This is my great-great-great grandfather. He had two pet foxes and lived in a fortress.

I decided to do some research on my ancestors, and found these pictures of my great-great-great grandfather in the norwegian state archives. He was a commander of the small norwegian fortress Munkholmen, which wasn't really active in his time. I thought they might be cool to share.

In the description of the picture they keep referring to an image of Mrs. Wigum (My great-great-great grandmother) feeding one of the foxes. Unfortunately, I couldn't find this picture anywhere.

Rough translation from norwegian: "Fourteen days ago we printed an image showing how Mrs. Wigum fed one of the foxes on Munkholmen. In that context a reader in Lesund (norwegian town) sent us an image showing the former commander of Munkholmen, J. Wigum, partaking in intimate conversation with Mikkel (The fox). This member of the Mikkel-family is a tad smaller than in the last image, but it could be the same male in two different stages of its foxistence. The picture is probably taken some time around 1914-1916. The image is sent to us by Johan Ødegaard, Lesund."

This is the male fox, Mikkel. The picture is titled "Mikkel guarding the gate"

Both pictures could easily become a great book and you already have the bookcovers. Cool finding!
