Saw a couple of people post about quitting smoking. If you still do, quit for your health. Your family will be happy to have you around longer.

Cold turkey. Use a vape/e-cig for emergencies. Smoker for 12 yrs. Quit 4 yrs ago. E-cig was the key.

Congrats on quiting! I'm sure many are proud of you for doing so.

The first thing I noticed when I stopped smoking was how strong other people who smoked smelled. I then realized I used to smell like that.

9 years ago | Likes 18 Dislikes 0

The worst! Stale smoke gets on everything.

What is this from?

9 years ago | Likes 4 Dislikes 0

Be VERY careful once your cravings go away. You may think your "strong enough" to have just 1. Never do it again. Just that simple :)

9 years ago | Likes 7 Dislikes 0

I actually do occasionally still have one to remind me why I stopped. Usually after drinks struggle to get through a whole one so I'm good

I'm just over 48 hours without a cigarette. Already breathing better (and more irritable than a Tyrannosaurus Rex).

9 years ago | Likes 4 Dislikes 0

Eat ice cream, heard it helps lol. Hope you can keep it going! Best wishes!

I quit 3 weeks ago, anytime I see an anti-smoking commercial or post I really want to smoke...

9 years ago | Likes 4 Dislikes 0

Congrats! Keep counting and buy yourself something fun with all the money you saved!

I wish my wife would quit smoking.

9 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

Tell her how much it would mean to you and give up something with her!

My mom smoked for 40 years and died in February at the ripe old age of 53. Quit that shit now, while you still have a chance.

9 years ago | Likes 4 Dislikes 0

Sorry to hear that :-(, my dad had a heart attack but lived and has since stopped thankfully!

9 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

I'm glad to hear that!

I gradually quit smoking not smoked for a good 2-3 week now, saving this to show my brother, he's a worse smoker than i was n needs to quit.

9 years ago | Likes 4 Dislikes 0

Hope he does! Make a pact together and support one another when it gets hard. You both can do it!

9 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

I'm almost at one year. So close!!

9 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

Congrats!

My mom quit 3 years ago. Her COPD has gotten steadily worse and she requires 24 hour oxygen. Not fucking fair.

9 years ago | Likes 6 Dislikes 0

I'm so sorry to hear that :-(

9 years ago | Likes 4 Dislikes 0

Thanks.

9 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

I saved the first image as my lock screen, good daily reminder to help me quit.

9 years ago | Likes 14 Dislikes 0

These things just make me want one more

9 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

Hardest thing I've ever had to do.

9 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

I felt a lot of that when I quit cigarettes for vape. Now I'm working on the next step. I'm down to a negligible amount of nicotine.

9 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

Congrats!

9 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

1 year out for me. It makes a difference sometimes.

9 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

Stay strong!

9 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Thanks. It's especially tough at the holidays with all the stress of family, it I think I've got it now.

9 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

Family can def be stressful, you can do it!

9 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

I quit Christmas day and now I'll use this to keep track of how much better I'll be off without them

9 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

Keep track of how much money you save and buy yourself something nice!

9 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

It's really hard. I have been smoking for more than a third of my life

9 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

I have no doubt in that, try the nictione gum or a vape pen in emergencies. You can do it!

9 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

Thanks for having cairn in me

9 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

Edit: faith

9 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

I am one year without a few days ago!! I would still love a cigarette now, Good luck to everyone!

9 years ago | Likes 4 Dislikes 0

Congrats, stay strong!

9 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

Im not smoking cause im pregnant. I still badly want one after half a year....idk if it ever gets easier

9 years ago | Likes 4 Dislikes 0

I hope it does for you! Think of all the things you could miss out on if you keep smoking, not worth it :)

9 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 1

My girlfriend recently had our child, she was a smoker and it was hard for her to stop! Just think of the child, they're your motivation!

9 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 1

10 months and I am so close to starting again. Go away cravings!

9 years ago | Likes 6 Dislikes 0

Try chewing gum or finding something that helps the cravings!

9 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

My dad quit smoking and almost lasted a year. I had a 1 year party planned and everything but then he started again. You can do it!!!

9 years ago | Likes 4 Dislikes 0

Awe. Dang it Dad! Thanks for your support

9 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

Don't do it. Take it from someone (me) that recently got turned down for a double lung transplant. I'm alive, buts it a shit life.

9 years ago | Likes 6 Dislikes 0

Thanks. My willpower is strong. I am trying. Each day is hard. Sorry to hear your news

9 years ago | Likes 4 Dislikes 0

I quit 6 years ago. Best thing I've ever done. First time I realized I got my senses back I ate icecream for dinner 3 nights in a row!

9 years ago | Likes 25 Dislikes 0

Haha good for you! Well deserved for quiting.

9 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

How much were you smoking a day?

9 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

Half a pack

9 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

After several attempts, finally quit 8 years ago (have lapsed a couple times, but got right back up). Seriously happy about that.

9 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

I read somewhere it usually takes people an average of 8 serious attempts to actually quit

9 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

I suspect I went well iver that average. That said, some of my attempts got me weaned for months before my eventual misstep.

9 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

Missteps happened for about a year for me then I went to a house party and someone gave me a menthol and that mixed with the gin I was ..1/2

9 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

Drinking resulted in much puking and I've never touched a since haha

9 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

Had my last cigarette a little over a year ago. This info is so true. If you're having trouble quitting, vaping really worked for me.

9 years ago | Likes 6 Dislikes 1

Vaping is very helpful.

9 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

My brother started vaping, it really helped him.

9 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

I stopped cigs yrs ago but recently started vaping at a stressful time I thought I might be tempted. Now I guess I have to quit? Indecisive

9 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

Congrats!

9 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

Did you use vaping as a stepping stone to quitting altogether, or did you just switch from smoking to vaping?

9 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

I'm still working on it, but I'm down to 1.5mg. So I'm getting there. But at least I'm not inhaling 40+ known carcinogens 40 times a day.

9 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

I was doing good with vaping and then the public shaming of people vaping started up and pressured me back into analogs

9 years ago | Likes 6 Dislikes 1

This is exactly what I'm fucking talking about.

9 years ago | Likes 4 Dislikes 0

We get it

9 years ago | Likes 12 Dislikes 2

See this is the problem. It legit helps a LOT of people quit. But this stigma that everyone who vapes is some douchey guy blowing as big...

9 years ago | Likes 9 Dislikes 2

of a cloud as he can in your local family restaurant keeps it from helping as many as it actually could help quit.

9 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

I was joking! I understand it helps! Stay smoke free.

9 years ago | Likes 9 Dislikes 0

Ah hard to tell sometimes. I just hate how those d-bags have ruined any possibility of vaping ever having a positive image.

9 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 1

Will go corrective up vote you mate
