OC

I have a friend who works for the government and this is the 3rd or 4th time they've had their personal information stolen

My credit is 597, they can have my info lol

I was just telling my friend I was so relieved to've gotten my credit back up over 800... the next day... Fucking Equifax.

If only it really was that easy

You are quite wrong. Actually.

8 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 1

Yeah I laughed then I realized thanks to medical debt I'll never buy another house or get another car loan with less than 20% interest.

What? Not living in the states sooo....

"What are they gonna do? Fix my credit?!?" -actual quote form my boyfriend when I realized he was compromised

8 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Or when your identity has already been compromised for years, and you don't care.

8 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Does is bother anyone he said "already is terrible" and not "is already terrible" ?

8 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

My credit score has made the biggest jumps in the last two months than it ever did them so Equifax!

8 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

Eh I'm too lazy to delete and fix my dumb auto correct. Hopefully my meaning gets across

8 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 1

SeriouslyAwkward starts typing when suddenly a wave of murders his freaking soul.

8 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 1

If anyone wants to steal my identity, all that will happen is that after checking everything, they'll feel so bad they'll start a gofundme

8 years ago | Likes 204 Dislikes 1

Same here - have been told NUMEROUS times that if my name is on an application it will be denied

8 years ago | Likes 18 Dislikes 0

if you can start a line of credit with my identity, i wont be mad. i'll be impressed. i'll even ask how you did it.

8 years ago | Likes 7 Dislikes 0

I just checked mine apparently I've been doing really well paying for a Lexus over the past two years

8 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

Oh don't worry, they'll just file your tax for you and if you have a return, they'll take it. Free tax service!

8 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Ha! Jokes on them cuz I'm going to owe this year.

8 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

You beat me to it

8 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

I have sub 530 credit that I'm starting to repair (because I finally grew up) and now I apparently moved to Texas. I live in Orlando. *Live*

8 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

Ive asked many times and got no responses. Any way I can protect myself? I have ~850 credit and don't want it to go down.

In case you have good credit refer to that link for a lot of good information

8 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 1

Thanks

8 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Thanks I actually think that's at least a helpful place to start

8 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

Hell yeah, No one wants my 500 credit score! I can't even get a credit rebuilding credit card.

8 years ago | Likes 14 Dislikes 0

Have you pulled your credit report? You may have some unpaid debts. Pay those off and your score will pop up.

8 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

I'm right there with you. My credit is way bad.

8 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

We're at 415 and 420. We've given up on owning a house; now we're trying to get the best trailer in the park. Lol

8 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 1

I can help! I went from a 515 to a 650 in a little over a year. Did tons of research, learned a lot, would be happy to share knowledge

8 years ago | Likes 6 Dislikes 0

Teach me your waysss

8 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

I'll send you a msg in the morning (bed time in my time zone) lots of info to share. Set an alarm on my phone so I won't forget lol

8 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

I feel your pain. Started my rebuilding in February. Up to 588 from 500. It's not impossible.

8 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

how'd you do it?

8 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

Pulled my credit report, made a list of who I owed, reached out to those companies and arranged payments, started paying. I sent you a 1/2

8 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

PM that's more detailed though in case you wanted to know a bit more of what I did. Too big for the comments lol. 2/2

8 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Except they can file a fake tax return in your name. File your taxes the second you get your return

8 years ago | Likes 29 Dislikes 0

#unemployed and a full time student. I HAVE NOTHING LEFT TO TAKE! Mwuahahah

8 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Except jokes on them when you have to pay in every year HAHAHAHAHAHHA

8 years ago | Likes 20 Dislikes 0

Still fucks you in the end. They file false return claiming you get money back, they take the money, IRS finds out, comes to you for money.

8 years ago | Likes 7 Dislikes 0

Joke is still on them, my shit gets taken by the state for child support so the more they file the more it helps me.

8 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 3

lolwat

8 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

I don't think you understand how tax fraud and GOING TO JAIL works. Or maybe you do.

8 years ago | Likes 8 Dislikes 0

No, what they're doing is stealing from the government in your name. Then you need to personally pay it back. Have fun with that.

8 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

You don't have to pay back shit. This just happened to me and I'm not out a thing but my time.

8 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

So do you have to have done some kind of business with Equifax to be in danger? I have no clue if I'm tied in this mess, and it was >

8 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

Like half the population of America so chances are, I am?

8 years ago | Likes 4 Dislikes 0

If you've ever applied for a credit card, mortgage, cell phone, car loan etc, you're in danger

8 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

I have a best buy card, like a credit card just for BB. Does that count? I rent, so no mortgage, I have no car and I pay my phone by the min

8 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

Most apartments check your credit anyway, so if they did, you're definitely in there.

8 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

Am I safe....er?

8 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

No. I just posted a link in a comment with all the information in it

8 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

You are not. If you have ANY credit card, a bank account, a cell phone, have signed a renting/leasing form, you are in equifax.
