I haven’t lol’d in awhile, but this. The format, the timely reference, the historical context, the precision. She’s a beaut mate.

Well, follow the money and power. People aren't that afraid of plagues but war always does it...

Germany in WWIII: "Wait, where's Italy?"
The rest of the Allied Powers: "Oh, they'll be here soon. ¯\_(ツ)_/¯ "

4 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Kinda surprising, I assumed we (the US) were going to be the baddies in WWIII.

4 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

The dream team (maybe)

Tbf the Holy roman empire, fought with England in the grand alliance against napoleon.

Wellington..."give me Blucher or night"

4 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

I have a weird feeling we won't be fighting with the Germans or the Brits...

4 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

History teaches us Germany is a BEAST in war; I like the idea of fighting with them rather than against them (Japan too.)

4 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

well, the world has to learn that world wars are a service we can't provide every time.

4 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

The thing is, who exactly is Russia allied with? I think they have a non-aggression agreement with china but they're low on friends.

4 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Nukes are probably the only reason they weren't steamrolled a long time ago.

4 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

Germany figthing? With what? Our chief of staff just wrote in LinkedIn: We're caugth with our trousers down. It doesn't feel good.

4 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

The Germans fought with Allied forces at least one battle of WWII https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Battle_of_Castle_Itter

Out of all our European neighbours, I respect and admire modern Germany more than any other. One of the few true Paragon nations we have atm

Correction.....LEFT wing

4 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

This is going to be the first world war with decent memes.

4 years ago | Likes 4 Dislikes 0

There will be no war for the very reason Germany blocked Ukraine from joining NATO for the last two decades.

4 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

If you can't beat them, join them!

Boxer Rebellion (1900) group effort lead by the Brits. Russians on our side too. 55 Days in Peking (movie) with Charlton Heston.

4 years ago | Likes 5 Dislikes 0

Also the Battle of Castle Itter at the end of WWII, although I don't know if there were any British there, just Americans and French.

4 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

Not a world War though.

4 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

THAT'S A BINGO!

4 years ago | Likes 17 Dislikes 1

If Russia reabsorbs Ukraine with no pushback from the West, that greenlights China to reabsorb Taiwan with no consequences.

4 years ago | Likes 14 Dislikes 1

We already know that's happening because the Chinese media accidentally leaked a memo with Russian media literally saying as much.

4 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Excellent point, but please dont say reabsorb. That makes it sound like it has a sliver of credibility. Its conquer. Especially with Ukraine

4 years ago | Likes 6 Dislikes 1

Unfortunately, from the mindset of Russia and China, it's ”reabsorb", since neither recognizes the independance of Ukraine and Taiwan.

4 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 1

Pls no more war ffs

4 years ago | Likes 11 Dislikes 0

Oh. Thanks. As soon as Putin sees your statement he will call his troops back.

4 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

There is no war involving US/EU. There's big talk, but not a single NATO member state will do anything but talk tough and complain.

4 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

True, and that is the concerning thing. Believe me you will arrive at the point where you wish NATO would have responded within 5 years.

4 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

CaspianReport on youtube has been making videos for years showing the reasons, history, and future. Most people just don't care.

4 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Not the first! Battle of Castle Itter. One of the strangest battles of WWII.

4 years ago | Likes 80 Dislikes 1

An American Army captain, a Waffen SS officer & a German Army major defended French hostages from Nazis in an medieval Austrian castle....

How had I not heard of Sabaton History before?

4 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

I thought Germany was sitting on the sidelines...?

4 years ago | Likes 65 Dislikes 7

I wonder if they could play a game of.. musical chairs?- send defensive troops, police, nurses? to Nato country X.. so X could send more

4 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

of theirs to west ukraine so west could send more east.

4 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

HEY! We provided *helmets* for the Ukraine military!

4 years ago | Likes 26 Dislikes 0

Oh is that where they got the spike helmets with the skulls on them?

4 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 2

Yes we are on the sideline. And I fear we stay there until the russian tanks stand on our border. Than we cry for america for help.

4 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

It is shamefull.

4 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

I really don't get why everyone has been saying this. Delivering weapons is pretty much the only thing Germany hasn't done.

4 years ago | Likes 4 Dislikes 0

iirc they wouldn't even allow military transport aircraft through their territory

4 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

IIRC The Brits never even asked for passage instead electing to fly around Germany.

4 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

Germany is part of the reason Ukraine was never allowed to join NATO in the first place. Germany WANTS Ukraine to fall, and always has.

4 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 2

In what world would it benefit Germany to let Ukraine fall into Russian hands? Also why would it support Ukraine if it wants it to "fall"?

4 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

The world where Germany doesn't have to fight a war with Russia over Ukraine and can just let all the Ukrainians suffer instead.

4 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

You sound extremely deluded.

4 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

And Germany supports it because 35% of their natural gas comes from Russia. Russia is their #1 trade partner, they are economic BFFs.

4 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

They weren't providing weapons or selling weapons to Ukraine. However they supplied medical supplies and body armor. They also pulled ns2

4 years ago | Likes 92 Dislikes 2

Safety certification on North Stream 2 pipeline are postponed. This way it can't be used.

4 years ago | Likes 18 Dislikes 0

ns2?

4 years ago | Likes 22 Dislikes 0

Natursekt

4 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Nord Stream 2 natural gas pipeline from Russia to Germany's Baltic coast.

The pipeline

national socialism 2

4 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 1

A somewhat inappropriate abbreviation...

4 years ago | Likes 13 Dislikes 1

Don't think anyone wants Germany to pull a ns2

4 years ago | Likes 5 Dislikes 1

Natural Selection 2

4 years ago | Likes 6 Dislikes 0

Beat me to it. Now there's something you don't see every day, thank God.

4 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

I have to admit, I was shocked when the Jerries suspended the Nordstream 2 pipeline. I never thought that they would get that serious

4 years ago | Likes 573 Dislikes 12

People won't need gas if their towns are destroyed

4 years ago | Likes 4 Dislikes 4

I mean they just refused to certify it for activation. The pipeline is and will remain there as far as I have been able to tell.

4 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

suspended, makes me think as soon as we are not looking all will be forgiven

4 years ago | Likes 5 Dislikes 0

lmao "the jerries" Tally ho, old chap! pip pip and the like! We'll lick them next time!

4 years ago | Likes 4 Dislikes 1

Meanwhile Boris Johnson is too scared to piss off his bosses

4 years ago | Likes 23 Dislikes 2

Germany is actually doing pretty well on ethics and making it a better nation. So it isnt shocking they'd react that way to me.

4 years ago | Likes 4 Dislikes 0

The Germans have had a functioning democracy for decades. Russia has never had one for more than a couple of years.

4 years ago | Likes 6 Dislikes 0

Suspended is weak. The move that would really show action is "Dismantled".

4 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 2

Wrong. Then you can’t dangle it over Putin as a reward for good behavior. Never give your enemies “nothing left to lose”. Ever.

4 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

It's not a government owned pipeline, so only the process of the operating license has been put on hold

4 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

Shocked me too. I’d have bet the house they would have kept going

4 years ago | Likes 4 Dislikes 0

I'd have been less surprised if Scholz had thrown himself in front of the pipeline yelling "Stop shooting at my pipeline!".

4 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Germany is down to using only 4% of their energy needs from Russian natural gas. Alternative fuel sources are exploding there

4 years ago | Likes 35 Dislikes 0

If Germany is smart they build a bunch of geothermal energy plants on their super massive volcano. https://youtu.be/ILKeoTp8gOQ

4 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

cool video, but the way he pronounces German names gave me eye twitches. Well researched video, but why not look up names with sound??

4 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

4 years ago | Likes 6 Dislikes 0

It will be replaced by LPG gas from fracking. So yay!

4 years ago | Likes 12 Dislikes 4

I mean, hopefully they’ll start restarting nuclear power plants.

4 years ago | Likes 5 Dislikes 2

Impossible. The narrative against nuclear power is WAY too strong in Germany. They got people believing they don't want it so they could →

4 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

→ keep the coal industry afloat for a longer time (especially lignite which is a particularly hot topic).

4 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

I wish, but as a German I am very confident that that's not gonna happen anytime soon.

4 years ago | Likes 6 Dislikes 0

Was it operational? Pretty sure it's not been used yet atleast.

4 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

It's completed but non-operational because they haven't finished all the testing. "Suspended" might only be for 6 months for all we know.

4 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

That’s why I said suspended, it’s still be constructed.

4 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 1

It is constructed, it was just waiting on contracts to begin operation.

4 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

It's construction is finished but it needed some final certification/audit which has been suspended by our govt.

4 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

Germany has been protecting Russia in the EU for over 20 years now and it seems that has come to an end. That's why the sanctions 1/

4 years ago | Likes 4 Dislikes 0

proposed by the EU are "surprisingly strict". Because the other states were not opposed by Germany any more. 2/2

4 years ago | Likes 4 Dislikes 0

That and fact I think only nations actually supporting putin's agenda are pooh bear and Kim who both benefit most from it.

4 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Even Pooh bear seems to be against his actions, if only publicly.

4 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

As someone who doesn't understand the economic underpinnings of other nations, is this a thing, a BIG thing, or a "Fuck...." big thing?

4 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

I'd a big thing. We currently pay around 40 Cents per kWh. Loading Nordstream 2 won't make things easier.

4 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

It's not even in use yet and they might just put it in use next year anyway. The pipeline itself is already complete.

4 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

It's a big deal in that it cost 11 billion euros to complete, but you are correct in that it's not necessarily a permanent stop. I'd also-

4 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

add that afaik Germany's still purchasing gas via the first pipeline.

4 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Correct, which is further evidence that this will be noise and talk and then go away just like Crimea "went away" for Germany's politics.

4 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Putin did in a day what environmentalists have been trying to do for years.

4 years ago | Likes 367 Dislikes 3

Oh that Putin! Such a good guy! A silly prankster as well, it's too bad Ukraine can't take a joke. Get a sense of humor, guys.

4 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 1

Is this his alternative motives Putin and Greta are in mascopi

4 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

Fox news left equivalent : "Putin the environmentalist further progresses the healing of the earth!"

4 years ago | Likes 119 Dislikes 4

That's funny, pretending any of them care about healing the earth. All they see is something to develop/exploit for $$$

4 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 2

Ecoglasnost 2, Putin the Environment 1st

4 years ago | Likes 4 Dislikes 0

Next he'll cancel out global warming with nuclear winter what a great guy!

4 years ago | Likes 41 Dislikes 0

If legit wanted to ask at what point we would be better off throwing enough debris into the atmosphere to trigger a (non-nuclear) winter?

4 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

probably soon the cascade effects are already kicking in the question is how and how much? Volcanos have triggered "Mini ice ages" b4

4 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Germany is arguably the most powerful country in the EU and Europe, it’s good they have gone in strong. Hopefully others will follow.

4 years ago | Likes 187 Dislikes 3

Ja.. No one suspects a strong Germany. Now... get me a bier, a bratwurst, und the Rheinland. We have much to do.

4 years ago | Likes 9 Dislikes 0

I'm genuinely shocked at the decision. Yes, there's still pipeline 1; they're still buying gas. But I *live* here and I was sadly talking

4 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

about how disappointed I was that they weren't taking any form of stance or sanctions, then I got home and saw the news. SO pleased.

4 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

The morons decommissioned their nuclear plants, now they are extremely dependent on Russia for energy. Morons.

4 years ago | Likes 12 Dislikes 23

France has enough to power other countries as well but they have half of them turned off, just need to flip a switch.

4 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

Public support and demand after Fukushima. Bit too hastily decided at the time, but followed the political climate at the time.

4 years ago | Likes 8 Dislikes 0

Not sure why you are being downvoted you are %100 correct.

4 years ago | Likes 7 Dislikes 0

Arguably might be underselling it, but otherwise yes

4 years ago | Likes 6 Dislikes 0

Germany and the UK are both powerful. Germany has the money and industrial power, UK has tech, finance and trade. I’d still put Germany #1.

4 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

Well, UK is not in the EU so this girl/guy's point stands.

4 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 1

My original comment said the EU, and Europe. Pretty sure the UK is still part of Europe.

4 years ago | Likes 4 Dislikes 0

In case of GDP yes. Our military is absolut shit.

4 years ago | Likes 74 Dislikes 0

For now…. I’m sure Moltke will rise from the grave and get you guys moving again

4 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

There are two good reasons for that…

4 years ago | Likes 80 Dislikes 0

U are absolutely right!!!!!!

4 years ago | Likes 24 Dislikes 0

Historically, yes, but Germany is no longer bound by WWII restrictions on its military. They have just chosen, oddly, not to invest in it.

4 years ago | Likes 21 Dislikes 1

German Leopard tanks are still the best on the planet with the South Korean black panther close behind.

4 years ago | Likes 5 Dislikes 1

Nothing odd about that. Spend money on building a better society, not on waging war. Might as well lead by example.

4 years ago | Likes 30 Dislikes 0

Agreed. Germany has the money and the industry. The UK has the best military in Europe. It puzzles me why Germany’s military is still so bad

4 years ago | Likes 22 Dislikes 1

No need. We are surrounded by allies and our constitution forbids wars of aggression.

4 years ago | Likes 9 Dislikes 0

It's mostly due to a lot of bad investment decisions, money is wasted on all ends and improvements take ages.

4 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

My country, just like our military will eventually regulate itself to death.

4 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Essentially after WW2 they didn’t have a big one, saved loads of money thought “this is quite good”, carried on

4 years ago | Likes 24 Dislikes 0

Nonsense after ww2 we had the second largest army in Nato. Only after reunification we reduced it to its current abysmal state

4 years ago | Likes 4 Dislikes 0

It really shouldn't, given Germany's history.

4 years ago | Likes 8 Dislikes 11

Why? Germany are no longer bound by any restrictions placed upon them after WWII. They could build a huge military force if they wanted to.

4 years ago | Likes 6 Dislikes 1

I wonder how the UK's military compares to the French one - I've heard the French military mentioned in relation to the crisis.

4 years ago | Likes 8 Dislikes 0

One of the differences is that the French tanks have 1 forward gear, and 5 reverse gears…. Incase the enemy attacks from the front ;)

4 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 1

UK and FR militaries each have differing needs but similar budget. So some areas one is better than the other, then opposite in others.

4 years ago | Likes 8 Dislikes 0
