Always best to start off strong, so here are the raw wagyu steaks!

The view from our table

An appetizer and some sake to start

These poor dudes were alive seconds before this...

Shrimp and scallops

Mmm

These pieces were basically all fat, so they were cooked for a very long time to make them edible

You can see all the fat... almost no meat on these pieces

Our table and view

Potatoes, lotus root, and the fatty pieces, still cooking

All done. Tons of flavor in each bite.

And here is the actual meat. High grade wagyu for 4 people

Sear is finished, ready to be sliced and ate.

Mmm

Perfectly cooked, rare wagyu steak with some garlic chips on the side

Ate most of my mother in law's steak as well. I can easily finish a 20oz steak by myself, but high grade wagyu is really something else. I struggled to finish about 10oz of this steak. Every bite has such a high fat content that even a small steak is very filling.

Definitely amazing, but not an every week meal.

God bless your photo documenting abilities.

8 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 2

Did u just sit with your phone out the whole time?

8 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

Ugh! Rich people, showing off with expensive food.

8 years ago | Likes 4 Dislikes 0

That cattle waa probably raised on the 40th floor.

8 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

OP, what is the story behind going there to eat?

8 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

I was in Japan on business, my wife tagged along for the first part of the trip, and her parents (who live in Korea) flew to Tokyo.

8 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

So, what did all of that cost then? Genuinly curious because I have truly no idea.

Yes, hello. I'd like the Wagyu Steak please... Well Done. *Screams Internally*

8 years ago | Likes 9 Dislikes 3

Nothing wrong with a well done steak if cooked right. Most places cant get close. Right temp and time you get a sear +juicy inside.

8 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 2

"Can I get some ketchup on it too please?"

8 years ago | Likes 4 Dislikes 3

-Trump probably

8 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

What was the price tag for this endeavor?

8 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

ONLY 399!!!!!!!!!!

8 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 2

About $120 per person for food.

8 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

The cows spend there whole life in a pen never moving or wandering. I lived next to farms that grew hay for japan.

8 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 2

Yeah, but look at that marbling.

8 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 1

Yeah it looks orgasmic trust me.

8 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

What restaurant is this? Did you have to make reservations months in advance? Asking for a friend

8 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

It looks like it could be Esquire club on 52nd fl or the Shinjuku sumitomo bldg. Requires a membership.

8 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 1

As someone who lives in Japan, i'm pretty sure this is the Park Hyatt in Shinjuku. But, i could be wrong...

8 years ago | Likes 4 Dislikes 0

I found it. It's the Esquire club in Shinjuku sumitomo tower 52nd floor. Bldg in the pic is tochomae.

8 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 1

Disregard the little arrow on the pic. That just came with the pic I found. Shinjuku sumitomo bldg is the middle bldg

8 years ago | Likes 7 Dislikes 0

FYI this is the internet, and anyone can and will say anything they damn well please. For example: god is dead, Satan is Lord.

8 years ago | Likes 6 Dislikes 0

High fat content steak. 10oz of this steak is like 24oz of regular steak. I'm 6'4, 200lbs and this was a lot of food.

8 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Yea but that kind of steak costs it's weight... maybe not quite in gold, but at least in silver.

8 years ago | Likes 16 Dislikes 1

I've had it before. It's ALMOST as rich as straight butter. Trust me, that's enough to satiate.

8 years ago | Likes 18 Dislikes 0

Satiation is not the point. I bet you're skinny.

8 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 6

You'd lose that bet. Go eat a whole tablespoon of straight butter, unmelted, not on anything. Ask yourself if you want more after that.

8 years ago | Likes 9 Dislikes 0

How much did that run you if you don't mind me asking?

8 years ago | Likes 10 Dislikes 0

Free. For only ninety-nine, ninety-nine, ninety-nine!

8 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

5000000000000000000000000 pesos

8 years ago | Likes 10 Dislikes 0

ONLY 399!!!!!!!!!!

8 years ago | Likes 6 Dislikes 0

BUT CAN IT DO THIS

8 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

OP is nowhere to be found

8 years ago | Likes 4 Dislikes 0

Just food was about $120 per person. I didn't pay, though.

8 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Sounds very reasonable

8 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Not sure if him being in Tokyo is a factor but in my city, a wagyu steak and similar culinary additions would run about 150 per person.

8 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

Well guess that's a no go for me lol

8 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

If the opportunity arises you should definitely try it. But make sure to either reserve the cut or get there early enough to try it :)

8 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

I have never understood the hype for wagyu beef....

8 years ago | Likes 4 Dislikes 3

I had a tiny piece at a nice sushi restaurant. Was $8 (Canada) for about half a slice of cooked, thick cut bacon sized. Would love a steak.

8 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

Have you had actual Japanese high grade Wagyu? In a lot of countries they call beef Wagyu that isn't genuine or high grade.

8 years ago | Likes 4 Dislikes 0

I have not, but I have done some research on it and to me it doesn’t sound all that special, plus the cost turns me away 1/2

8 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 2

I am pretty picky about steaks as I raised cattle growing up, but I just honestly don’t see the appeal, I am willing to try though if I can

8 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 1

I've had high grade Wagyu, and Kobe beef in Japan and it is truely amazing. I'm a city boy but have hit a few very good steak houses in my1/

8 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

2/ hometown and none of them got close. If you ever get a chance to visit Japan put away some cash and try it. Kobe beef set me back

8 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

Have you had it?

8 years ago | Likes 4 Dislikes 0

I have. Many times. I'd take a broiled ribeye over that any day.

8 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 6

Broiled ribeye... lol okay then.

8 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 1

I personally would enjoy my meal alot more if i wasnt spending so much time taking pictures of it to make people in the internet jealous.

8 years ago | Likes 5 Dislikes 3

you're not eating it while it's being made anyway....so i dont see why multitasking and taking pics is so bad

8 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Im just old-fashioned. Its like people taking pics with their phones at a concert. You cant experience it if youre documenting it instead.

8 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Trust me, taking a few pictures of my meal took a combined total of 30 seconds and didn't in any way inhibit me from enjoying my dinner.

8 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 1

actually, you can. If you can do two things at once...Which many can. Why knock something off just because you cant do it? :)

8 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

likewise, why criticize someone for expressing their opinion based not on ability, but choice? The whole multi-screening,social media . . .

8 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

and why criticize someone for criticizing someone who criticized someone? :D

8 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Gross. That much fat is just pointless.

8 years ago | Likes 6 Dislikes 4

Better than the same number of calories in carbs.

8 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 1

agreed. i hate massive chunks of fat in my meat. so slimy.

8 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 1

Its not slimy at all when cooked right. Instead, the fat breaks down and becomes tender. It basically melts in your mouth.

8 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Yeah but I don't like chewing on fat to begin with. I'd rather just have meat

8 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

that sounds disgusting.

8 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Well, we can't all have good taste.

8 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

eating pure fat isn't good taste, but you do you.

8 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 1

I'm pretty sure this is the Park Hyatt in Shinjuku.

8 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

No......that is an Imgur comment......you meant "that is the Park Hyatt in Shinjuku."

8 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 3

It's probably the hibachi place on the lobby of the Ritz in Rippongi. 52nd floor of the same building Konami is in.

8 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 1

The building in the photo looks like one of the towers of the Tokyo metropolitan government building though. To get that angle of the

8 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 1

Tower requires you to be in the other tower. There's no other building that close to that building. But I'm unsure if there's a restaurant

8 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 1

up there. Maybe the photo is zoomed.

8 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 1

Ah, I found it. It's the Shinjuku sumitomo building which is next to the tochomae building.

Pitbull signed an NDA contract... and then totally instagrammed the location and name of the client... lost my dream job. Fuck Pitbull
