I live in Illinois have never actually hung out or visited Toronto reasoning beyond me love everything I’ve heard and now this even the cats are polite
Yeah, why not practice the sacred art of "cat bribing"? If our cats were still with us I knew I could make their day by prepping the window with comfy cushions, adequate warmth, catnip, a variety of treats and for piece de resistance a variety of cat toys in front of the windows so the visitors can provide the cats with entertainment. It shouldn't be that hard to make it a good day for the cats as well.
I have dogs, but they are exactly the same. One is a social butterfly/attention whore and the other one is shy and doesn't like people except for her immediate family.
I don't think it looked that, seemed respectful enough. That said I do agree. We have the most gorgeous cat, multiple strangers have written to say they want her on somebshow or page or other. Never. She's ours and she's gonna live as spoiled and relaxed a life as is at all possible. Taking her to anything such would be for our vanity, not her benefit. Her names Cleopawtra and I'll post a few picks below
I know all that. I live in Vancouver, which is always neck and neck with Toronto for most expensive city in Canada. It's my hometown, I grew up there. It's ok to love and miss where you grew up.
I live in Toronto. I probably shouldn't generalize so much, but the city, or perhaps just it's inhabitants, are not a good representation of a great city.
Specificly random stabbings, a ton of people have been getting stabbed for no reason. I think it's starting to quiet down a bit but yeah it is or was getting bad
It's a weird phenomenon Toronto does have a high stab rate because alot of gangs like to stab. But this is specificly people stabbing random people for no reason and cops never found a reason, they just wanted to stab someone.
I could go down a history rabbit hole with it about how in the greaser era they would often have knife fights. This is where they tied their bandana's together, then hold onto the other end and stab at each other till one released the bandana. It's still very much a thing in skin heads, native gangs and French gangs and even mexican gang, others such as the crips and bloods you just had to kill the person though and collect the bandana. Now Toronto is a very diverse place with a slowly 1/2
I live in Vancouver now, there's not much difference in that regard. Also, note that I said I miss it, not that I would move back there. Just nostalgic for it, that's all. Love going back to visit. I grew up there.
I'm not saying they're not needed, but the amount of small businesses getting closed down and the lack of compensation seems a slap to the face. (Not my words, spoken from a comic shop owner who has now lost not only his shop, but his home because of the Eglinton line. His location was chosen for an emergency exit tunnel.) Hell, people on our street have sudden foundation damage on relatively new buildings and they're getting the run around about it.

I get it. You wanna hear the actual audio. But do unmute because 1. Drum and Bass. 2. This was a school project and that's pretty cool too.

I miss living in Toronto.
theFlipman
I moved to Toronto last year. What's your favourite place here?
HawkmanXLII
I grew in High Park, and I love the west end. Spent a lot of time in the Annex and Kensington Market.
OptimisticMisanthrope
I don't. Mostly due to having never lived there before.
ilikecars
You’re not missing a thing except the food is pretty good. Completely unaffordable housing and rent and traffic that rivals LA.
youreathing
Disagree. Born and bred. We have our problems but what city doesn't?
HawkmanXLII
I know all that. I live in Vancouver, which is always neck and neck with Toronto for most expensive city in Canada. It's my hometown, I grew up there. It's ok to love and miss where you grew up.
TeamRocketHR
I'll agree about the rent but at least Toronto has a decent public transportation system. LA's is so patchy.
youreathing
Yep, we have a LOT of room to improve, but it's certainly not the worst system (though it seems like it at times).
canadmos
Toronto sucks, you're not missing much.
HawkmanXLII
It's my hometown and I love it there. Thanks for your opinion though, it really means a lot to me that you put the effort in to share.
canadmos
I live in Toronto. I probably shouldn't generalize so much, but the city, or perhaps just it's inhabitants, are not a good representation of a great city.

Welp, sucks for you to live somewhere you don't like I guess.

It does suck..
SmilinSloth
I do and I don't with all the random stabbings going down right now it's so bad right now. Before it happened but not like this
Myowngrampa
Is it more than before? The stabbing
SmilinSloth
Specificly random stabbings, a ton of people have been getting stabbed for no reason. I think it's starting to quiet down a bit but yeah it is or was getting bad
KKinDK
What? Are there frequent stabbings? I'm in Copenhagen where violence is rare
SmilinSloth
It's a weird phenomenon Toronto does have a high stab rate because alot of gangs like to stab. But this is specificly people stabbing random people for no reason and cops never found a reason, they just wanted to stab someone.

I just moved back a year ago, it's lost a lot of its charm... The new subway projects are killing neighbourhoods...
