Iron Man 2

Couldn't find a photo with people in the background. Sorry.

One fact you missed: I thought Jarvis was performed by Jude Law until the credits of Ironman 2.

#5 is way funnier if you imagine it referring to Avengers Age of Ultron instead of Iron Man

THANK YOU!!! THANK YOU SO MUCH!

Who knows what putting Palladium through a fictional arc reactor could do to it. Even turn it into a poison for organic material.

9 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

#1 the cruddy hulk movie w/ Edward Norton was the first one

9 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 1

The Incredible Hulk was released 6/13/08, Iron Man was release 5/2/08. Are you sure you understand how time works?

8 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

#19 huh, that's like my situation I never date any girls because I want Scarlett Johansson so badly.

9 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

But did you dye your hair?

8 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

Oh. That must be why it's not working. Damn it. I knew something was up after that "jumping the fence and flashing my genetals incedent".

#6 looks like it's not Caps shield, but the model from Iron man 2. The central building in Howards park looked like the shield

I really hate, some of the, unnecessary, commas.

9 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

I was a background actor in Iron Man 2

9 years ago | Likes 5 Dislikes 0

Me too, press conference at the end of the movie/Olivia Munn scene. Wish they'd let me keep the repulsor glove.

9 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

Awesome! I was in the Stark expo scene at the end when Justin Hammer reveals the drones.

9 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Nice! I heard Gary Shandling gave Rockwell tips on how to do that unveiling.

9 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

#13 - context; renting starts at about $700/day and a full package can be up to $10,000/week so a very, VERY, expensive mistake.

9 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

Sorry, but I call bullshit on the #1. First film was Hulk, like it or not

9 years ago | Likes 11 Dislikes 11

Ironman was the first "Marvel Studios" movie, but I agree that Hulk was the first Marvel Cinematic Universe film /1

9 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 3

The first Hulk was never part of the MCU, and if you're referring to "The Incredible Hulk" it was released in June. A month after Iron Man.

9 years ago | Likes 15 Dislikes 0

Besides, nice dumperino!

9 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 5

Actually, not Hulk. I believe they state that The Incredible Hulk was the actual first one in the MCU. "Hulk" was the Ang Lee trainwreck.

9 years ago | Likes 4 Dislikes 0

The Incredible Hulk came after Iron Man 1, but it was a direct sequel to Hulk even though Hulk wasn't made by Marvel Studios.

9 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Ironman was the first "Marvel Studios" movie, but I agree that Hulk was the first Marvel Cinematic Universe film.

9 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 3

Another fun fact: The original theme for Iron Man 2 was written by Tom Waits but rejected. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=AoDZ6PhvF3E jk

Much better than the so called comic "facts"

9 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Actually, Howard the duck is the first movie set in the marvel cinematic universe. He's even in guardians of the galaxy briefly.

9 years ago | Likes 21 Dislikes 4

Yes Howard the Duck is Marvel but the original movie isn't canon to the Marvel "Cinematic" Universe which started with Iron Man.

9 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

But he's IN guardians of the galaxy!

9 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 2

I hate to admit it, but you're technically correct. Which, as we all know, is the best kind of correct.

9 years ago | Likes 18 Dislikes 0

What we should *also* know is the context of that line: it was delivered by a bureaucrat to a bureaucrat in front of other bureaucrats.

9 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 1

i.e. the joke is that only *they* would think that... but now, I guess, that's how all of us are expected to think. <_<

9 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

Pretty sure that movie isn't cannon within the current MCU much like the Nick Fury movie with David Hasselhof.

9 years ago | Likes 10 Dislikes 0

But he's actually IN guardians of the galaxy

9 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 1

different version of the same character.

9 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 1

You shut your mouth.

9 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

Is... is she about to...

9 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Mmm, mallard mams.

9 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

#1 wasn't The Incredible Hulk out before Iron Man?

9 years ago | Likes 15 Dislikes 0

Yup, And Tony Stark was in the end credit scene which then led to Iron Man.

9 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 5

"The Incredible Hulk" came out 1 month after Iron Man. "Hulk" came out 5 years before but was not part of the "Marvel Cinematic Universe".

9 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

This one is not 100% accurate. Both the movie and car got released in 2008,but Tesla had already its release

9 years ago | Likes 11 Dislikes 5

Tony is the sort of guy who could probably procure a prototype/early model of a soon to be released car anyway.

9 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

It's also just a lotus body so they might have converted one.

9 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

All the roadsters are lotus body.

9 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Right, so they probably just took a lotus and slapped tesla badges on it.

9 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

My first thought is "is it actually a Tesla, or a Lotus?" Visually it would be very difficult to tell the difference.

9 years ago | Likes 4 Dislikes 0

Ya, that one bugs the shit out of me

9 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

I see. Was all of the Iron Man production done in 08?

9 years ago | Likes 14 Dislikes 2

Dial back the sass a couple notches, man.

9 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 9

Probably not.

9 years ago | Likes 5 Dislikes 4

See, you say palladium is nontoxic, and you'd be right...if it wasn't the core of a miniature nuclear reactor. Neutrons are bad, yo

9 years ago | Likes 97 Dislikes 4

Wasn't it the plasma in the centerpiece that got some type of contamination from the palladium decaying, then seeped into his body?

9 years ago | Likes 11 Dislikes 0

You're...mostly right. Neutron damage from nuclear reactions and radioactive decay. Hell, you can get neutrons from smoke detectors and foil

9 years ago | Likes 12 Dislikes 0

Like that boyscout that built a mini reactor in the shed in his backyard?

9 years ago | Likes 6 Dislikes 0

Feel sorry for how his life turned to shit

9 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 1

That's the one!

9 years ago | Likes 5 Dislikes 0

Toxic=/=radioactive

9 years ago | Likes 61 Dislikes 1

Correct, when radiation is of the variety, say, found in a banana. Not enough Bq to be toxic. But nuclear reactors? Yep, those are toxic

9 years ago | Likes 32 Dislikes 0

"A 24/7 reactor buried inside your chest? Yep, that'll do it." - Nick Fury, probably

9 years ago | Likes 23 Dislikes 0

Toxic here meaning will permanently damage your body given significant exposure, and potentially cause one's death

9 years ago | Likes 17 Dislikes 1

It's similar to the difference b/w poison and venom. Toxic is usually referred to chemical processes, so they are correct

9 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

Toxicity is defined as the degree to which a substance is harmful to animals. I'd argue neutrons qualify

9 years ago | Likes 5 Dislikes 1

True, although the fact that it stems from toxin refers to poisons. It's just an argument of semantics

9 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Actually, I just fact checked myself and I had it reversed (toxin came from toxic)! So my bad!

9 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

#1 is not true. Captain America is obviously the first film set in that universe.

9 years ago | Likes 35 Dislikes 15

You could argue that Captain America starts and ends during modern day (and after Iron Man), but shows us a flashback to old days.

9 years ago | Likes 10 Dislikes 0

Doesn't it start with Red Skull digging up the Tesseract?

9 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

I thought it starts with them finding Cap in the ice.

9 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

Oh yeah maybe you're right.

9 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Since Iron Man came out in 08', and Captain America: The First Avenger in 11', you're obviously wrong.

9 years ago | Likes 41 Dislikes 27

What about the X-Men movies??

9 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 2

Those aren't MCU; they're their own universe since Fox still owns the rights they bought back before marvel was organized about their movies

9 years ago | Likes 5 Dislikes 0

I believe he is jokingly referring to the fact that Captain America takes place before Iron Man.

9 years ago | Likes 20 Dislikes 1

Incredible Hulk is Canon

9 years ago | Likes 12 Dislikes 1

I think Iron Man was released about two months prior.

9 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

I thought the same. Hulk was June and Iron Man was May (but April premier in Sydney).

9 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

I think he is using the in-universe chronology, not the order of movie releases.

9 years ago | Likes 43 Dislikes 1

Then he shouldn't have specifically said "film"

8 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Fair enough. The fact is still valid though.

9 years ago | Likes 21 Dislikes 8

It's poorly written.

9 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 1

I though the incredible hulk was the first, remember the after credit scene with RDJ as Tony stark?

9 years ago | Likes 4 Dislikes 1

Iron Man came out first, hence why RDJ was in Hulk.

9 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

If you didn't use "beginning" in there it would have been fine. CA is the beginning of the marvel universe

9 years ago | Likes 9 Dislikes 0

#teamcap

9 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

we're talking about the marvel cinematic universe, though.

9 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Agreed

9 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Wouldn't it be thor with the flashback of odin picking up loki after the ice giants defeat? (But I have no idea about agardian time so idk)

9 years ago | Likes 7 Dislikes 0

CA:TFA wasn't a flashback, is was a fast forward at the end

9 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

I know but the one thing in thor could be timed before CA...

My wedding ring is made of Paladium and when the woman asked me what I knew about it. I said it powers the arc reactor to the iron man armor

9 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 1

Fun Fact: Palladium actually IS used in fusion reactor research. Some of them look just like the Arc reactor, aka fusion torus or "tokamak".

9 years ago | Likes 30 Dislikes 0

Nice, both of our rings are palladium with rose gold

9 years ago | Likes 9 Dislikes 0

yea well my uhh, glasses are Paladium....yea.

9 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 1

That's what I mean, if the hospital doesn't have the correct equipment to cut through some of the really strong metals, they cut through 1/2

9 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

your finger instead. Steel is cheap and can easily be cut through, so if my finger swells they can cut my ring, not my bone. 2/2

Wife's engagement ring is made of paladium, too. We're nerds and it's an awesome metal for jewelry. Win-win!

9 years ago | Likes 34 Dislikes 0

I don't know. He looks like a mighty engineer.

9 years ago | Likes 13 Dislikes 0

As a jeweler, palladium is a poor metal for jewelry, waaay too soft. go silver, at least it can strain/heat harden and is much cheaper.

9 years ago | Likes 4 Dislikes 0

Really? My wifes ring looks like new; from what I read it's a little bit harder than platinum but scratches a bit easier than white gold.

9 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

From my experience and that of my co-workers, palladium is very soft. White gold in the US is one of the hardest "standard" metals for (1)

9 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

(2) jewelry, because the primary metal, other than gold, is nickel. European white gold, I hear, has palladium and silver. Quite soft.

9 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Or platinum, more durable. Sadly also more expensive, though not as much as usual of late.

9 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0
