and was absolutely covered up or had one side of the family in denial. In my experience the thing protected is the abuser not the abused. Thank god at least one of them finally died of old age
