Wow - I've been in a lot of earthquakes and this one is HUGE. Mad respect for the adults taking care of the kids here.

Loma Prieta was fucking nuts. This looks to be just as nuts.

Now I want to set up a drone that takes off and hovers as soon as an earthquake is detected in order to better visualize the ground movement

@ those teachers: RESPECT!

Just lay down and enjoy the ride.

Experienced the big earthquake here in Seattle back in 2001. Trees shook like Pom-Poms.

8 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

Ahhh Seattle here too. Only for 8 years though. I haven’t felt one yet but have heard lots about the Nisqually !

A bunch of years ago. There was an earthquake in Mexico. That caused a lot of schools to collapse and killed a lot of kids.

Always upvote children falling down.

8 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 2

We were taught to stay not move around like this. Go somewhere close, doorway, under table, but it'd be over usually before you evacuate.

Weebles will wobble but they won't fall down

8 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

That one little kid that fell right on his butt immediately....

8 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Those teachers did a good job getting the students on the ground. Looked orderly for an earthquake.

That male teacher carrying the kid out under his arm!

8 years ago | Likes 6 Dislikes 0

Here in Mexico we regularly have earthquake drills.

8 years ago | Likes 8 Dislikes 0

IIRC one of the parents said to the teachers something like: “Thanks for being there for my kid when you wanted to be with your kid”

I miss recess.

8 years ago | Likes 5 Dislikes 1

Well it is Mexico city. If they weren't solidly installed they'd have been stolen already.

Orale chamacos

8 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

why the cameras dont move?

8 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Video might have been editied and stabalised? Though I'm thinking it's fake.

8 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 4

Also nothing else

8 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

The camara is attached to the building that it is moving, so the people are moving out of control of their bodies with the earthquake.

8 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

All adults completely focused on sheparding children into safe positions. They're doing such a good job!

8 years ago | Likes 106 Dislikes 1

yeah for some reason seeing them do that made me start crying

8 years ago | Likes 12 Dislikes 0

Too soon. Lots of people lost everything they have. I'm Mexican and it hit near my heart. Sorry.

8 years ago | Likes 10 Dislikes 13

What's too soon? This gif is really interesting to see. Earthquakes are scary, be glad you're safe

8 years ago | Likes 7 Dislikes 1

Too soon what - it shows a great job by the teachers? Nothing uncanny. I am truely sorry for everyone that lost anything - but come on.

8 years ago | Likes 8 Dislikes 12

This earthquake was devastating. Many people lost their families, homes or jobs. Too soon.

8 years ago | Likes 11 Dislikes 19

The comments on this are revolting. Not least due to the fact that 20 children died in a school that collapsed.

8 years ago | Likes 10 Dislikes 12

I agree with you. Too soon.

8 years ago | Likes 6 Dislikes 10

And why is it sepia tone?

8 years ago | Likes 80 Dislikes 7

Porque qué?

8 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 4

It was an artsy earthquake.

8 years ago | Likes 10 Dislikes 0

8 years ago | Likes 9 Dislikes 22

8 years ago | Likes 5 Dislikes 1

No, is not. Is just reality.

8 years ago | Likes 10 Dislikes 1

All of Mexico is like that.

8 years ago | Likes 269 Dislikes 3

I've seen enough of Breaking Bad to know this is true.

8 years ago | Likes 21 Dislikes 1

It's a great place to gain instagram followers

8 years ago | Likes 4 Dislikes 0

When I saw the sepia question I showed my wife and said “top response is a joke about how all of Mexico is like that”. I was right.

8 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

No joke, just reality. We are like this over here.

8 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

As mexican, this is pretty accurate. And is not racist.

8 years ago | Likes 61 Dislikes 2

As a different Mexican, I wouldn't know.

8 years ago | Likes 16 Dislikes 1

As an American, I wouldn't know either.
