I approve of this comic. Got some from my sister's maple shack to give to some dear friends!

I remember the strange airport rules after 9/11 regarding liquids in your luggage. At the Pearson Airport in Toronto, maple syrup was routinely confiscated back then.

*French toast

As a Canadaian it is obvious the comic characters are not Canadian maples. They would be being forced at gun point by the Maple Syrup Magia if they were.

French toast is where it's at. I Could eat my weight in it, and still be ready for more.

Hate to be a downer but they wont be donating anything in a tube that goes uphill...

What a sappy comic.

I literally eat French toast every day with real maple syrup. I'm living the dream.

How do you afford such luxury?!

I'm autistic: I eat French toast for dinner every night and a lot of time for lunch for 6 months out of the year. I only use 1 egg for 4 pieces of bread and a quarter cup of milk. Nothing else. Some times I go crazy and use butter on my cooked slices. Always maple syrup. If that isn't available, i use my stash of honey from my dad's bees. French Toast Season. It is one of the best parts of my day. For like 15 years, maybe more.

I like French toast with some fruit like sliced strawberries or blueberries

Of all the artificial things in the world, I think this is one of the highest contrasts; spring for the real stuff, boys and girls; you'll never go back.

I prefer sugar-free, honestly. I like the taste more, and the clean-up is 100 times easier. My facial hair also likes it more.

When it isn't counterfeit.

The real stuff gives me the runs 😖

Most of the family prefers the flavored corn syrup. I’ll take the savings.

Yeah my wife and kids both like Aunt Jemima. So now I buy both.

It's the cost. I was forced to go back.

When it comes to syrup I Don't Care At All But I Should

The health impacts of HFCS are more expensive

Versus maple syrup? Sugar is sugar, man. It should always been consumed in moderation - regardless of the percentages of sucrose and glucose.

Yikes buddy

2 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 1

Not in the case of HFCS. Our bodies do not recognise it and switch off sugar cravings. We always want more.

I agree about moderation, but that would make maple syrup a marginal expense.

$16 verses $3.50, sometimes even less. Hardly a marginal expense.

Yeah, I realized not long after writing it that there's probably people out there who eat waffles (which I usually have jam on anyway) and pancakes a lot more often than I. That would certainly make a difference.

It’s one of those things that just doesn’t need a cheaper alternative. Corn syrup is disgusting and terrible for you. I’d eat a dry ass stack of pancakes before putting corn syrup on it.

I don't eat pancakes that often so one 8-oz bottle of the real stuff lasts me all year, easy. Makes it easy to justify springing for the real stuff, especially when I can get it at a farmer's market straight from the bee keeper.

Are those maple bees he's keepin?
