Still feeling pretty good too :)

I like to help people quit smoking by telling them stories about when I was going through chemo. Does that make me a hero?...no but it's fun

haven't smoked since the 31st

I smoked for 11 years and I quit cold turkey. The trick was not to think about cigarettes. It will be hard & you should take it a day by day

Good job OP

Im still on a vaporizer a couple months later but last time I tried to quit I only made it one day so this is a huge improvement!

One month? You're good.

Good job, keep it up!

Just hit two years last month! Get a quit smoking app, it'll help so much. And don't lose hope at 75 days when you have crazy mood changes.

Still a smoker who is in the process of cutting back to quit. It isn't easy. Congrats to you! +1

Quitting is easy. I’ve quit 10 times!

8 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

Do not FUCKING DONT ever think to yourself ‘oh just one’

Coming up on 7 years smoke free myself. It took many attempts and failures but if you can make it to a month, you're golden. Don't give up.

Keep it up! 7+ years. still get cravings, totally manageable.

I used the flu as my jumping off point to quitting. I figured I had already gone a few days without smoking- now I'm almost 2 weeks in.

I am in week 5 after open heart surgery. It is still pretty hard but I made it this far so I ain’t givin’ up now.

Highjacking your comment to share with people that the nicotine patch was the best decision I ever made. I used it for the full duration.

3 months and just had a daughter, I think the incentive helped

I quit cold turkey and never smoked another cigarette. All it took was determination, will power and a bottle of bourbon a day.

I thought it was harder when i drank. I had to quit both

8 years ago | Likes 20 Dislikes 0

Typically if you drink, you can never quit anything without quitting drinking first.

8 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

I literally only smoke when I drink. And since I drink everyday it's literally impossible to stop smoking.

8 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

Yeah, same here.

8 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Awesome! Did the book help you ?

8 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

Not really. The guy talked about himself so much it got annoying and I stopped reading lol

If you can get past the awful commercials, Chantix is a drug that legitimately helps. Binds the nicotine receptors and stops cravings.

8 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

Thought about it, couldn’t pay for it. Already through the withdrawal phase, so... eh. Thanks though :P

8 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

Don’t. Go. Out. Drinking. Trust me, you’ll have a couple beers with the guys and just start craving a smoke.

8 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

Not much of a drinker anyway, but thanks! :P

8 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

this is what always makes me relapse, it's the hardest part of quitting T_T

My father just died from smoking. Stick with it. Believe me. I’ve seen the end. It’s not good.

Sorry for your loss :(

8 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

Sorry for your loss. If I may ask, how are you holding up?

Replace smoking with another hobby, painting, excercise, goat sacrifices. Just something to fill the void

8 years ago | Likes 51 Dislikes 5

When you feel like a smoke fire up imgur. Always smooth.

8 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

I think goat sacrifices might open or widen the Void so be careful.

8 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

Nothing fixes and addiction quite like goat sacrifice.

The T-Rex from Jurassic Park would agree.

8 years ago | Likes 4 Dislikes 0

So far I’ve replaced it with eating -.- ... next goal is to lose weight lol

It was so hard for my husband to quit the gum. It took him years. Chantix finally did the trick but that shit is scary.

8 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

In what way?

8 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

It made him agressive and nasty. We had a deal if I felt uncomfortable with it that he would stop because i heard horror stories about it(1)

8 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

He was maybe 2 weeks into the 2nd package when I asker hik to stop. My husbands is normally a very happy easy going man. It was a big (2)

8 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Change in his personality. Thankfully it didnt take long for him to go back to normal. (end)

8 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Interesting. I would have thought those behaviors were more related to withdrawal symptoms, more so than the pill.
