My check engine light has been on for so long that I'm now more worried about it being off than on.

Fuck, if only

I had a car where putting premium fuel in it temporarily fixed the check engine light. That should not have worked.

I just thought my car was self-healing.

I hit a pothole once and my TPMS light went off. I was on my way to the gas station to air up my tires.

I should try this..

9 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Hit a pothole and your brake pad wear light ignites.... jeeez

9 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

I got a pothole that knocked my o2 sensor out, few weeks later hit the same pothole and it fixed it!

9 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Must be a Volkswagen.

9 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

That's how I get my speakers to turn on and off

9 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

All that means is you have a loose battery cable. Seriously.

9 years ago | Likes 72 Dislikes 8

Or a loose o2 sensor in my case

9 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

In my case it was a computer problem causing battery cable shorts. Never a "just" with car trouble, somehow.

9 years ago | Likes 10 Dislikes 0

A loose battery cable, jarred by the pothole, is why the CEL turned OFF. The underlying cause for the check engine light is undetermined.

9 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Yeah, nah hey.

9 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

That really depends on what kind of car you have.. Read the instructions about your car, seriously

9 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Or a loose radiator hose in my case... Not quite as innocent. Like I now need a new engine and radiator less innocent.

9 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

That sucks. Did the temp gauge ever come on?

9 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Partially correct. It means there is a loose connection.. possibly a batt cable or like 20 other connecters.

9 years ago | Likes 5 Dislikes 0

You sir/madam/idontgiveafuxkwhatyouidentifyas just blew my mind with this information. Thank you!

9 years ago | Likes 12 Dislikes 2

It's not accurate. If you have a check engine get the code ran and it will tell you what's wrong. It's free some places or there's an app

9 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

I always take it when the light comes on anyways

9 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

I was unclear. A loose cable jarred by the pothole is why the CEL turned off, however briefly. It'll come back on soon enough. Sorry!

9 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

My check engine light was on for two weeks and now it's off. Must be what happened.

9 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

As a mechanic it happens your not in Chicago are you?

9 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Omaha

9 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

You're an auto mechanic?

9 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

I think Flash season 3 was really interesting the way they *spoiler*

9 years ago | Likes 4 Dislikes 2

Seriously, I'll be spoiling some shit. Beware.

9 years ago | Likes 4 Dislikes 1

I'm only upvoting for the double spoiler alert saving me from myself

9 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

I got you fam

9 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

The way they laid out the seaon goals. Like saving Iris is blah, but the idea that they are trying to tweak future events to save her is fun

9 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 1

i feel that flash could have just saved her at the start of the season by just changing the future in the future

9 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Sure, and they're doing that now, but I liked the reverse-engineering of that string with "fighting the inevitable" as the season's theme.

9 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

very true, I'm still pushing that malfoy/julian/tom felton is Savitar since he is part of the team now

9 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

You driving a Jeep?

9 years ago | Likes 9 Dislikes 0

I'm pretty sure jeeps come factory like that.

9 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

A yugo

9 years ago | Likes 5 Dislikes 1

Yugo girl

9 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

Better is Honda than a Jeep, better is Honda than a Ford, better is Honda than a Chevy, or a Yugooooo

9 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 6

But a Volvo is the best

9 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 1

As a Jeep driver, my check engine light is always on

9 years ago | Likes 7 Dislikes 0

Same.

9 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

How do you know it's always on if the dealer has it all the time for recalls?

9 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

The older ones don't have recalls, especially the Wranglers

9 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

Yet I still don't trust them.

9 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Well, AMC and Chrysler have never been extremely reliable, lol

9 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

This is actually how mechanics fix most car troubles

9 years ago | Likes 16 Dislikes 2

9 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

Mechanic here. Can confirm. We just take problem cars off a sweet jump and get some rad air. And the car will either break, or fix itself.

9 years ago | Likes 38 Dislikes 0

Or, just break another part so they can fix that and the underlying problem remains

9 years ago | Likes 14 Dislikes 0

Are you like hiding in my shop watching me work or something? How did you find out? I'm calling the police.

9 years ago | Likes 17 Dislikes 0

He's calling the attorney general

9 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0
