Wep. We ate tons of it in winter. Here. In France. Where you can find good cheese everywhere.

9 years ago | Likes 4 Dislikes 1

I never realized that a lot of people had never seen a raclette in their lives... I'm french and this is a "normal" thing to est in winter

9 years ago | Likes 57 Dislikes 2

I just cook in on a metal plate over a burner, this whole cheese wheel way is fancy

9 years ago | Likes 6 Dislikes 1

Good for you. Making feel better about ourselves.

9 years ago | Likes 10 Dislikes 1

Same thing here in switzerland ;)

9 years ago | Likes 7 Dislikes 0

And then there is that thing we germans call raclette... which really is something completely different

9 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

To be fair, swiss gastronomy isn't that good but at least we have the raclette for us :) (which is a BIG plus)

9 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

(Yeah, yeah, like our flag)

9 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

Buried deep down in the comments and no one upvoted you. Have it Sir, have it.

French in the US here, you can find the machine on Amazon and the cheese at Trader Joe's

9 years ago | Likes 7 Dislikes 0

French in the UK here, is it has good though ? Just doesn't taste the same here.

9 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

It depends. I've bought it at a regular grocery and it was awful, but specialty stores carry mostly decent stuff.

9 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

Thanks for the advise friend

9 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Maybe my standards are lower... I haven't had one in France for more than 3 years !

9 years ago | Likes 4 Dislikes 0

You know, for living in the cheese state. I have yet to see this...

9 years ago | Likes 7 Dislikes 2

Go for a trip to Europe and see what cheese really mean, little tip, when eating raclette you have to do so until death follow

9 years ago | Likes 6 Dislikes 0

It's more of a swiss thing. We have it a lot tho. Shit's delicious.

9 years ago | Likes 8 Dislikes 0

It comes from Swiss but it is now very common in Germany and France, each country eat it its own way

9 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 1

In swiss it's mandatory to eat raclette every sunday and wednesday. If you don't you can be forced to by the gouvernment.

9 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Yes, the land of obesity, epidemic levels of heroin, and alcoholism. And I wouldn't have it any other way.

The incessant boozing helps calm the withdrawls. And deep-seeded emotional scars. And good decisions. And excessive money. GO PACK GO!
